What happened to chivalry?

There is this perception that women today are treated with less chivalry. I always consider chivalry another form of kindness. I am optimistic and a bit of a romantic, so I don’t like the idea that women are treated with less kindness in today’s society.

When I am on Marta, I still see men giving up their seats to women and children. I still notice men taking up for their women if they notice any signs of disrespect. So when people ask what happened to chivalry, I like to answer with another question: What happened to kindness?

Do you believe that we are generally less kind to one another? If women are treated with less chivalry, do you think men are less appreciated?

How do you define chivalry? Do you think it is necessary and needed?

Um…I….um…have my phone so I can call 911. (lol)

Actually, I am the Queen of Pick Up The Heaviest Thing Close By And Go To Work. One time, it was the leg off of a glass coffee table that had gotten broken.

If anything should go down while I am home, I’ld like to think I can get to at least one of my knives. I’d hate to be in any one room caught off guard AND unprotected. Bronx girls are known to be pretty good knife throwers (LOL)…unfortunately!

Slim Nu if you ever get the urge to replace that bat and happen to be downtown by the CNN center, you can get one from the Braves store there…I even got one for my lil sister many moons ago and she still has it.

I think a lady living Aline ought to have a gun

Wad reading another blog the other day and this chic said a burglar got in and she happened to wake up….the gun was on her pillow and she popped the sucker with it…

she asked him,as he was lying down dying,if he intended raping her…

Dude said ‘yes’ and she kicked him in disgust ..as he lay to die..

Funny, chilling and sad at the same time

Oh…and I’ve got GiGi…except the other night, when we heard something fall upstairs, we both looked at each other and didn’t move a muscle.

Turns out it was just something falling over….but still…..WE weren’t going to go all Becky and go try to find out what it was.

I read court transcripts and you would be amazed at the number of female assault victims who said they woke up to someone standing over them in their room. y’all mentioned knives spread out around the house – another good one. old cell phones. you can still dial 911 on those jokers and I’ve got them throughout the house as well.

We keep the alarm engaged whenever we are home. Even in the middle of the afternoon.

I am usually pretty cool with being home alone, especially with the alarm on. However, for some reason, I feel the most paranoid or must vulnerable when I’m in the shower. I guess it’s because you can’t really hear anything while in the shower, plus if caught off guard, you’d be totally nekkid AND clean. That’s a rapists ideal target I’m sure

I know what you mean. In every horror movie ever made, somebody buys the farm in the shower. Well, almost every horror film. And doesn’t it seem like little creaks and squeaks are magnified 10x when you are in there??

I don’t do all that, but now that we are talking about it, I’m thinking of getting a water gun and filling it with pepper spray. “Freeze sucker!”, while you’re dripping wet pointing a super soaker at him. LOL

LOL. That used to scare me, too, Slim. That, and when someone walks up and taps you on the shoulder while you’re vacuuming. I scream every time.

Back to chivalry and kindness:

Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
Sit on your ego.
Talk less; listen more.
Slow down.
Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

PEACE~

Dreams – right on!! All the men on here whining about being “nice guys” who get crapped on – in my experience they have a fatal flaw. Usually it’s their victimhood.

Have a good day, y’all.
