When you date much older or much younger people, you have probably had to navigate the age gap. Whenever it becomes painfully obvious that you two are from totally different generations, or have polar opposite outlooks on life. How do you hand the difference in age?
A lot of it has to do with maturity and communication. You find a way to work out the differences by acknowledging them first. It’s not helpful to overlook the pink elephant in the room.
A friend of mine is dating someone a lot younger than he is. Still, he is somewhat surprised how she handles certain situations. I feel as if he should understand that it comes with the territory of dating younger. I encourage him to cut her some slack and remind him how he was clueless at her age too.
Do you ever wonder if dating someone who is much older or much younger is worth all the adjustments that you have to make?
They way I see it, every relationship will have it’s own unique set of challenges. If dealing with the difference in age is the toughest part of the relationship, then that’s not all that bad. Then again, I haven’t dated (many?) 20 year olds in a while either.
What age ranges do you think are most compatible to you? Do you think age matters at all?
How young would you date? How old?

I had steak a few weeks back in Nashville and it was so good that I’m going to try my darnedest to get back to that restaurant when I go back next week.
leggs – glad to hear you’ve got old clothes too. I remember hearing older folks say “I’ve got shoes/suits/hats older than you”. now I’m one of those people.

Leggs – I did a “cleansing” if you will, about a year or so ago. I bagged up so many shoes and took them to the rummage sale they were having at church. I had them stacked and under my bed. I know I cut my shoe selection in half but that was fine with me. I got rid of all those I wasn’t wearing and made room for new ones
Alright Jake and Dreams….besides “gaps” what else y’all wanna talk about? I don’t have a gap so I can’t get in on that one.

First thing I thought about too, Jake, but knew it wouldn’t be cool for me to talk about anyone’s “gap.”
Yes, I do, disco. I wore my red wrangler shorts from 1973 into my late 30’s. No holes, zipper still working (lolol).

So I couldn’t help but to sneek a peek at the Mac website. I’m not cheap by any means, but they are definitely pricey. Sounds like I need to have some stock in Mac! I guess it’s just a matter of preferenc, everybody has something they splurge on.

Exactly, Celisea. They will be replaced at some point. One lady asked me not to give them to the church but to give to her so she can sell them in her garage sale….crickets cuz I knew she wasn’t going to give me the $$ she collected. Guess she thought I was related to Boo Foo the Clown. Nope, I ain’t going there…..

@SexyC ~ lil leggs wanted to wear false eyelashes to prom last week. She comes into my bathroom with glue and lashes and hands them to me. I look at her like she’s grown 2 more eyes and hand her some mascara. She thought it cute to put the eyelases on her bathroom door with a hint of glue to secure to door…they’re still there!!

amen on the not doing fake lashes. I wear glasses and refuse to get contacts. I’m a little bit vain but I’m not that vain. I have never even put eye drops in my eyes. btw – have you all seen the eyelashes that you put on the headlights of your car? I’d never heard of them until a co-worker showed them to me yesterday. apparently they were on groupon and she was going to buy them.

I know the check in my salon is probably curious why I’m always starring at her…lol Okay I’m a bit fixated. She’s sort of “thick” but she can pull it off. Tight jeans, see-thru shirts (everytime I’m there I can see it all), very very very short cut and lashes from her work station to the wall. I don’t think she’s the cutest thing in there nor the thinnest but for some reason she pulls it off. She’s a bit hoochie but I her style over some of the others. She’s is NOT ashamed or afraid to go for it. She pushes the envelope in every way. Maybe that’s why she can pull it off.

Ummmm, here’s my take on POF…it’ seems to be mainly geared for white people. Sure there are black men on there as well. Went to two gatherings and everyone there was white. There are a lot of scary folk on POF because it’s free. That’s what made me go and pay for a subscription. Still jerks there too, but POF is swarming with them. Lots of talk, no follow up and many of those pics look like hillbillies or mug shots….
Remember, you get what you pay for!!!!

There is 10 years age difference and me and my spouse. We met when I was 20 and he 30 yrs. I’m happy to say we have been married for 28 yrs. Two things I can share that helped our relationship was my maturity and our love for Jesus Christ. It hasn’t been easy but, its worked for us and im still happily married and in love with him more now than before.
