Attraction: Who gets our attention? Time?

I read somewhere that the type of woman that gets a man’s attention is not always the same type that gets his time. I have witnessed men gawk at the sexy vixen who is turning heads, but is that the type he will end up with though?

I know I can notice a edgy guy who looks like he is a total heart breaker, but would I actually take that type seriously? Probably not! This makes me wonder if we ever really know for sure when the type of attraction we have to people is the kind that will last longer than 72 hours.

When you consider the type of person who makes you sit up and take notice, do you think that person is someone you could actually be around?

Should we trust our initial attraction to pick the person we should pursue?

How do you decide who gets your time after they get attention?

What did you all think about the fashions, particularly Fergie & Nicki Minaj? I’m cool with and expect wild fashions at the Grammys, but Nicki was just trying to top Lady Gaga I think, and Fergie’s “beach coverup” with the granny panties & bra showing was just ugly!

Lady~if you like pure, no props, no gimmicks style of singing, Whitney was one of the best.
I never, ever had the national anthem affect me the way it did when she sang her heart out at the ‘91 superbowl. I posted somewhere Sat that it made me feel real, real proud to be an american.

I do CBA I have been teary eyed since I heard the news I sincerely love Whitney and ALL her songs. I love the good, bad, and ugly of her! I am team Whitney all day! it breaks my heart that now her daughter is suffering and has been for a while too. If you were my facebook friend cba you would see my love for her and all music!!!!! I don’t apologize for the love of music I have its in my DNA! I get it from my daddy and I thank him for it!

cba – I was listening to an interview of Whitney during lunch when she was much younger and she said she was worried about being accepted. She said she didn’t know if people wanted just pure singing. She said she had the greatest musicians and orchestration in the business backing her up, but she was nervous about people really wanting that. Apparently people did!

Why did Chris Brown have to perform twice?

I was looking for something about Don Cornelius, but since he died this year they’ll probably do something about him at the next one. Even though Alicia Keyes did that tribute to Etta James, I noticed they didn’t have Etta on the memorial part about folks that passed, but then I remembered she died this year too. Whitney was such a big talent and died the night before, they had to recognize her.

Kimmie you probably know, years ago she was booed on Soul Train awards. Something about not having enough soul. smdh I just like people who have exceptional talent whether it be music, sports, artists, etc. In my lifetime, she and Luther were very exceptional.

Don’t know if any of you remember this, but when Whitney first came on the scene, I and some friends saw her at Moonshadows for, get this, $6.00. She belted song after song and new that young lady could get her chops around any song and sing it beautifully. My friends and I were talking about the young lanky kid who had a “testing the waters” concert here in Atlanta

@kimmie ~ lil leggs asked me why Etta’s picture wasn’t on the memorial. I tried to hedge my answer by saying the opening tribute by with Alicia and Bonnie Rait was a tribute to her then relented by saying “I don’t know, but it should have been there!”

What’s the fcking deal with coc and All the other hard drugs?

Why can’t some of these so called celebs stay away from such harmful and addictive stuff..?

(I’m assuming that’s what took Whitney too)

I also hope that Ray J had none to do with this either…hopefully they didn’t snort together and then he left her to die by herself. He was at the hotel together with her.

“Why can’t some of these so called celebs stay away from such harmful and addictive stuff..?” – HUH, you answered your own question.

It’s “addictive.” Once you’re addicted, you hear it calling your name in your sleep. Mind over matter no longer works, and the deeper your pockets, the deeper your addiction!

Exiled – I didn’t quite here it that way. CNN got it wrong that Ray J found her. Supposedly it was a bodyguard that happened to be named Ray. I heard that an aunt or other relative was there helping her get ready for the party that night. She had gone swimming with her daughter earlier that day and everyone said she was happy. Her aunt layed out her dress she was going to wear and Whitney got in the tube. 30 minutes later she came back and Whitney had passed. They are saying it was a lot of prescription drugs around and she may have mixed them with alcohol. I think coc was what she had used in the past though.

dear sweet ex…. don’t waste your energy worrying about that one. folks will always be getting high off of something. natural drugs, manufactured drugs, prescription pills, alcohol, inhalants. and folks have their own reasons for doing it. some to party, some to escape, whatever. besides that – are drugs the problem or is addiction the problem because there are all kinds of addicts. (and typing that I thought of microphone fiend…”I’m just an addict, addicted to music”) – I get distracted easily.

I don’t know any vice that isn’t addictive, Ex. Some probably feel they know their own limits until they are in throes of the addiction. Drinking, gambling, eating, drugging, porn, etc….

What I don’t understand are the meth users. It’s widely reported with the first use of the drug you are sucked in. There I can see your question, Ex, why try it???

Some people start out recreational believing they can handle it, but before long it handles them. Some win, some lose (unfortunately)…

I discovered recently that I have lower back pain issues, probably from lifting stuff I had no business lifting. The dr prescribed some muscle relaxers and 2 pain killers. I took 2 of the prescription painkillers, but I decided to try other remedies, like stretching and other exercises. I don’t want to get hooked on any medications. My remedies are working too!
