If ur ex befriends your current and u think some dirt will come out,go All Out on offense..be proactive…say dirt about him or her to your current ahead of time.
That way when he/she starts heating stuff about you from him/her,the truth is now clouded and in a knot. Lol

Well, I have to be frank….

First off, never do something that could possibly haunt you and if you do, never be ashamed. If it’s something you decided to do sans the new man or woman, it was your choice and decision to make. You’re an adult, that’s a priviledge that comes with IF by chance something transpired, say you aren’t ashamed of and someone wants to shake salt on your new thing, then I’m looking at your new person with a side-eye because it was prior to your connection with him or her.

As said all the time on here, everyone has a past. If you can’t look past that then too bad so sad for you. If you like that person and want to give it a go, you have to be open enough to not be affected by their past (I know…I’m having an out of body experience right about now…lol). Seriously, if your new person can’t detect or discern someone is trying to shake salt on y’alls new thing then maybe they aren’t the one for you.

Speaking of BFFS….I was sitting next to my nosey, greedy, cheep aunt that was all crack on behind her back (sorry..that’s mean) after church service had ended. Why oh why was my brother texting me…lol First he was like “y’all sho is sitting mighty close and tight”, then he sends a text that said “BFFs for life” I was caracking up because I was trying to read AND SO WAS SHE…lol She was peeking over in my hand. When I looked across the church, he crossed his fingers to indicate that we were tight. I was laughing sooo hard and so was he and some of the other deacons sitting with him. I believe in being honest. Don’t live in fear of your past, its what defines you as a person. Most love showing off the shiny part of their past, present and future but conveniently skip over the bad, dark chapters of their lives. The worst thing in the world is to have someone(or a supposedly new friend) expose secrets about your current. It sucks!! Now the new guy is sitting there trying to figure out should he blast the fool that told him or blast the girlfriend that didn’t.

Mr. Unknown – What preventative measures would you suggest? I mean at this point he can talk. Nothing she can do about that. I’m not going to try and beat someone to the punch (as suggested by MMeello). I’ve had someone to do that to me. When you’re trying to beat someone to the point, you’re creating something potentially dangerous that you’re not even sure about yourself. I’ve had someone to put something out (nothing really), because I believe the thought I would or had already talked. Look, this is a lesson I’ve learned…good, bad or indifferent, deal with folks that you can trust. Even if things are a bust, it’s a matter between two individuals. Dealing with folks that are spiteful and hurtful and lives by the motto I’ll get you before you get me is just plain crazy. I do not understand that. If it was the two of you, what happened there should stay there. That’s the way adults behave. I’m never going to be hold hostage to my past or things I’ve done. My mantra is I answer to God. Not saying you should live and have indiscretions all willy nilly but worry about people can be crippling.

If this woman (in the post) is on pins and needles, she should re-evaluate her behavior and the company she keeps. If he’s a stand-up man, he’ll see the dude shaking salt for what he really is.

robert – I like your downlow theory. lol. of course, it could just be that they clicked. also, I think many of us have “big city” mindsets. some folks, though, are “small town” as in they still live in a small town and the pickings are slimmer. they are used to “recycling” more than the rest of us.

while I’m not overly concerned about what an ex would say about me I have commented in the past that I wouldn’t hang out in a place where all of my exes congregated. in particular, I’ve joked about people being able to walk into a bar/club/house party/wherever and know that they had slept with half a dozen people in the room.

yeah. ebt messed up a lot. also makes buying stamps that much more difficult. back in the day, the neighborhood drug dealers would have mad stamps at the first of the month. back in the day, it was a race to see who could get to so and so and get those stamps for 50 cents on the dollar. now with ebt you have to either be cool enough to be trusted with the card or take those jokers to the store with you. okay. sorry. guess I got carried away on food stamps. I’ll pull back now.

I noticed that many were embarrased using food stamps back in the day. I was never shamed. I didn’t care who looked at me ripping a 5, a 10 or a 1 out various packs. What I did know was Mama had food in the house for us. Now as an adult, I never used food stamps because I believed hard work and perserverance will get a person ahead in life and because too many lean on it when they don’t really need to. I opted to struggle and forge my way in life without the help of a government handout.

Somehow though, their on an 800 number so no personal calls are incoming. Too, they use to have a backline for that. They have new phones now, no way personal calls can come in at all. Too boot, cell phones are no longer allowed on the phone. The fear/risk is someone will take pictures of confidential stuff. She would die working on that team. They have to make calls on break.

C – you have a cousin there? just one? lol. right now, I’ve got three cousins inside. one for murder, one for robbery and another on drug charges. I’ve got a few others sitting in county jails doing “short time”. I have two that just dodged bullets. one was facing attempted murder/aggravated robbery charges. he sat in county for a year. charges were reduced and he got time served. another just had similar charges dismissed.

EX – I watch lock up all the time too but I’m not caught up on the inmates. there are just as many men walking around creeping with each other that have never even been in trouble with the law. is one really any better than the other?

Yep. Chicken franks. Have you ever seen those nasty things? A friend of the Ex’s BFF used to come to cookouts and drink up everybody’s beer and liquor and then say he’d cover the meat for the cookout. Buster Brown would come back with chicken franks and a six-pack of Busch Light and act so proud of himself. Like he had really contributed.

ITL – I haven’t had chicken franks but I remember my mama have a caniption because one of my sibs brought back chicken bologna. She almost took a switch. I remember thinking dang, they’re just a kid. The walked to the neighborhood store. She was like that about buying white bread to or forgetting to bring back her Tab or Fresca…lololol Needless to say a second trip to the store was in order.

Exiled – One of my good friends was dating this dude that was in and out of prison. She kept making excuses for him. Once they had an arguement and she told me while we were riding in her car that she had to look out for him because he was stalking her and had a gun. I immediately slid down in the seat. I was so scared! I told her I couldn’t come over anymore and would just have to talk to her on the phone!

That’s just not the life for me, having to look over my shoulder.

C – I don’t snub anyone and I am kind to people. A dear guy friend I have did some time years ago, before we ever met. I have family that has gotten into trouble. Where I draw the line is dating & marrying. Or befriending a person that’s still into a questionable, criminal lifestyle. I’m not just talking street crime either, so-called white-collar criminals as well. I don’t want to have to hide my purse every time you’re around. Kimmie – I’m with you 100% No way am I going to lower my standards in the realm of dating for anyone. Men getting a free pass on a whole bunch of stuff we can in no way get away with…will probably always be. That’s why it’s foreign to them (IMO), to see a woman with standards. She’s faking, flossing, fronting, lying or hiding her past. No way can she be stand up….it seems…to most of them. IMO, this low opinion they have of women is from their experience. What they fail to realize (again IMO), is that they’ve not dated all and should not assume every chick is busted up and black on the inside. Bitter and mad at the world. Trrrust me, most think you have a stick up your butt because you’ll cut ‘em off with the quickness, no hanging on. No, it’s not always easy but a good woman can do it and keep it moving. But I so agree, that they can pretty much do whatever the heck they like to any chick (allowed of course), and THEN want to have their pick of the litter.
