Dating perks: The gushy stuff

As much as I hear single people proclaim their love of being free, those same people will completely trade it all in to be with someone great. Single life has its moments, but how awesome is it to meet someone and be caught up in the haze of “love”..be honest!

That butterfly feeling you get when you see them calling. The naughty thoughts you have about them during the day. Waking up next to a person who literally makes you feel like you can conquer the world…all that gushy stuff is FUN.

What do you think are the perks of dating a great match? Do you enjoy the getting to know you part the most? Do you relish slipping into a comfortable routine with one another and merging lives the best?

Sometimes, it’s the little things that you get those gushy feelings over! What’s your favorite?

Guys – we know you get that gushy feelings too – no judgment, though! What is your favorite thing about a new romance?

Happy Friday!

When coupled up, it’s a wonderful thing to build on the “anticipation” of seeing each other. The delight one gets when seeing an email from them, their name across their phone screen, etc. is a stimulant that makes the day a little better.

“Do you relish slipping into a comfortable routine with one another and merging lives the best?” – Kinda sorta. We all need a “routine,” yet even that “routine” needs to be shakened up every so often.

Slipping into that comfortable routine and merging lives together is the best part. Falling asleep with her in my arms, waking up next to her in the morning, sharing a cup of coffee in the early morning hours. Those are the real feelings of falling in love, after the first few months of butterflies and infatuation fall to the side you can really tell if you’re going to be together if you enjoy time together while not doing anything, or you can just pick up and go without really making plans and have a great time together.

A quick call to say good morning after days we haven’t been together, a text before bed to say good night, a mid-day email letting me know she’s thinking about me. Those are the things that really make me feel like I matter in her life.

Building off yesterday’s topic a little, to me romance is never about what you can buy me or what you can do for me, it’s about how you make me feel about ‘us’ and making me feel appreciated and that she wants me to be part of her life.

Good morning honey lambs, and Happy Fabulous Friday!!

There’s a reason countless songs have been written about falling in love and being in love. It’s the best natural high! And those gushy, butterfly-inducing actions/moments? They’re the icing on the cake: when he kisses me goodnight, turns to leave and comes back for one more kiss, and then one more; holding hands, even when you’re just watching TV or in the car; the smile on his face when I walk into the room (and wondering if he can see my heart beating out of my chest because I’m so happy to see him). There are so many sweet moments that I love and treasure.

Good flirty Friday!

I love getting the ‘just thinking of you’ text, calls, emails…the cutesy verbage shared between the two of you, seeing them at the end of your work day, having a partner to do things with, sitting on the couch watching a movie and being comforted by that mere touch of their hand resting on your leg, lookig forward to the good bye kisses & hugs in the morning when they leave for work, or the sweet surprise of a note written on a steamy mirror after a shower….I could go on but no need to bore yall

I love holding hands. Not just holding hands, which is great, but when you’re in the car or walking along somewhere and you just realize that you’re holding hands and you don’t even recall thinking about doing it. When it becomes a natural subconscious act to have that simple, physical touch together.

Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic, but it’s the simple things like that more than the big overt gestures that let me know someone’s feelings for me (and me for them) are genuine.

as i’m reading the topic i’m saying to myself “who says you can’t have all those gushy things and still be single?” i’m sure it’s just semantics, but i consider myself single until i get married. i suppose WD meant single=not in a relationship.

having said that, i see some great points being made all around. it’s what i call the “newness” of a relationship. and like kimmie said, i hope we never lose it.

Preach czBrat loving yourself first and being comfy in your singleness is the foundation!!!!

That leads me to a question I’ve been pondering. Once in a relationship (for those who are and married) does that mean you have arrived in a sense?!? That this is what folks seek the most to be apart with another?!?

disco

brat – I agree with you on the single until married bit. I can’t stand when chicks refer to their boyfriends as their husbands. I once read this – “Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”

Morning Folks!

20 months into the marriage and I’m still experiencing the gushy stuff. I love the posts today!

For us, we’re always touching. If we’re sitting on the couch watching a movie, it might just be my foot under his leg, but we have to be touching to be comfortable. Even in church, I have to sit close enough to him so that our arms are touching. We always falls asleep touching. In the middle of the night, if we discover we’re not – we fix it. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to find we were holding hands one time.

I guess you can tell what our mutual love language is, LOL.

Have a great day!!!

lady, the work i’ve done thus far has been primarily for the betterment of myself and my kids. being in this committed relationship means (to me) that i “have arrived” at a place where i get to keep putting that work in, but now learn to factor in the betterment of another person and of US. in other words, getting here is not my destination … it’s just a new path on a continuing journey.

Hey Kimmie! Hubby was singing (well trying to) Love on Top this morning as I got my window kiss. LOL, he had the words and tune all wrong, but I loved every second.

Window kiss – every morning he walks me to my car and I get a kiss through the window. If I don’t get my window kiss, my day doesn’t go right…

disco – I don’t know a lot of women that refer to a BF as their husband! When dating, I would have never wanted a guy to hear me refer to him as that. I would not want him to think I was trying to sweat him! I can’t stand to hear dudes refer to their girlfriend as wifey either. It’s kinda ghetto to me, cause I think in my head he has no intentions of making it official. Now if she’s really his wife, it’s okay, just a pet name.

From across the room, i am sneaking peeks at you and it makes me smile. It turns into a game at times, as I keep a watchful eye for any sign that you’ll catch me. Then I think, if I get caught how will I play that off?… but I continue to take that chance…My mind is all over the place but you can always tell when it get mischievous because that smile comes with hungry eyes. I say hungry eyes because my thoughts awaken a hunger for you…a hunger filled with passion, excitement, desire. The mental picture I paint in my head could be part of any hot, steamy novel about us. Your dark, smooth, silky skin that I imagine being covered by my kisses. Your strong, stern physique…those arms…chest…overall that seems untamable, I picture coming to me and embracing me w/such a firm gentleness. Your dark sexy eyes, I picture connecting w/mine After they’ve scanned my body. If your eyes could talk, I’d hear them saying how sexy you found me to be, tracing my lips to my neckline, over my shoulders to the small yet engourged breasts, canvassing over my super erect nipples as if you wouldn’t mind a taste…to tracing my small curvey waste, admiring my body art before you glimpse down to my moist nature. Even though it only takes a second for this process, it feels like time stops to allow a slow summary taken of my body.
My breathing now deepens and my body seems to move w/o instruction. I’m anticipating your smell…that smell I look forward to so many times…that smell that makes me feel home. But more so, I yearn for your touch…the chills I get from the first contact of your lips to my skin. My head is thinking so far ahead that I just wanna take you, straddle you, kiss u passionately and let my love pour out BUT I want to be patient. I don’t want to rush…I want to be submissive to your plan and let u have me in the way u want to. You have a hunger and I’m the meal. Strongly anticipating the entrance of your stiff throbbing manhood inside me…wanna grab your back in a tight embrace…and let our lovemaking be the pen in the writing of our own real live poem…souls connecting. All this so overwhelming, I can see my eyes welting up with tears. Tears bc I’m being in the moment with you, so open and all that is inside is overflowing. Then that moment is close…the moment when u go into a different dimension and all is ok and nothing matters but here & now. Our previously moving bodies are at a halt but the warmth still remains as the only sound is that of our rapidly beating hearts. Thinking there is no place else I’d rather be….

Thanks for the feedback on The Secret. I’m ordering it today.

I really do believe in the laws of attraction. I also believe that if something is on your heart and mind, especially if it’s positive, it’s good to share it. The last couple of days a friend that I’ve lost touch with has been on my mind. I was thinking about how much I’ve grown over the last year and realized that he, among others, was a huge support in helping me to get on the road to where I want to be. I finally sent him a text last night to tell him. I’ve gotta think that when people impact your life in a positive way, it’s good to say thanks. :)

Women would come and show off their Birkins and they could purchase or swap them. They had a guy there that was a Birkin expert. He could sniff out the fake from the real. One lady had an orginal vintage Kelly bag that was really nice. She also brought another Birkin in and put it on the table with the other Birkins. The expert deemed it fake, though a very nice fake, and told the host. She was nervous because she said those old rich women are serious about their Birkins! “Merkin (first use 1617)[1] is a pubic wig. Merkins were originally worn by prostitutes after shaving their genitalia, and are now used as decorative items, erotic devices, or in films, by both men and women.”

“I was watching this show last month, forgot the name of it, about these women that run a consignment shop in NYC. One of them had a merkin party at her home. Women would come and show off their merkins and they could purchase or swap them. They had a guy there that was a merkin expert. He could sniff out the fake from the real. sometimes they will automatically bring you hot water to put your stuff in
as i  and somehow try to apply that logic to my own profession, this is what i get; let’s give a new tenant keys to their suite AND automatically hand them a complete set of new locks/keys for after their first break-in.

Now, now, ITL… Don’t fret. Someday some dude will be smitten enough to give you a proper back door tongue lashing, too. And when he does, you’ll think it’s a beautiful thing… ;-)
