Best breakup advice?
I was getting my car checked for emissions the other day, and the technician randomly asked me for dating advice. He wanted to know what the best way to get over your ex.
Now I was surprised by a couple of things: How did emissions technician know I was a dating blogger? Men actually worry about this kind of thing too?
I have gone through a couple of break ups, so thankfully I have come a bit more resilient. I didn’t have many tips to offer the brokenhearted emissions guy. Time makes it a lot easier. Distractions are good. What is a good amount of time to get over a relationship that lasted years?
Some people think that men get over break ups faster, but I think they are just better at hiding their pain. What kind of things do you do when a relationship ends?

I’m so wrong for this but Imma say it cause I’m thinking it….
The cute white guy here is looking so fine today that I’m having to stay at my desk. Okay that’s a bit of an exaggeration but I’m just saying. Whew Jesus. Slacks hitting just right, pant cuff hitting the shoe just right. Mmm mm mmm. Pleats laying down in the front.
I’ll be glad when he works through his home issues cause we can’t work together as smoothly as we should with him rollercoastering….just saying. He did let something jump out of his mouth that we all pretended we didn’t hear. We were standing around talking (me, him and a couple of gay coworkers) and well one of the two is “out” He jokingly talked about another coworker vacationing in Dubai and said he’d hate to visit over there and be openly affectionate only to get arrested. So I said, that suxs (open affection being a problem…but speaking hetereosexually of course). Well the fine white guy says “well depending on who your wife is” Y’all know we clutched our pearls and kept on talking. He tried to say a million times in those few minutes “i’m just kidding” Ummm, no you weren’t. Anyhoo just doing like the men do….just mentioning

I know it’s a typical, job thing but being a lowly blue collar worker, I’ve always wondered why some fell we’re uneducated, and can’t talk about the problems of the world?

single and happy – I understand that and it’s a fair question. not all blue collar work is “busy” work. some of it is skilled labor and like I stated I respect work – period. in my defense I went in being fair and open minded. it’s taken me three weeks to determine dude can’t carry a conversation if you put it in a bucket. I’m sure there are lots of highly educated folks who also can’t carry on a conversation.

Disco, I’ve been around some white collar people who’s whole conversation consist of their job, and I’m sitting their thinking (damn, do you have a life?? ) put what he’s doing on the individual, not a whole group. single and happy – point taken. in fact, I think we made the same point. I wasn’t blasting the group. I was just saying that the topic came up in discussion as did a lot of other points. in essence we were just discussing the pros and cons of the brother’s stats. is blue collar job a pro or con? in and of itself, neither. in conjunction with other factors, it could go either way.
