Dating: Faking it?
One of the many challenges of a new relationship is figuring out the other person’s quirks. You can only put your best foot forward so long before you have to let it all hang out. This can be a great thing, though! Well, until you start to wonder what was real and what was fake.
You know I always say that you meet the person’s “dating representative” in the first couple of weeks of dating them. The dating rep is supposed to reel you in, but what happens when the rep leaves?
A friend of mine is trying to determine how much was real and how much is fake in his new woman. Specifically, he is wondering if she was faking the Big O – early in the relationship, or is she faking it now. Apparently, there are stark differences and he doesn’t know what to make of it.
Would you want to know if someone was faking it in bed? Do you think you would come out and ask if they were?
When it comes to sex and dating, where does the real vs. fake come into play before you know the real person? How do you know when someone is being authentic or fake with you?

This is an interesting topic and I think is time for possibly TMI. There is a reason why that scene in “When Harry Met Sally” is legendary in movie history (and a sad goodbye to Nora Ephron too, best chic flic maker/master of all time). That reason is that men who tell you they always know might lie about other things too. Shall i repeat that…”men who tell you they always know might lie about other things too”.
In straight intercourse, a man can always tell you when HE makes it, but not the other way around. Now with tongue and fingertips, it is easier because a man (who is attentive) can often feel the spasms/contractions of a woman’s “O”. The sounds and the movement help tell when a woman is getting there, but don’t tell for sure. To be on the safe side though, I tend to keep on going after the spasms until the sensitivity hits and the woman signals it is time to ease off (although often, just for the hellz of it, I’ll stop for an instant, then start back up to go for number two or a for sure number one, LOL). Again, I was fortunate to have a patient and knowledgeable teacher many years ago that has helped educate me more than a lot of guys.
Bottom line is that if a man is going solely on the moans and sounds, he is BSing you to say he “knows”.

On topic, if he’s that bothered by his perception he should ask her. I wouldn’t recommend he just ask her out right if she’s faking, but next time she has the “standing O” rather than just polite applause, he should ask her, “Hey, baby… I love making you feel that way. Tell me what it is that you like so much so I can do it more often.” As a woman, I LOVE for a man to ask me what (more) he can do to please me.

Ummm, all O’s aren’t on the same level. Some are more intense than others. The body quivers differently, the panting isn’t always the same, the eyes rolling in the back of one’s head doesn’t always occur. If she’s reaching an O, the sheets are wet. If she’s not, she recovers with the quickness.

I think what happens AFTER the woman’s first big “O” can help a guy determine if it was real or not. Here’s what I mean. I’m usually pretty quiet until my first orgasm (which in and of itself is a pretty loud event). Believe me, in our bed, things do not end after that. He’s still got a long way to go, and this is when he really gets down to business. After my first orgasm, virtually every thrust elicits some sort of sound (and no, I can’t help it). I have never understood why anyone would fake it. I can’t fake it. Luckily, I’ve never felt the need to. It doesn’t take that much for me, thank God!
Anyway…one time, while getting it on in the pool, I put my back out. I could hardly move for 3 days!!! I guess it was because of the different, irregular positions you can get into while in water.

I kept doing the “let me speak to your supervisor” thing. finally got to some person that told me that I couldn’t speak to the next higher up because that person didn’t have a phone. you know I went straight off. how the heck you going to tell me a person at the phone company doesn’t have a phone. puh-leeze. don’t know if that fell under the stupid category but they must have felt I was stupid if they thought I was buying that.

Dreams – I don’t care for pool activity either. My only encounter with the pool was eons ago with kid’s dad. We climbed over the fence about 1 a.m., in a really upscale neighborhood (condos of course) and skinny dipped. That was a high for him but I was scared…scared of drowning, scared of getting locked up, scared of being read about on the news…lol Even though I relaxed enough to strip down and get in, it was nothing but a lot of friction.

@ Celisea and Bluz…from the male perspective, Celisea’s advice is absolutely correct. Demonstrate ‘casual interest’ but don’t chase, and don’t let him “see you sweat”. If he is interested he will make the move, if not, then there is no shortage of ’shopping areas’ in the ATL. Men don’t generally take women seriously if thye perceive the ladies are needy. Not good but is what it is.

Bluz — I don’t think anyone here means to pick on you. It’s just that from the outside looking in, it appears that your issues all follow the same pattern. Specifically, that your self esteem seems completely tied to whatever man may or may not be interested in you at that moment. (Just an outside observation from cyberspace, to take that for what it’s worth). You’re clearly a very clever, funny and intelligent person, and I’m sure you’re an all around great person, but you don’t seem to recognize that yourself. Based on the two sides you’re telling, folks around you can see what you’re not seeing….again based on what you’re telling. Now, if for every scenario you give the outcome is the same then that means you haven’t learned a thing. You’re just letting folks talk and clinging to the stuff that sounds good. It’s like having a hardheaded kid, bump it and keep going in circles or wake up and take a different path. Yes, it becomes a pull on the ears to hear the same story told time and time again.
Take the musician. You started talking about him I know over a year ago and EVERYBODY pretty much told you the same thing based on the both sides you painted. Well, you would toss out all the direct seemingly harsh advice and thanks those smoozing things over for you. You would defend all in the same breath of complaining, all the shenanigans. What are we to do with that? Now come a year later you concede that pretty much everybody was right. I mean who wants to hear that when we all knew what the outcome would be…again based on the scenario you painted? Not because we know you personally, not because we don’t like you but the scene in which painted, THERE is no good or different outcome.

Bluz, i come and go on this blog so i am unfamiliar with your struggles. I do think that from what I have read here, ‘I’m swiss’ hit the most important issue on the head. To paraphrase him, you are going to have to separate your self esteem from any man, woman, or anyone else but yourself. That is codependency when you allow someone else to affect your feelings about yourself. I know becuase i have been there, done that, and have a bunch of those t-shirts (fortunately buried WAY back in the closet now).
I can honestly say that when i broke the bonds that others once held over me, my life started climbing quickly. For any of you that have followed me on this blog, once I was a poster boy for codependency, and now I don’t have it at all. NEVER allow others to control your self image or self esteem. As for this blog, it is good to allow others to look at you from the side, and can be honest due to the anonymity. Listen to them Bluz, and try not to take it personally becaue they really do mean to help…even when it hurts.

There’s a difference in tough love and just being mean (I guess to try to be funny). Maybe I’m a little sensitive…idk. I’ve told ya’ll before about some of the issues I deal with. I would like advice, but you don’t have to be mean in the process. It makes me feel unwelcome when people say things like they are too exhausted to deal with me. Well…don’t deal with me. You don’t have to say anything. No one HAS to respond to my post. I’m hoping for helpful advice. I’m not saying I want you all to sugar coat everything, but there’s no need for rudeness. That goes for all posts…not just the ones directed at me.

After rereading my post, Bluz, I want to add one other thing…the best time of one’s life and the most liberating one is when we are free to choose. what I mean is that when one is no longer trying to fill a need, and is instead just concentrating on enjoying life, with or without another person, then one is free to truly enjoy and embrace a real and meaningful relationship when it finally does come along. cut those bonds and just enjoy being you…and the rest will then fall in to place in the way it is supposed to.

Copping a ‘tude isn’t attractive, and being a doormat isn’t attractive…but an “ice maiden” is confusing AND alluring to most men. @Bluz: When I started posting on the blog, it was after the break-up with the ex (the one who called). My very first day here, a blogger said I had a victim mentality. I was offended then, and had many more opportunities to be offended over the next few months. But you know what I have learned about the blog?
1. Have a thick skin
2. The bloggers’ wisdom was gained the hard way. They are sharing in an effort to help others avoid the same pain.
3. People here laugh and cut up with one another, but (almost all!) are kind, intelligent, humorous folks that make the day go by much more pleasantly.
So, all that to say do you remember yesterday when I asked if you had thought about spending time getting to know you? That thought still stands. Once you know you, it’s easy to know your worth and what you will or will not allow in relationships.
Okay, that’s all I have.

Re the aloofness, I suspect that is why Angelina Jolie is so desirable to so many men. She retains an air of aloofness that makes her stand out in a city with thousands of women who are just as or more beautiful. In that movie with Johnny Depp, The Tourist wasn’t it?, i wanted to jump through the screen and I don’t even particularly like her. It is the way she carries herself that draws much of the attention.

ITL – Yeah that was me but I haven’t read it yet. My sister is reading it now…i love to read so i’ll need to be near my thunder stash to get the monkey off my back that reading that book will do. I remember the very first time I ever read a book or novel that contained adult situations. I was on a plane and the previous passenger must have left their book in the magazine rack. So i just skimmed through the pages until I really started reading some very descriptive scenarios that had me wanting to excuse myself to the plane laboratory lol A book allows you to use your imagination in a way that watching a video of fugging cannot do.

I have an O/T piggybacking on Celisea’s thought that some of us can “recognize game” when we see it.
Met this guy on Tuesday. He calls me last night (first call ever) saying he “needs to see me.” He asks me to meet him up at QT in 30 mins. I tell him I’m not doing that. He then asked if meeting at Burger King would be better to sit and talk. Hell no. Says he lost his car due to “the economy” but I should judge him on the person he is and not what he has or doesn’t have. Told him he had a point, but his station in life also determines whether a person wants to go any further in getting to them. Hell, he sounds like we just got out of high school and now it’s time to meet up at the neighboring soda hop. At the point I am in my life, you have no car, you won’t get to know me. I’m no one’s chauffeur.
Oh, he also said we could switch things up and take the bus or train if and when we go out. I wouldn’t always have to drive. GTFOH!!!!

Ah yes I can always tell if a woman is a faker, I’ll give you a hint it’s all in the squeeze, and certain type of squeeze at that. But I have a guilty of faking it too, since how long you last (for a guy) is a break up offense or being Humiliated in front of your peers, holding back too much can cause damage to the internal muscles and can make it very hard to climax for a guy and in some severe cases even functionality. There have been many times where I have been asked “did you get yours” and I say yes just we can stop because once you get so desensitized it doesn’t matter what you do it isn’t happening. It must be nice to just have a hole, even if the oven isn’t pre-baked, slap some lube on there and your ready to go.
