A guy once told me that he was advised by his mother to never give women money. It seems to be a way to suss out which women wanted him as a sponsor instead of a partner. If a man showed no desire to help a woman out financially, would that be a sign that he is smart or inconsiderate?
Women today generally prefer to hold their own financially. I don’t know a lot of women who have a salary requirement for the men that they date. I wonder if they would look to test a man to see if he would be a good provider, though. How important is being a provider to women?
Do you think men today use wealth to attract women?
Guys, what are your thoughts about your money and your confidence? Are the two related?

That line is so funny to me. I can just picture the bathroom attendant monitoring how much Polo he’s putting on, making sure he doesn’t exceed the $3 mark.
Oh, and the “white-trash Shania karaoke”….that makes me giggle, too.

@ disco…one of my favorite songs is “I Don’t Want to Close My eyes” by Aerosmith. If I remember correctly it is one of the few by Aerosmith that Steven Tyler did not write, but the lyrics of it hit a nerve. Great song.

A really funny country music song for anyone who has ever done anything really stupid because of a woman, is by Dierks Bentley called, “What was I Thinkin”. First time I ever listened to it was at church. Andy Stanley was doing a series onn making good decisions and before the sermon, a group came out and sang this song. Funny but hits home.

I try my best to hide it.
“Glances at the divorce rate”
“Glances at the Gianormous list of men I know cleaned out”
“Glances at the divorce rate in Aviation”
Conclusion: I’d rather be a Lonely woe is me than just another Statistic. As some men ruin it for other men, ladies ruin it for other ladies and that’s the truth.

@disco ~ I quoted “Dido” yesterday….she has a haunting voice on some of her songs. White Flag got into my bones.
The one song that truly gets into every fiber of my being is Angel by Sarah McLachlin. It’s a sad, yet beautifully sung song.

Hey Y’all
I haven’t online since this morning and I am not sure if anyone make this post; however, I would like to comment on Fion’s earlier post…
EVERYONE, MALE AND FEMALE… ABSOLUTELY need a Man to validate them…
its the truth, and it’s life, so please do not allow your masculine or feminine ego to be hurt by this fact.
The man (the father figure in your life) needs to validates you as a man or as a woman as you mature into an adult; if those needs aren’t met, the you will most likely spend a great deal of your young adult life (prime child-rearing and married years). That’s why its so important for the man to be available in the life of the child and at the head of the household… no amount of “so-called modern” socialization is gonna change this basic fact.
Conversely everyone needs the warm, protection, and milk from their mothers as well as the love and attention from their parents throughout their childhood.
We all have to remember that no one, absolutely no one comes here on this planet alone, nor can make it all on their own; not even Jesus could have done that.

@ disco…one night a lady i was dating took me to a Mexican restaurant that had a Mariachi band. I saw her whisper in the band leader’s ear and the whole group came over and played (first let me say that I am a Vol)…”ROCKY TOP”. They were awesome. It was hilarious. You never know.

**oops major typos**
should have read **then you will most likely spend a great deal of your young adult life (prime child-rearing and marrying years) being too immature for an adult.**
**Conversely everyone needs the warmth, protection, and breast-milk from their mothers during infancy, as well as the love and attention from their parents throughout the childhood years.**

LOL@Randy. I love mariachi bands. We were in Ensenda once, and the bandleader came over and asked if we’d like a song. All I could think of was “La Cucaracha”….I’m sure he was thinking “Gee, thanks, stupid gringo lady….no one EVER asks for that!”
