Spend any time with a single woman and you will know that we tend to be in the dark about what most men want. We think we know then we happen to spot a great guy who has a mean, wildebeast of a wife or girlfriend, and we get perplexed all over again!
If single women were to ask any random guy: What are the most important traits you feel a woman should have to get your attention, love, commitment? What does your ideal relationship look like? I know I would be fascinated by the varied responses, which would probably tell you a lot about them.
For the record, I am not saying women should conform to some prototype of a perfect female creature, mind you. I just believe that we think we know what men want, but a lot of times we would be surprised to know the truth.
Aside from the typical things like butt-to-waist ratio, breast cup size, and bedroom skills, I believe that men have a clear idea of who they think would make a good match for them.
Let’s do an experiment. Ladies, list the traits you have long believed men want/desire in a mate. Guys, you chime in and let them know how spot on the responses are and which ones miss the mark.
Perhaps a little information sharing could benefit our dating experiences? We can only hope!
Happy Friday!

The fallacy in your line of thinking is that there are 10 things on our list. We don’t need that many. The list for most men prolly stops @ 5. And the big kicker? It won’t change much our entire life.
Which is the exact opposite of the list women make.

It’s a guy thing. We don’t waste time making lists. It’s impossible to describe what we want. But we know it when we see it.

Cooking!!! cooking is a Lost Skill with women these Days..i Grew up in a House where my Grandmother cooked everyday. and if any woman hopes to have a chance to be my wife she must cook for me at least twice a week because if she cant do that why should i marry her? because if i do our family will starve if she want cook for me twice a week. SO i want a woman that can Cook.

I think it’s easier to describe the qualities that we DON’T want instead of the ones we do.
1) Nagging. Women seem to think that their superior nagging skills are an asset. Nothing could be further from the truth.
2) Grudges. Holding a grudge against anyone who has done you wrong since elementary school is a major turn-off. Why do women do this?
3) Romanticizing your 20s. Come on, ladies. Just move on with life.
4) Engaging in sibling rivalries. I’ve never understood why my girlfriends constantly talk about their sisters and then refuse to appear in the same place with them.
5) Living paycheck to paycheck. This is a red flag to most guys.
6) Buying clothes from the junior section. You just look silly wearing teenager clothes.
7) Being too spontaneous. Being spontaneous is OK, but NOT during college football season when we men seldom leave the sofa.
9) Talking about work ALL THE TIME. I once had a girlfriend who worked only 4 hours a day, but she spent the next 5 hours talking about her work day. Leave work at work.
10) Arguing endlessly with people who do a task differently than how you do it. This is probably every man’s nightmare. We men don’t really care how something gets done as long as it gets done. I once had a girlfriend who didn’t like the way I loaded up the washing machine because I poured in the laundry detergent first and then put the clothes in the machine. She did it it the opposite way. Seriously ladies, don’t sweat the small stuff. The clothes are gonna get clean either way.

Um Big All, I have to shop in the juniors section because of my size. So I have a hard job of finding clothes that fit but that don’t make me look like Keyshia Cole’s mama. lol

Happy Friday folks.
I think the number one thing guys want is consistency. We want a normal balance. If she is consistent with you, this will solve a lot of problems.

M. ~ I agree with your consistency thought, but many women are finding that although they may be consistent, he’s not. Not easy to find BOTH who are consistent…that will solve a lot of problems.

The thing about making a list is that for most people it’s a general list, even though they think it’s specific, until they find someone that fits that list. IE: I want someone that can cook, okay she can cook, but she can’t cook southern style. I want someone that wants to get married and have a family, okay we got that but now we don’t pay each other any attention.
You just have to remember the saying, “watch what you ask for, cause you just might get it!!”

I guess everyone should get with someone who is consistent and not waste time with someone who is not. that will solve a lot of problems.

I won’t go into a list because it’s just a given that the Mars Venus thing won’t ever end. I can say all day what I believe a man wants but only a man knows what he wants. I will say though that’s why I buy into the policy of being the best you you can be. I will say though the two things I believe are essential to all men (well not those dudes totally and sold on sex only, sex eight days a week, sex for breakfast lunch and dinner, sex in exchange for everything else….horn dogs pretty much):
A woman of substance
Peace

Good Morning ladies of the blog!
I am a little upset WillieD is Macking on my blog boo Celisea….
Disco are you available this weekend? lol
Big Al that is a great list: WOMEN read and learn………
1) Nagging and Complaining. Women seem to think that their superior nagging/complaining skills are an asset. Nothing could be further from the truth.
10) Arguing endlessly with people who do a task differently than how you do it.
11. Always trying to give directions to save 30 seconds during the trip… What is the point?

Morning everyone. Been a while since I last dropped in. Hope you are all doing well. I don’t know that I have a top 10 list, but if I were to construct one, intelligence, would be at the top. Never cared much for the physical aspects of a relationship. Hell, if nothing else, I can always close my eyes and imagine myself with someone else. So, conversing with her becomes paramount. Most intelligent people tend to be fairly reasonable, which is all I’m after anyway. Stay away from crazy.

My lists usually consist of (1) packing when going on a trip, or (2) grocery shopping and now (3) things I need to get her ready for dorm/college. Just got her a very nice TV from Brandsmart. Biggest item I can now scratch off my list. But a list for what I want in a mate, ummm, I know it when it’s presented to me.

There is only one important trait- that is to be a good person first. If you are a good person, little else matters.
Looks and come-ons will get you dates, but being a good person will get you married, and usually to a good person.

Slow down believe it or not you don’t have to get married within three months of the first date. Lots of women seem desperate to find someone to take care of them and don’t seem willing to simply be friends for awhile.
