New relationship? Avoid Facebook

So you are excited about your new guy/girl. Things are going so well, you just can’t believe it. You are both on the same page – Great! Just don’t get on the same Facebook page. No good can come from it.

Sometimes new relationships are fragile. The slightest bump can cause a crack and it all becomes a mess in a matter of hours. I just watched a new relationship plummet to the breakup abyss because a certain guy had not let it be known he was off the market.

What looked to be an innocent comment left on his Facebook wall by an ex-fling/girl of the week/booty call contact, became the source of a huge fight. Could this have happened if not for Facebook? It’s possible. I just believe that until you are in a solid, trusting relationship, Facebook contact with your new guy/girl should be avoided.

Do you think that social media is to blame for a lot of break ups and dating drama? So many things can be misconstrued and misinterpreted, but we insist on finding ways to put it all out there.

What is the best way to handle a misunderstanding that happens on Twitter, Facebook, etc.? Would you ever confront the person you are dating about something they said or had said to them?

Is this another dating challenge we have to contend with or is it really about how you handle it?

interesting take, sexy. i’ve often thought that, but i think it’s more my unwillingness (is that a word?) to admit these things are really happening in the world. i rather stay in my happy place where such scenarios are pure fiction.

so the letters are made up by attention hungry listeners or desperate show producers? or perhaps a little of both???

ctfu @ hazel. now THAT was funny!!!

There’s a button that says “it’s complicated?” Sounds disrespectful to me to be putting that on FB. Why blast your relationship like that? Is that code for “I’m hope to explore new things if you’re interested” to anyone reading that status?

I have a question. While at a meet this weekend a friend asked about online dating and some of the pros and cons. I told her one of the cons for me is people asking for your number and not using it. She said it wouldn’t matter to her if he never called, if he’s who she wants, she has no problem doing all the calling. Do you agree with that. Doesn’t seem right to me. Let the man at least show some interest in pursuing you other than asking for the number.

leggs – I thought she was going to say it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t call because that makes it easier for her to eliminate him as a contender. she shocked me with being willing to make the calls. still, some chicks are like that and not just about phone calls. don’t get me started on the tales I know of women paying for the company of men in one form or another.

Sociopathic ex-BF (whose juggling skills were slipping due to an oxy addiction) busted himself out last winter, after layering the poo on me once again about how much he loved and cared for me. First, the woman he went skiing with kept tagging him in her “where am I now” mobile app, alerting all his other female “friends” on FB to his vacation with her. (Business trip, huh?) I stopped taking his calls. A few weeks later, he messages me with the whole, “Hey baby, need you, can’t wait, kiss kiss” nonsense, trying to set up some comfort for his impending return home… only, he sends the same message to another woman too, not realizing that FB made it a three-way convo. Heh… THEN I went off on him — at which point he turned on me in a frightening way for “making him look like an ayy-hole” to the other woman who was in the process of doing his taxes for him for free. SOCIOPATHS: Walk away, people. Don’t ever look back!

Furthermore, if you bust yourself out on FB, you officially no longer have “game.”

@disco ~ her stance was “I go after what I want.” If you want me too, we can work together. But damn….

She said it with just fierceness I got scared. She could just be talking smack because she’s been married forever.

[I find it funny all the people that criticize those on FB….are hanging out on a blog.]

“That’s because you’re an idiot. ‘Hanging out on a blog’? Now, a lot of folks posting here appear to have little else to do during the course of a day, that’s true; but ‘hanging out on a blog’? Come on.”

So if the men don’t get the number how do they pursue her or any woman for that matter.

If the men don’t call it means they have enough on their buffet.

If she does all the calling….well…

She’s after the dyicks,it seems…

And those dudes will smell it from afar!

Let her make some mistake, she’s grown!

married forever as is in recently no longer married? in that case I give her a free pass to go out there and handle her business, have some fun and then get back serious. seems like a lot of folks do tend to go buck wild after a divorce. they get to thinking they missed something out here but it doesn’t take long to realize they haven’t missed much.

Leggs some couples are like that from the very beginning and it works for them, I can’t see myself doing all of the calling though, I can say that I do most of the calling in this relationship because I want to and I have too much to talk about but my calls are limited to once a day :)

Afternoon All,

FB – I don’t have a problem with it. If I did i wouldnt be part of it. Find your lane and if whats posted (pics, status, relationship, etc) then stay away. It is another form of Social media. Some folks prefer to interact that way and some don’t. It is another form of choice, exercise yours. Simple as that to me.

It happens in real lyfe too,a chic giving a guy a number but never wanting to puck up the phone.

The guy has to look that as one that was not really interested.

So it would not be surprising for one to see some chic, get interested enough to ask for a number but not follow thru because somebody ‘better’ or more desirable came along.

Just online Misadventures.
