Trust your ex around your next?

I am stumped on this latest dating misadventure. I am lucky enough not to have experienced this one:

One of our readers is slightly freaking out since her ex ?? (um ex-fling/hook up/random guy to past the time with just befriended her new man. At this point, she is unsure if it was deliberate or if they simply met each other through friends innocently. To make matters worse, he has a little dirt on her. Just enough to make the new man’s opinion of her change. (She won’t say what it is, specifically but my imagination is working overtime).

I can say that if an ex of mine met my new beau, I’d probably freak out a little bit too. I just don’t know what my exes could say or do to wreck things. Why would the want to?

What would you do if your ex and your new mate became buddies or BFFs. Would you worry about what would be revealed about you?

Is this good reason to have full disclosures in a new relationship. That way, you won’t worry about something coming out before you want it to?

Have you ever met an ex partner of your significant other?

Okay Twin Twink, get it together. When y’all are done roasting and getting you’re fill on honeybun icing, baby Rella will still need milk and pampers. I need you to snap out of it. Get the money first and THEN the rest.

Yep. Chicken franks. Have you ever seen those nasty things? A friend of the Ex’s BFF used to come to cookouts and drink up everybody’s beer and liquor and then say he’d cover the meat for the cookout. Buster Brown would come back with chicken franks and a six-pack of Busch Light and act so proud of himself. Like he had really contributed.

I don’t think that all men that have been to prison have been tapped. But that’s not the only reason I don’t deal with ex-cons. Once you have a record, your entire life is changed. You have trouble getting a decent job no matter how much education you have. Me & my children would forever have to pay the price for your bad decisions.

I’ve just never been comfortable with the criminal types, the bad boys. That mess is not cute, and in that respect I am not ride-or-die. I’m not going to prison or jail for anybody and I’m not exposing my family to that type of scene. I like being able to lay my head on my pillow at night in peace. Miss me with all the drama.

ITL – I haven’t had chicken franks but I remember my mama have a caniption because one of my sibs brought back chicken bologna. She almost took a switch. I remember thinking dang, they’re just a kid. The walked to the neighborhood store. She was like that about buying white bread to or forgetting to bring back her Tab or Fresca…lololol Needless to say a second trip to the store was in order.

ITL – Don’t be blinded by a smooth talking, honeybun eating, chicken franks cooking man. If you gonna go all out, go high class and get OM…lol If you want him to make you feel extra special, make him spring for a steak :)

Well, one thing I believe is that no matter your station in life, you can overcome. I’ve seen mountains move out of the way, I’ve seen the impossible happen. I won’t discount or write anybody off. Like my mama says, God can make a way out of no way. There are some folks that make more money than the educated man and I’m sure is skipping all the way to the bank. There are too many stories of triumph where people had it hard and things looked bleak. Nope, I won’t ever discount or write off anybody.

I hope you eat lunch or have a co-worker that did hard time…lol Since you said you ain’t befriending no ex-cons. Exiled – One of my good friends was dating this dude that was in and out of prison. She kept making excuses for him. Once they had an arguement and she told me while we were riding in her car that she had to look out for him because he was stalking her and had a gun. I immediately slid down in the seat. I was so scared! I told her I couldn’t come over anymore and would just have to talk to her on the phone!

That’s just not the life for me, having to look over my shoulder.

C – it’s sort of like the devil you know. I’m cool with MY criminals. I don’t want too much to do with other folks’ criminals. sort of like when I met the guy who had just got paroled after serving time for bank robbery. some folks actually told me I should give him a chance. those folks had me stuck. I’m not the one.

So family gets a pass huh? Okay then :) Familiar criminals…lol

C – I don’t snub anyone and I am kind to people. A dear guy friend I have did some time years ago, before we ever met. I have family that has gotten into trouble. Where I draw the line is dating & marrying. Or befriending a person that’s still into a questionable, criminal lifestyle. I’m not just talking street crime either, so-called white-collar criminals as well. I don’t want to have to hide my purse every time you’re around. I never wanted to expose my family to that type of life.

Can’t dot side by side with someone’s else relation who is ex con and be comfy..
