Dating: Generosity make you uncomfortable?
My friend Joe told me about a woman he met recently who has a little hang up when it comes to accepting kind gestures, compliments, gifts from him. She told him that she is not accustomed to generous men, so when he shows that side to her she gets uncomfortable.
It is sad to think that women aren’t used to a guy pursuing them and treating them with kindness and generosity, but I have met a lot of women like this. It becomes that old self-fulfilling prophecy behavior thinking “If it is too good to be true, it probably is” or does the generosity come with strings?
Have you ever met or dated someone who is put off by generosity? Do you ever feel uncomfortable when someone showers you with romantic gifts?

@Cel: The grand canyon is on the list, because I’ve never seen it. But I was thinking maybe Sedona, too. I don’t know anything about Phoenix either. It does, however, have the distinct advantage of being the hella way from here.

I’d bet DMX’s wife may look like a fool now, but she’s biding her time. I sure hope she is. I’d be damn if I let a man make a fool out of me like that, especially in front of people. She’s biding her time…she has to be. If not, he knows he can walk over her and she’s not going anywhere.

Sassy – I had started watching that show and saw the part where the lady was telling DMX that was a substance free facility but he ended up drinking his Henny out of the bottle anyway. I got sidetracked and missed the rest of the show. So he really said that to his wife???? WOW! He definitely looks like he’s been on something…he couldn’t beleive he was not going to be able to smoke his herb while there. They must really need the $$ for him to agree to do that show. I feel bad for wifey because it doesn’t sound like this is going to put her in a good light either by taking his behavior

Kimmie I read that article,too and thought it was very,very sad. She setting a hell-a-bad example for her children..the boys and the daughter.

ITL…he’s a boy named Radley. I think he’s about 5 or 6. He’s cute as can be. I just worry because he is a protector and I don’t know how he will be around other people. He’s never been around children. He is ok around cats and dogs. If I didn’t have three cats and if my back yard was totally fenced in, I would foster him. I’m just praying that someone will help me. He has several animals that I’m trying to find homes for…

There is nothing about DMX that is attractive to me. Even his money doesn’t make him attractive. Most of it is going to dope, rehab & child support. On top of that he’s a mean idiot. I can see the attraction SOME women have to a bad boy if he’s at least charming & smooth with it. He’s an absolute A-hole to me.
