Tell your mate to lose weight?

Do you know what it’s like to be so caught up in a new romance that you sort of let things fall to the wayside? You get super comfortable being part of a couple and you don’t spend as much time primping, grooming, or uh…exercising.

That’s right a new couple is likely to pack on a few pounds being in love. It is usually something that gets rectified after a couple of weeks, but what happens when weeks turn in to months? Do you tell your partner that they have let themselves go too much?

It is a tough position to be in! You would not want to be the insensitive jerk that dumped someone you really liked over a couple of pounds. I know a lot of people who have a real fear of being in a relationship with someone who let themselves go. Does it mean we are too shallow?

How do you bring up the topic of extra pounds? What can you do if you don’t feel sexually attracted to them because of the weight gain?

Has this situation ever happened to you? What advice can you give for someone facing this relationship dilemma?

here’s a topic for ya. please sound off on whether or not choice of wedding rings should be tempered by your work environment. i.e. manual laborers keeping it simple, corporate types keeping it conservative, high visibility professions going flashy (even if that’s not your actual taste). what say you?

but was that influenced by your field, bf? would the glitz have been out of place?

ex, i was gonna hit you with a wtf, but i see your point. yes … and if you cook. would a chef choose a ring that doesn’t get in the way, or simply go with what (s)he likes and take the ring(s) off as needed.

czBrat, my wife and I both have two wedding rings each.

Purple

February 29th, 2012

cz, the first one she bought me has 3 rows of diamonds and is very wide. Once I left corporate and came back home it was to big for me to be working our farm with so she bought me a band. Initially I bought her a really nice rock etc….but after the baby both the engagement ring and the band would scratch the baby so i bought her a smaller band, hence we each have two. So now depending on what we are doing is how we decide on which ring to wear.

kimmie - the original :)

Brat – I think that should be taken into consideration if it’s a concern expressed by the fiance’. My husband did not want any diamonds or flash, just a simple band. I know a lot of men don’t want anything too expensive because they have to take it off all the time.

Quality was more of concern with me, and I have modern taste in jewelry, not tradional or conservative. I’d rather have something smaller but well-made, unique and stylish. That is what I have. My hairstylist got married a few months after I did and it was awhile before I saw her ring because she could not wear it doing hair at the shop. It’s a beauty though.

Taste and yes, practicality should rule your decision.

When my son begins to play sports at high and college that’s when college sports become relevant to me
Now..no no interest

I feel some parents view sports as way to riches but it’s also a pathway to ignorance

Joe Paterno didn’t care for those boys other than maybe him and Sandusky whacking them.

College sports is some Ignorance Churning Industry!

cz,I still would have bought her the intial ring. I like nice jewelry, rings watches, bracelets and necklaces. So it probably would have still played out the same way. My secondary ring is nice and wide except the diamons and the band are flat this time as not to get caught on any machinery.

kimmie, good input. that’s kinda what i’m getting at. do you think he would have wanted a simple band regardless because it’s his genuine preference? or would partners, judges, clients, etc. look at him sideways if he was sporting something thick and blingy?
that didn’t come out quite right.

simple, hola! my boss is in crested butte this week. she’s not too impressed with what they’ve had to work with. but they’re extreme ski types so i magine they can be pretty darn picky about their powder.
that didn’t quite come out right either.

Any professional league out there for women volleyball or hockey Purp?

Seems like extra curricula activities for me,which is fine but apart from B
Ball for ladies and soccer, there is no profsnal outlet.

Queen was a hockey player in HS

If my daughter wants to play, cool but I be there every practice to keep an eye on those coaches

Purple – Just curious. I have a nice pearl ring that was my mom’s that I wore in the ceremony. My aunt bought it for her at the Mirage. I still have the little white leather Mirage box it came in. I bought a cute little charm shaped like dice, with tiny diamonds for the dots. Got it in one of the shops at the Venetian.
