There are some people who seem to have it so easy in their love lives. They always seem to have a date and they are pretty resilient to dating disappointments. So are some people lucky in love while others are unlucky?
Why do you think some individuals have better results at dating? Listen, I am the first to admit that dating can often be weird, awkward, and frustrating. It’s not that way for everyone, though!
Is there such a thing as lucky or unlucky in love?
Do you believe that you have been lucky? Have you managed to avoid major injury on the dating scene?

Hi Leggs…one of the learning events of getting older is what a boss told me (while knocking down a notch or two…”you don’t always have to tell all you know”. he was right.
As the saying goes, “there is a reason God gave you two ears and only one mouth…so you can spend twice as much time listening as you do talking”.

Leggs – I was raised more like Leggs was. I don’t have the right to comment on what grown folks choose to wear, just like I really don’t want to hear anyone’s opinion on what I have on, unless I ask. I do have my friend/family member’s back if I see something very wrong. Like if they are dressed too casual for a black tie event. Even then, I know how to approach it diplomatically. Otherwise, I mind my own business. I’m not the fashion police, though I do love the show!LOL!!

Three word comment on yesterday’s topic about how to handle temptation…as the PSA commercial used to say…”Just Say No”. It’s not that complicated.

kimmie – and you know I’m always saying I THINK I’m the fashion police. I’m the one always calling out chicks (in my mind) that are violating the dress code. lol. flip flops, capris, sheer tops – all that is in the daggone employee manual and all these chicks just be prancing around like it’s all good. I wish they had hall monitors for work. I’d be issuing demerits left and right.

Hi Randy ~ how you doing? It’s quite entertaining to me that so many really believe I speak all that’s on my mind. Heck, if I did that, I wouldn’t have any friends, I wouldn’t have a job, etc.
@kimmie ~ I awared a Manager here at work a framed certificate called “Fasion Police. For a man, he had a comment on most things women wore which used to irk me to no end. I had enough when he was telling me about pantyhose and how they don’t keep one’s legs warm. I rebutted with “if you hadn’t tried out alongside Mel Gibson for “What a Woman Thinks,” don’t talk to me about pantyhose, something I wear all the time. After that exchange, I presented him with the Fashion Police Award. Always monitoring what a woman is wearing from the right belt with the skirt, etc. It was quite annoying. I digress….

kimmie – and that “in my mind” was for co-workers/certain situations. I stick by my blurt it all out with friends/family cause that’s just how we do. lol. still – I think I’m more perturbed by the blatant disregard for rules than the fashion faux pas that are committed. I’m also (in my mind) the time clock police. wondering how the heck so and so can walk up in here 15-20 minutes late day in and day out. and y’all have heard me question how many personal phone calls are acceptable at work (I’ve counted as many as 17 with one co-worker). I’ve never been a snitch but I’ve always been a scorekeeper.

Ok, another rant…another “associate” seen me in a good 6 years just commented “well, you’ve gained a “few” pounds since I last saw you. Why do people really expect me to say the same size??? Another think you didn’t need to point out because it’s obvious when I look in the mirror. I think some just need something to say and more than likely prefer to point out the negative side of anything they can get their hands on.

A lot of people are not familiar with the concept of “less is more” either. Legg’s former friend made the comment that the dress was too plain. Some don’t understand classic dressing and that if a garment is well-constructed with rich material, a lot of embelishment is not necessary. You can then dress it up or down with jewelry and other accesories.
I have a friend like that, latino from Miami. Everything has to have sequins, glitter, beading or other bling on it and in a bright color or she doesn’t like it.

Leggs – I’m just shaking my head, cause I get that comment too. Nobody stays looking exactly the same. I think it’s a lot of jealousy, especially if its just a “few” pounds and not enough to land you on Biggest Loser!LOL!!

disco, i simply cannot get that deeply vested in others’ behavior in the workplace. i’m more of a “worry bout yo damn self” kinda co-worker.
i don’t keep track of others’ shenanigans, but i am aware. comes in handy at performance review time.

leggs – putting on a few pounds can be a compliment. I know this is a personal case by case type thing. I know a lot of people are fairly self conscious about weight. having been a “skinny Minnie” my whole life I started to look forward to folks telling me I put on a few pounds. heck, after I put on enough pounds you couldn’t tell me nothing.

@disco ~ coming from most I sense it to be a compliment because I’ve become more womanly (if that makes sense). I was so so so skinny. Even my boobs look good. Anyway, think about it, there’s a reason she hasn’t seen me in a good 6 years.
@disco ~ your 4:26 reminds me of some skit, but I can’t remember. All I know is this person spent entirely too much time clocking what other co-workers were doing. It was a comedy skit, but in the end it was realized how much time she lost the company by paying attention to others (lol).

leggs – greyhound. that’s funny. no lie. I don’t eat/socialize in the breakroom. I don’t attend office parties/showers, etc. I come in, hit my desk, do my work. that’s it. I don’t go to lunch with anyone. I don’t hang out with anyone outside of work, I don’t walk around and stop and talk to folks about their weekends. none of that. I just come in here and do my 8.
