I was watching a panel of men discuss dating and marriage the other day. One of the men stated that to a lot of men, there is not much difference between a girlfriend and a wife. Obviously, this got my attention because I always believed that men had “limited” loyalty to a girlfriend.
Maybe I am being naive but do some men really think that a girlfriend is equal to a wife? Do you believe that dating boyfriend/girlfriend relationships are comparable to an actual marriage?
What do you think is the difference between a girlfriend and wife or boyfriend or husband?
Happy Friday!

don’t know if my ignorance re dark shadows is an age thing or if it just wasn’t on my radar. I’ve never been into the monster type flicks. no vampires or werewolves or what have you for me. I’ve also never been fond of superheroes. no childhood memories of batman, superman, hulk for me and I haven’t seen any of the current superhero movies.

Now I’ve never been one to watch scary movies…of any kind. I remember heading Disney World (my church chartered buses) and someone put in Jeepers Creepers, I was just too done.

celisea – not even wonder woman. I may have watched superheroes occasionally when I was out voted but they were never my thing (you know we only had one tv and if you argued too much over what to watch then no one would get to watch anything).
I’ve never been into horror/slasher type flicks but I do appreciate a good suspense type movie. I remember telling my son about children of the corn (the original one). he watched it and proclaimed that if we were afraid of that we were some punks. the movie itself may not have been that scary but the music still gives me the creeps.

Fion – i’m 45.
this weekend’s weather is supposed to suck (for the most part), but i have a 5k early tomorrow before the rains set in. we’re following that with refueling at highland baker, a couples massage, and an evening at chateau elan. this will be a much needed restful weekend. we’ll end up missing the Piedmont festivals but the live jazz at chateau makes for a pretty good time, so i ain’t complaining.

Lady – Wow, on a coast, that sounds good. One of my best friends live in Philly and she’s been wanting me to come visit her every since she moved. So we are trying to plan for me to come up there in August. As far as my bday plans (6/1) I don’t have any. My other best friend is having her baby shower on that day so it may be another day this year for me

LOL Same thing here. I can see that big ole ugly brown tv now, where the pliers stay on top for turning. After school it was the Flinstones, The Adams Family, The Monsters, Scooby Doo. On Saturdays morning it was all cartoons and Soul Train around midday, Land of the Lost….I could go on

Have we run out of topic convo yet? Well, of course every time you turn around they are talking about the “Think Like a Man” movie that released today. Do yall think women should ‘think like a man’? My thing is, if women and men are wired differently, how in the sam hill are you going to think like the other sex when you have a woman’s brain DUH

I actually think I’ll see the movie. I’m not a Steve Harvey fan as it relates to his book and “teachings” but I hear good reviews. John Legend said it too this morning along with others that it’s much better than intially perceived.

celisea – I also never cared much for Scooby doo. I remember a lot of my cousins just loved Scooby doo. I also can’t stand Winnie the pooh. hate pooh with a passion. I know I know – y’all are probably thinking “what does she like”. hmm. cartoons… I did like the jetsons and flintstones, droopy, foghorn leghorn, speedy Gonzales and some others.
and…. since lady brought up sipping I like tequila, vodka, whiskey, rum, midori. I could go on but why put myself through it right now.

Cel – I plan on seeing it but i’m just talking about the discussion they had on V103 this morning about whether chicks should in fact think like men. I think folks should be themselves & be honest with the people they date. You don’t want anything serious, then say that and also ACT like it…You want something serious/marriage, then speak and act it too. The problems all stem from folks with the playing game mindset or always trying to get over mindset. Folks are just so damn selfish & greedy these days. Then you wonder why folks flip the eff out on yo ass when they find out you’ve played them for a fool. I’m going to be me, I want you to be you and if we mesh then let’s ride this till the wheels fall off. But before the wheels start to show the first signs of fatigue, I want the other person to be just as invested and willing to see how it can be remedied before just looking for another damn ride.
