Best breakup advice?
I was getting my car checked for emissions the other day, and the technician randomly asked me for dating advice. He wanted to know what the best way to get over your ex.
Now I was surprised by a couple of things: How did emissions technician know I was a dating blogger? Men actually worry about this kind of thing too?
I have gone through a couple of break ups, so thankfully I have come a bit more resilient. I didn’t have many tips to offer the brokenhearted emissions guy. Time makes it a lot easier. Distractions are good. What is a good amount of time to get over a relationship that lasted years?
Some people think that men get over break ups faster, but I think they are just better at hiding their pain. What kind of things do you do when a relationship ends?

Wow lots of comments and not much I can add. Getting over is a lot like the two main axioms about radiation exposure…’time and distance’. Stay the hell away from a new relationship and give your raw nerve endings time to heal over!!!
That said, I’m thinking a Match.com or eHarmony question should be “are you or have you ever been a zombie or ever listed human flesh as your favorite food?”. Just a thought since the incidents keep popping up

The President of the USA is in ATL today. He was at the Varsity eating one of those nasty hotdogs (yucks!!!). I know he wishes he was back in Washington, D.C. eating at “Ben’s Chili Bowl” the home of the best hotdogs and half smokes anywhere in the USA. I have a break up that I’m not proud of. I allowed a chick to barricade me in my house when I knew damn well I had a date on my birthday with another I had been dating for a while. She called and called that evening (land lines) and I woulnd’t answer so she came to my house and banged on my door. She knew I was home my car was parked outside, I wanted to open the door but the other chick kept pulling me back to the bedroom. I peeked out the window and saw her leaving in disgust she was not stupid she held out for a looong time before she let me back in. I played with fire and got burned never again will that happen.

cba – She’s been all over the news. And still crying about how she’s not a homewrecker, how he’s not a monster and EE was not a victim like folks believe. I do believe it was mutual so no, I don’t think she should take a beating like most homewreckers do while he gets away but I don’t think it’s really resonated with her that that woman was married and dying and IMO she’s shown very little empathy. I don’t have it much for her. Not so much for the affair (if you understand what I’m saying) but the fact that she’s trying to make it okay. No remorse or anything.

celisea / BF – she’s an acquaintance. I couldn’t even imagine the relationship growing deep enough for her to have friend status.
