Dating: Faking it?
One of the many challenges of a new relationship is figuring out the other person’s quirks. You can only put your best foot forward so long before you have to let it all hang out. This can be a great thing, though! Well, until you start to wonder what was real and what was fake.
You know I always say that you meet the person’s “dating representative” in the first couple of weeks of dating them. The dating rep is supposed to reel you in, but what happens when the rep leaves?
A friend of mine is trying to determine how much was real and how much is fake in his new woman. Specifically, he is wondering if she was faking the Big O – early in the relationship, or is she faking it now. Apparently, there are stark differences and he doesn’t know what to make of it.
Would you want to know if someone was faking it in bed? Do you think you would come out and ask if they were?
When it comes to sex and dating, where does the real vs. fake come into play before you know the real person? How do you know when someone is being authentic or fake with you?

Cel and Kimmie…I think you’re right that I did overhope a little. I think he is truly a nice guy. Our mutual friend who introduced us just raves about him and says he is really shy and not at all a player. I’m just starting to think that nothing is meant to be. I’m not the kind of girl who can go so long with out a simple text. Maybe he’s lost interest and just thought he’d let it go since I hadn’t reached out. Who knows what he’s thinking. He is a man after all!!! LOL! We’ll see. I’ll wait a couple of days and think of something casual to write back.

Our mutual friend who introduced us just raves about him and says he is really shy and not at all a player (and that’s what I want to think, so I’m going to believe it). I’m just starting to think that nothing is meant to be. I’m not the kind of girl who can go so long with out a simple text (I’m still in the needy phase). Maybe he’s lost interest and just thought he’d let it go since I hadn’t reached out (I’ve considered every possibility). Who knows what he’s thinking (I don’t, and I’ve thougth about nothing else for several days). He is a man after all!!! LOL! We’ll see. I’ll wait a couple of days and think of something casual to write back (I’ll obsess over getting it just right, and then stress and worry until I hear back from him).

I have a friend that I tease and tell her she’s a bad chick. why? because once she was out with her boyfriend and a guy was hitting on her and offering to buy her drinks. when she mentioned that she was with her boyfriend dude bought the boyfriend drinks too. I thought that was so hilarious. not to pull the race card but she and her boyfriend are white and the guy buying them drinks was too. I joked that brothers most definitely wouldn’t be going out like that. heck, a lot of them have a hard enough time buying a woman a drink. let alone a woman and her friend. a woman and her boyfriend would die of thirst. lol.

Thanks Cel and ITL…I’m really trying to not overthink, but I do that sometimes.
He’s just so darn cute and has a great British accent!!! There are a lot of positives about him, but I really don’t want someone who has no time for me. I’d already pretty much given up, but thought I would try one last text the other day. Even then, it took almost 48 hours for him to respond! It’s not so much that I’m needy, but really…it only takes about 30 seconds to write a quick text. If he’s not interested, he’s not interested and I’m ok with that. It sucks, but I’ll deal with it. Not like I’d fallen for him!

Single…it’s not an internet romance (I don’t think I could do that either). We met in person and have been emailing and texting since. He’s supposed to be coming to Atlanta soon, but not sure when. If I see him, I see him. If I don’t, I don’t. No sleep will be lost on this one…I promise!

To be honest…I didn’t really think about him much during those 3 weeks. Occasionally, he would pop into my mind, but I knew his dad was visiting and I didn’t want to bug him. It was just the other day that I said “screw it” and reach out to him. What’s the worst that can happen? He’s not into me anymore (if he was)? Big deal! I don’t want to waste my time with a man who’s not into me. I don’t need to show him that I’m worthy…either he’ll see it or he won’t.
