Issues getting naked?

One of our readers wrote me asking how she should handle a dating dilemma. She has been dating a man who is a little “husky” and is extremely shy about his body. He was in a car accident last year, so his activity level has dropped dramatically, and he is not at all comfortable at this size.

While he is actively working on getting back in shape, he does not want her to see him without clothes. A lot of people have body issues that can impede intimacy with their partners. When you have this kind of hang up, it helps to be with someone who understands and is supportive.

How do you really show support to someone who isn’t comfortable with their own body?

If you are someone who has this image issue, do you talk about it openly? Would you want your partner to bring it up?

What happens to your dating relationships when you have an issue with your appearance?

Kimmie – Prom time is always the exception IMO. Kids are hanging with other kids so I would allow a bit of a bigger window. The time I mentioned was when I left the house at pretty late and went to a 24 hour place on Piedmont (now closed) with said boyfriend. My mama was livid. I got back like 4:00 ish. She never really set a time but always said let the clock be your guide. We just knew to pick a safe hour and bring it in.

C / kimmie – I think I mentioned on here once that I went home to PA and hung out one night. I returned to my grandmother’s house really late. my grandmother casually mentioned the next day that she heard me come in “fo’ day in the morning”. I didn’t even respond but I was over 30 and getting called out for staying out to late.

C, is that you wishing broken wangs on dudes, that is just deplorable….lol. Fellas there is a secret pill combo that does not involve viagra getting rich on you, or cause the dreaded 4hour steel wang….a simple regimen of Vitamin E (increases production of the special sauce), and Ginko Biloba, (increases blood flow)….it will make a difference…don’t kill yourself on them wang pills.

Merv – Did you hear the Strawberry Letter today? Buddy was a horndog to his wife and made up excuses while having side pieces and all. Then he develops a conscious and tells her about his indiscretions when she’d suspected all along (his words) but said she couldn’t prove. Well when he wanted to get it together and have her come move with him (circumstances had them at one point living separately…did they say work or school), she declined. Guess what…she’d found her someone to love her and be with her. NOOOOOOW the hubby is writing in for advice. Shoulda thought about that while horndogging. Now he’s making up issues talking about the new dude is around his kid. Well if he didn’t want that to happen he should have practiced self control. Boo hoo

So go on and develope fake headaches and what not, she’ll just find another :)

I say that Merv in LOVE

My mom would put the inside lock on after a certain time, so your key was useless and would force you to have to ring the bell

kimmie – We had a storm door that you could only lock or unlock from the inside…So my step dad would always put the storm door lock on knowing darn well I would be coming in late. So I’d have to stand out there until someone let me, then sit up another 30 minutes listening to him talk about what time I got home. That got old though lol

Cely that wouldn’t be the night club on Piedmont and Lindberhg back in the day named VIP 2001. It had multiple bars inside of it and it was one of the clubs like the Lime Light that was famous.

Celisea – The 24hour place on Piedmont – was it that mexican place? Man, we used to love to hit that place after the clubs!! Sometimes we’d even go there as the spot to hang out! We’d see all of our friends there! I wish I could remember the name of it!

Oh Celisea you cannot guilt this one, I don’t believe in cheating, nor can you put that situation on me, nice try though. But heck if you wanna go that way, if my wife (if I get married) told me that, I’d tell her why don’t you go get you a fresh minor right out high school, if it’s THAT big of a deal for you sheesh.

Kimmie/Blackfoote – Yep…the Mexican place. They would serve margaritas…$4.00 for a pitcher….yep. We went there pretty often. That time though was my first time going there with hm.

Merv – Now you know it’s been cool up in here today. Don’t get your shorts in a wad. I’d been wanting to post that and I thought that was the perfect opening. What’s the matter?? Did that really get you riled? If so I apologize Merv and if no one said it ……WELCOME!!!

@Slim — Why only oral buddies? Well @kimmie sounds like she was a little reserved in that department in those days, so I’d have eased her into depravity. Plus, it’s been my experience that once I get a chance to demonstrate my oral proficiencies it’s much easier to coerce more. Lol

Jake – No I don’t so. I’ll know the name when I hear it. You would walk through the line and order, pick up your drinks and then they’d call you back in to get your food. We always sat outside. Dern…that’s be in my head until I forget about it.

Kimmie – Yes it was. You could order breakfast as well as dinner. Breakfast burritos and what not. Very inexpensive but a chill spot.

Off (this) topic: My sister called me and told me our old manager at Dun and Bradstreet was at the cabin with his wife. She was waiting for him to come up to bed but he never did. She went to check on him and he had fallen down the steps and broke his neck…he died instantly. He was only 63. He’d only retired for just a few years.
