Ex-files: Are all your exes insane?

I will never forget returning from a night out with a new guy, only to find my ex waiting in my driveway. Psycho cop was not open to the idea of “parting ways” so he actively tried to sabotage any new potential romances.

The young man I was trying to rebound with was patient as any good man could be, but when he asked me, “Are all your exes this insane?”, well I had to own up to my poor choices in men! Is it fair to judge someone by the last person they dated?

What do you do when your ex is not ready to move on but you are already gone? Do you let the new person know that the ex is lingering around, much to your chagrin?

P.S. Did you hear the one about two guys walk into a club and start taunting one another about their shared ex? No punchline. It happened. What would you do if you found out your exes were fighting about you?

I have my issues, but I ain’t crazy. I can act crazy at times. I’ll admit that! At least I admit I have issues and that’s why I go to therapy and take meds…to lesson the crazy moments!

“I always joke that the reason I couldn’t be a lesbian is because I’m too confrontational. while I can say with certainty that I will not be in a domestic violence relationship with a man I don’t think I could say the same if I was a lesbian”

disco — So, what you’re saying is, sometimes you’re just asking for an azz-whooping? lol

slim – I hate to admit it but I was raised up on ghost stories and all that mess. a lot of the family elders insisted their houses were haunted by long deceased relatives. a light would come on or a curtain would move or whatever and they’d be like that was cousin so and so or uncle so and so.

swiss – I’m saying I’ll only push a man so far when he ticks me off but a woman. please, we’d be fighting on the regular. nope. I wouldn’t make a good lesbian. we’d forever be all scratched up and bruised. not a good look.

Bluz ~ I don’t think most women experience “crazy.” I’m honestly looking back on my dating life, and I’ve never gone bonkers on some dude. Sure, I’ve cussed out many, but never blew up phones, send certified mail letters (texting wasn’t developed yet), jump on hoods of cars, hide in bushes, show up at jobs, make a master key and climb through patio door to wait for him on the couch, beg for him to take me back, give my body as a way of keeping him…naw, never did any of that crazy stuff.

I do have friends who have. Like Celisea said earlier, a lot of things can be learned on what not to do just by watching others!

In talking about the fear of dying. I think it’s normal and probably something everybody at some point feel. I just love it though when those saints are making their transitions and fears set aside and they’re ready. I’ve seen it a few times in my lifetime. To have that assurance that all is and will be well when you transitions is profound to say the least.

Sassy, I know it’s just me, but walking over plots felt so wrong to me. I didn’t know where to step or stand. I truly would have preferred to jump on one of the men backs and continue with the burial.

Leggs – I agree with your 2:28. We’re human. Being human allots for reacting. Stalking, breaking car windows, jumping out of trees or bushes (if you’re short…lol), boiling rabbits…yeah all that stuff is crazy

Leggs…I haven’t gone that far. :-) I also have a couple of friends who have. I joined one friend who wanted to track down her man…we had no idea where he was or who he might be with. I just got in the car with her while we drove down the interstate! Another girlfriend was just telling me the other day about some of the crazy things she did in the past…like showing up at her ex’s door when he had another woman over…calling the other woman over and over. I hear these stories and realize that I’m not that bad. Actually…destroying the bass is the craziest thing I’ve done…

jumping out of trees or bushes (if you’re short…lol), – hysterical….

I wish someone would jump out of a tree. Well, didn’t have to worry about that in NYC, we didn’t have any trees.

I rode with a gf to Adamsville looking for her man ONCE. Thank goodness we laughed a lot along the way and I’m glad we didn’t find him. When she wanted to track him down a few weeks later I told her I couldn’t do it and she didn’t need to go. I hid her keys. I left later on after helping her find them. Called her the next morning before she had to leave for work and told her where they were. It never fails, hide something under their nose, they won’t find it. It was in the flower pot in her room (lol).

when I was a teenager I was riding in a car with my aunt when she saw her husband riding with another woman. guess they’d already had issues regarding this woman. my aunt literally started following his car and every time he stopped at a light or stop sign she rammed into the back of his car. this went on for some distance. we finally got to a point where he let the other woman out of the car. my aunt yelled a few choice words out the window at the woman and I’m guessing she dealt with her husband when she got home.

Slim…I definitely believe in spirits. I’ve experienced deceased loved ones “visiting” me. The night after my friend passed away in March, I was laying in bed having a hard time sleeping and I felt a hand on my head. I touched the top of my head to see if there was something else it could have been and when I removed my hand, it still felt like a hand was there for a couple more seconds.

slim – one of my great grandmother’s was a spell lady. folks literally used to come and pay her to cast spells. whether they worked or she was just running a hustle I guess I’ll never know. am I into that type stuff? no, but I do respect that a lot of people are. do I see ghosts around every corner? naw, but I respect the possibility of a few spirits hanging around. in short, I’m not a big believer in all that but I won’t judge and put folks down that do.

bluz – re your spirit incident. after having my wisdom teeth pulled they prescribed me norco. i was home alone but my deceased grandmother an my son were there with me. crazy I know. I was holding conversations with them (telling my son to close the blinds, listening to my grandmother tell me this and that), I felt the furniture shift as if under their weight. it was crazy as heck. I immediately threw those daggone pills away and spent the next few days just coping with the pain. that episode tripped me out for real. i was telling everybody. a lot of people wanted to know what my grandmother said to me but I never did tell.

Cel…I am…I have a friend who will install a door for me…I just have to call him and schedule it.

Another spirit story that happened to my friend who doesn’t believe in all of that…she was the best friend and roommate of my friend who passed. About two weeks ago, she had a dream about him and he told her he had something very important for her and told her where to look for it. The next morning, she got up and looked and found a letter he had written her a while back talking about how much he loves her and wished he could express it better. She’s still having a hard time grasping it!

disco ~ had to laugh at your 2:51. After I gave birth, they gave me Percocet. I was truly tripping. I was laying in my bed talking to people who weren’t there. I realized no one was there when I moved my head to listen to what they had to see only to find no one in the room with me. That same day, I found myself in Houston at the Hilton. I remember a marble green lobby in my altered state of mind. When it finally dawned on me I was still in the hospital, I hit the buzzer for the nurse and told her to take these pills away from me. Haven’t had one since.

I remember when I first started dating my wife, after a couple of dates her psycho ex came out of the wood works. I knew a chick that fine had to have some baggage. Dude was trippin. While she was at my house, he kicked the door in at her apartment and stole her TV (that he bought), somehow he got my cell number and would call me telling me to leave her alone, they were just going thru something and would inevitably get back together. Then he told me she was pregnant from him. Finally, he tried to threaten me. He said if he saw us together he was going to do something to both of us. I felt sorry for lil buddy. That love is worse than that crack and he was on it bad. Needless to say, I had to have an intervention with him; he realized the error of his ways and got the hell on.

I think one should never destroy a musical instrument. Think of a player that really needs one and can’t get one; an under-privileged student, perhaps. That ax could be the greatest thing that ever happened to them. Plus, depending on what kind it was, it’d be worth a couple bucks. What kind of bass was it? Please don’t say ‘pre-CBS Fender Precision’.

Instruments are expensive. We all played music growing up but I know moms and pops struggled to get and with that purchased some second hand. There was the piano for the girls, my clarinet (2nd hand), and the cello I played. My brother’s silver trumpet (2nd hand) and snare and tenor (I think that’s what they’re called) drums. Always always always give it away or sell if you just need to get rid over. Keep them if at all possible. But never destroy.
