Dating: Summer in the city
It may feel like Phoenix outside, but this is Atlanta – a place that offers many options in date destinations. We talked earlier this week about having solid date plans for date night and we are fortunate to take advantage of all Atlanta has to offer! We have activities and locations that are ideal for night dates, daytime dates, lazy dates, adventurous dates…you get the idea.
Our good friends at HowAboutWe.com revealed that Atlanta daters have particular locations that we like to frequent on dates:

I have only been to 1,2, 3 and 4 on a date. All really fun and memorable outings, and I plan to get to the remaining soon! The destinations helped, but I suspect that I was deeply distracted by my date. When you ask out the right people, your date destination becomes the cherry on top of the already iced cake, am I right??
There were also a few other notable facts about dating in Atlanta during the summer:
The dating site also uncovered the following in their research of Atlanta’s Summer Dating Trends:
-Atlanta singles love going to sporting events when summer time rolls around. Specifically, heading to a Braves game. Atlanta’s sport of choice, with 1 in 4 dates in the “play” category involving Turner Field.
-Another way Atlanta singles get their hearts pumping? Hiking. Hiking dates are suggested 2x more often during the summer.
-Volunteering date ideas are suggested 10% more often in Atlanta during the summer.
-Looking for something a little more unique? Hot air balloon dates also trended throughout June.
-Dates involving Brazilian cuisine are suggested 26% more often during the summer, a departure from winter’s favorite: French fare.
I have done the volunteering date idea and I was pleasantly surprised at my date’s willingness to go and not complain. I think you can tell a lot about a person when you observe them helping others.

If you do outdoor activities a fireworks show, military air show, cook outs, stone mountain laser show, I’ve already mentioned outdoor movies happening three nights a week. Bukooze of stuff to do and most of them are free. I’m not fond of being out in heat in excess of 100 degrees but if other folks can stand it there it is. My favorite time comes in the mid summer to fall football season for tailgaiting. Great atmosphere to take a date if she likes football.

Speaking of summer, what woman decided to make summer the official “wedding season?” And, yes, I did say woman, because no man would voluntarily choose to spend a Saturday layered in a tux or suit in the middle of the summer when it’s 105 f__king degrees outside.
(In case you can’t tell, we’ve got a wedding to go to Saturday, and last I checked, the dress code doesn’t permit wife-beaters and flip-flops)

Good morning,
I’ve been to Atlantic Station for a date…I’ve also gone to see the Atlanta Symphony in conjunction with Cirque du Solei but it was not actually at the symphony hall….
I also like to do bowling, miniature golf, and of course out to eat on a date.

When it’s this hot, I don’t want to be outside at all. I also have asthma and the air quality is really bad in this heat. I have to be careful.
Now…when it’s 85 degrees, that’s different. I don’t mind so much doing outdoor things…festivals, concerts, whatever.
I also cannot wait until the fall for college football!!!! I think going to a UGA game would be my ideal date!

Leggs that’s why Ex ref. the hotel room. I know this is nerdy but Fernbank Science Center have a planetarium show every Thursday and Friday night from 9pm to 10:30. You can go after dinner and you wont be out in the heat and it is a an experience to view real stars.

summer time (to me) is for simple pleasures. I’m not in Atlanta but if I could conjure up some summer time fun I’d (or we’d if I could also conjure up and imaginary date) go grab a 7/11 slurpee (might mix the flavors) or a lemon berry sonic slush. if it’s evening time might even pour a shot of vodka in it. maybe sit on the porch (in the shade of course) and eat some peanut butter chocolate ice cream or a red white and blue bomb pop. get a card game going on an enclosed patio. have a water fight with balloons, super soakers and the “cheater” who commandeered the water hose. plus you know the heat generally contributes to the “it is” so I wouldn’t really be checking for too many physical activities. just a bunch of chilling. I tend to do move movies in summer because it’s about the only time you truly appreciate the super air conditioning in the theatres.

Morning folks,
Ahhh yeah, summertime. I LOVE getting whisked away on some adventure but in the summertime, not so much. I don’t do well in extreme weather. I don’t mind evening dates or something in the early morning but I’m not feeling being out and about in triple digit weather. Winter, Spring and Autumn…not the summer months so much. I dunno, I’m easily irritated by all the heat. Too, I like places and what not but I don’t care for really large crowds unless I’m sitting in the dome on the fifty yard line
Or something like that. Walking around in triple digit weather and bumping up against a bunch of folks is not my idea of fun…lol

ITL – They’re the slide I purchased from Phipps Saturday. I have the MKs but the B.O.C. slides weren’t in stock. They supposedly was gonna order from another store and ship to me but apparently that ain’t happening….lol So the store manager just called and said he’s getting someone to run to the NorthPoint Store (I believe) and bringing to Phipps. I turn my back when I thought the fire was put down embers are still smoldering. Leggs frankly I see it too, some folks literally like being dragged thru the fire. You know I took a brick in the eye for my oldest sister a long time, this dude was liking and she didn’t want no part of him. One day I was doing what 9 year olds do palying in the mud near some bushes and dude thought I was my sister and slung a brick through the bushes and it caught me in my right eye. Yeah I was jumping up and down in pain crying and so forth, and my uncle caught wind of it (disco this is how we did it too LOL) we walked the WHOLE neighborhood until we found that rascal and my uncle lit into him and my sister never had another problem from ever. Of course I had to deal with a black eye for a while but it was worth it.

I got another one where this guy was in ROTC in high school and I was in the second grade and every morning I walked to school he would take my lunch money 10 cent and said if I told anybody he would kill me. Every day at lunch time I would burst out crying because I was hungry and didn’t have money to eat with and my teacher asked me why and I told her and she called my grandma. My grandma staked me out one day without my knowledge and she said she saw him stop me that morning and take my money. I have lived in ATL know for a couple of years I am ashame to admit it but last week was the first time I visited the Dr. Martin Luther King Center and his grave site. It was a very emotional experience for me. It made me made as hell to see all the graffiti on the walls of the King Center and no one gives a damn if they clean it up or not. People just like me from all across the USA and the world have a different opinion about what the King Center stands for and his legacy. I am glad I saw this piece of American/Black History and will take my family the next time they visit ATL.

ITL – That’s why I LOOOOVE belks at Phipps. They have to die for clothing/shoes and the sales are waaay better than Macys. I spent not even 80.00 bucks Saturday. The shoes were orig 98 for $25 another pair orig 75 for 37.50 and a linen dress (for FLA), can’t remember the original price but it was marked to 43.00 and then again and the $10 at the register.
