Hello single people out there! I know this is official couples season. It’s the time of year when people are getting engaged, taking vacations together, and behaving like lovesick teens. It’s sweet! It’s endearing. It’s also …absolutely annoying to see at times.
Don’t get me wrong, I love romance and watching people fall in love. What I don’t like is getting the pity looks, sympathetic stares, and “your time will come” spiels from the smug and coupled up. Just because it is couples season doesn’t mean I have to be depressed about not being in a relationship! I have the right to be jolly!
If you are determined to make it through the next couple of weeks, you are going to need a game plan. Where will you go? What will you do? Where can you go to avoid the holiday madness?
Do you ever feel down about being single this time of year?
If you are single right now, how do you maintain your holiday cheer?
What is the best part of being unattached during the holidays?

Senior dues cover the graduation but why not march across the stage, get your diploma, shake hands, turn tassel to other side of cap and at the end of the ceremony toss your hat in the air and call it a day (lol).
Anyway, back to regular scheduled session on being jolly around the holidays. As long as no jolly, fat arse drunken man bother me, I am good (lol).

Leggs – That pleather diploma-cover, cap, gown & tassel, rental of venue where that stage is, printed programs – all cost money. Even if they had it in the gym, there would still be some costs associated. Everything is just super-costly now.

hey y’all. I’m a day late and a dollar short but I made it. so…. y’all are talking new years celebrations. folks got outfits picked out or do you have to go shopping? guess my real question is – what are you wearing?
a friend of mine just had twins graduate high school in 2011. that chick started crying the blues about this time last year and just stopped crying a few months ago. I ran across my son’s overpriced yearbook last weekend. think it was about $75. the boy didn’t even value it enough to take it with him when he left.

@Just remembered this. In cafe this morning, a regular from the credit union is at the counter. He tips his hat and winks. Nothing unusual there. I was talking with another coworker so when he walks by he asks me to stop in the back where he eats his breakfast with others. He says he just wanted to tell me how nice I look in my dress. I say thank you and pivot to walk away. He says “today is my last day here until the new year and I would love to speak with you over the holidays. Can I have your number?” Ummmm,
Hell no he didn’t. I sit down and look him square in the his eys saying aren’t you a married man of 30+ years? You should be shamed. He laughs and says “thought I try, but I knew you wouldn’t bite.” Foolish man and disrespectful to his wife (no I don’t know her, thank goodness).
Ladies, are you finding you’re getting hit upon more and more over the holidays by married men???

heck – forget the big school expenses. even school lunches got me. in my day there was free, reduced and full price. reduced lunch was 40 cents and full price was 80 cents. before it was all said and done I was allotting my son $4/day for school lunch. (I think lunch was around $2.50 or so and I allowed for a la carte items). folks told me that I should let him pack lunch but those folks obviously didn’t understand that it wasn’t worth it. boys eat too much. I’d have been pitching a fit every time I went in the kitchen and there wasn’t any bread.

Leggs – Disgusting. Yes, I did seem to get “extra” attention from the marrieds during the holidays. I think they feel extra bold because they think because you’re single you might be lonely during the holidays. They have an article on essence.com ironically entitled “are you settling for the holidays?”

BTW I have posted a couple of times on the Falcons’ blog that Ryan has
hit a plateau. I don’t think it’s a plateau that will take them to the “Big Dance”.
