Like many of you, I have been extremely saddened to hear about the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado this weekend. It is heartbreaking to hear about the lives that were lost and the families that are left with the huge loss of loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were affected.
I read that there were three men who shielded their girlfriends and lost their lives protecting them. True men of valor. I am sure it was an instinctive move to do so because men innately want to protect. At least, that is what my Father always told me.
He said that any man that does not show you he wants to protect you is not the man for you. He would say, “Pay attention to that kind of thing because it is always about their character.”
A lot of women overlook the importance of a man’s character. It’s not until they are faced with a particular situation that shows them a man’s true character. I believe the same holds true for men. They think that looks are enough until they realize the severe lack of character.
How do you think people show their character in the early stages of dating? What do you pay attention to?
Have you ever dated someone and realized how great their character was? What were the circumstances?

Slim – I’ve always heard you can drown in a small amount of water as well as a body of water. I have a rule though, if I can’t drink it or bathe in it, I’m not tackling it too much.

Kimmie – My wife can’t drive across a long/tall bridge with water underneath. She doesn’t mind riding across it though. She never drives when we go to HH or anywhere in FLA.
Cel – That is one of my fav beaches in FLA. We went twice while we were in Orlando. The kids loved it. The wifey was scared to walk to the end of the pier. Built in excuse for me to steal a hour of me time on vacay. hahaha

Main reason why I prefer pools. No fish in there. Sure you can drown, but no man eating fish! Best of all, no darn seaweed. I’ll drown myself trying to get away from that which wraps itself around my legs.

Leggs the Bahama Mama’s would have calmed your nerves all the way to sleep…….LOL
Shoot I had a few too many and was glad as heck I wasn’t driving or operating nothing. To make matters worse I forgot they drive on the wrong side of the street and cars would whiff by I figured I’d be better off walking away from the street all together.

You know what makes me nervous? Chair lifts. Yup. Never used to bother me, I’d even be swinging it back and forth. But now? Un-uh. Just get me to the top of the mountain. Oh, and cable cars, too.

ITL – my brother went skiing last year for the first time. he was all macho gung ho. all in “I got this man” mode. they told him before hand the lift would take him up but not bring him down. he got up there, bust his behind and raised cain about someone taking him down off that hill. I laughed so hard when he told me about it.

Leggs – Reminds me of the time I got stung by a jellyfish. I’m not sure what was worse, the sting or me breaking my neck to get up out of the water. And every time something (seaweed) would brush up against me, it made my speed just that much faster.

I’m with you on cable cars. Unfortunately, I’m the type that if it’s man made, it’s going to break. Main reason why amusement parks with rides that go off the ground are not meant for me. Never, ever again.

I would love to see one two, but not while I’m in the water with it. I rented a condo down in Destin and saw the dolphins jumping out the water. That was pretty and far away enough for me.
Single ~ I’m sure it would be cool to see, but I’m scared, very scared. I might need to be hypnotized just to be in in a boat on such a vast body of water.

Celisea – I used to be kind of scared to get on a ship, but an ex cured me of it. We went water skiing and I had my life jacket on. I don’t swim well in deep water, and he was doing most of the skiing, though I tried. He stopped the boat in the middle of the lake and threw me in. I was terrified I was going to drown until I calmed down and realized the life jacket had me floating on top of the water, just like it was supposed to!

Exiled the worst kind of shark to be around is a bull shark, they are very territorial, also the fear is not being eating by a shark, but being bit and bleeding to death, Sharks don’t like the way humans taste.
