Ex Files: Rebounding necessary?
According to entertainment reports, singer Rihanna has become a moth to Chris Brown’s flame. Apparently, the two collaborated on two songs and he was even spotted at her birthday bash.
Reading about their reunion made me think about those exes that we can’t get out of our system. It is tough when we should be moving on but are too hung up on someone. Maybe the only way to nudge you along is to find a new person right away.
People often take time after break ups to heal or to regroup, but maybe some of us could actually benefit from a love-life palate cleanser. Someone to distract us from dwelling on the recent break up and prevent us from sliding back to a bad habit or toxic relationship.
I think I have had some of my best dates with guys who were the rebounders – because I welcomed the attention and just appreciated the company. There was no pressure to move things along to the next level, so the only goal was to laugh and have fun.
When you are dating someone new, do you ever ask when their latest relationship ended?
Do you want to know if you are the first post-break up/divorce date? Would it change how you perceived their potential?

Reminds me of my best friend’s dad. When we were growning up, if he and her mom were going out and we asked where, he’d say, “Jukin’!” Still makes me smile to think of that.

Exiled – I’m with Lady, I’ve said I’ve been a fool before. That’s putting the blame squarely on my shoulders, not victimhood at all.
Folks do what they want to do, for various reasons. Even when you are in the midst of Foolhood, it’s also okay to complain. The beautiful thing is we are all free. When we feel like breaking out of Foolhood we do and in our own way & pace. Once you realize that, you know everything will be okay.

I usually have a colonoscopy scheduled every 5 years but I’m running late right now. My sister died of colon cancer so my family need to stay on top of this one.
In my last one, I came too….ugh…talk about feeling pressure. Of course they gave me more meds and knocked me back out but I was awake for a minute.

ITL – yeah i have so many life memories of my Grandma that really everyday any little thing can remind me of her. Just the other day I wanted a Pepsi and peanuts but knew it wouldn’t be the same cause you cause find bottled soda anymore.
Ex/BF/Swiss – I have a few more years for the colonoscopy but i had the prostate exam in my early early 30’s for various reasons. I hated it and thankfully have a few more years before it is part of my annual physical. I am donating to research in hopes of them having a more non-invasive procedure before that time.
Cel – I love chicken and dumplings but that is one of the things that intimidates me as a cook. It is on my list of to do/learn items this year.

Cel – I don’t have a recipe and honestly I keep bumping it back (intimidated). Right now its 3rd on the list after Paella and homemade sausage. I did ask my Aunt for Mama Lillie’s recipe but she don’t write anything down so it may get bumped again. Maybe when I go back home I can get her to show me.
