Unhealthy relationships..literally

It’s so funny how you start dating someone and take on some of their habits, quirks, and lifestyle. You begin to share the same behaviors, some good, some not so good. Sometimes you even become influenced by them. It’s like sexy peer pressure.

What happens when you start dating someone and pick up their bad habits? For instance, my friend Brad hated cigarettes. He meets Gina and suddenly he is not only fine with cigarettes, she has him smoking cigars! The things we do when we are blinded by love, right?

Have you ever noticed a bad habit you picked up after dating someone? Why does it seem as if we become so impressionable when the person we are seeing starts to influence our lives?

How do you know if your relationship is unhealthy and how do you handle it if it is?

yeah. y’all need to hush up on the shopping topic. I’m shopped out until my budget is re-upped. still, the past few weeks I hit a few licks at the mall and the outlet. new business suit, new athletic wear, new shoes. heck, I even got new bakeware and picture frames for home. still need purses but I’m off shopping for at least the next two weeks.

I was shopping last week but that was for mommie’s b’day. I look for the kid something (always) but she’s a size zero so that ain’t exactly easy. I can find her size at places like Talbots and Ann Taylor but those styles are a bit “old” or too conservative for a teenager. I can though fallback on Old Navy and Gap to grab a few things but it’s HARD shopping for size zero

I have always been about 20lbs over weight. I starting dating a very slender guy who can stand to gain 15-20lbs. I took on his bad habit of eating junk food day and night. In our 3yr relationship I have gained 20lbs. Now I need to lose 40lbs.

Morning All – (Is it still morning, dayum long nights shorts days i tell ya).

On Topic – Nope, didn’t pick up any bad habits from the Wifey. If anything had enough bad habits on my own and noe prolly dropping a few habits because of Fatherhood, husbandry that needed to go.

Leggs – funny list early on. I am indeed knee-deep in shopping for my lil princess. She has a B-day in 2 weeks and the things she is asking for is totally out of my realm. We told her this is the last B-day party (10) that she is getting before 16. I told her she wouldn’t get anything unless she had all A’s. She’s only made 1 B in her life. Whatta you know, report card last week all A’s. Now she asks for a spa and makeup party for her and 10 friends (I absolutely don’t do makeup, not even lip gloss). Shot that down without discussion. Now its a chocolate party, dayum gonna cost me bout 3 large for her and her friends. Guess I gotta step up cause she is taking care of her end of the deal.

so far my size/weight has remained consistent so I’m a big off season shopper. it’s like getting two thrills. the thrill of the bargain when you buy it and the thrill when you rediscover it next season. last weekend when I was pulling out my fall sweaters etc. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the stuff I’d stockpiled since last year. the shoes I bought last weekend were summer shoes. I just took them home and shelved them. I’ll likely forget about them before sandal season returns but, like I said, it will be a nice little surprise to re-discover them next year.

Everytime I see/hear about one of those chocolate fountains, I think about an episode of The Vicar of Dibley that still cracks me up. Short version: She (the vicar) is alone in the room with one of those fountains, the host returns to find her face and clothes covered in chocolate from her head-first dive into the fountain (well, not dive, but you get the gist of it)…..

Based on past experience, I’d rather he didn’t, because men I have dated in the past tend to be “I know what I want, l walk into the store, I buy it, I leave” type. I’m a browser….and yes, I might come back and buy the first thing I looked at or nothing at all….

Typically for me no. If I’m looking for something and having a time finding it, Imma need patience or I’d rather you find something else to do. If we’re just shopping for nothing in particular and hanging out doing lunch and all that stuff…nope it’s actual a nice day :)

@ Blackfoote..I just got this old joke this morning about this very thing..men going shopping with the wife.. its long..but I have diplomatic immunity from blog tickets.

RETIRED/BORED HUSBAND

After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target.

Unfortunately, like most men, I found shopping boring and preferred to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women – she loves to browse.

Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter from the local Target:

Dear Mrs. Harris,

Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a commotion in our store. We cannot tolerate this behaviour and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your husband, Mr. Harris, are listed below and are documented by our video surveillance cameras:

1. June 15: He took 24 boxes of condoms and randomly put them in other people’s carts when they weren’t looking.

2. July 2: Set all the alarm clocks in Housewares to go off at 5-minute intervals.

3. July 7: He made a trail of tomato juice on the floor leading to the women’s restroom.

4. July 19: Walked up to an employee and told her in an official voice, ‘Code 3 in Housewares. Get on it right away’. This caused the employee to leave her assigned station and receive a reprimand from her Supervisor that in turn resulted with a union grievance, causing management to lose time and costing the company money.

5. August 4: Went to the Service Desk and tried to put a bag of M&Ms on layaway

6. August 14: Moved a ‘CAUTION – WET FLOOR’ sign to a carpeted area.

7. August 15: Set up a tent in the camping department and told the children shoppers he’d invite them in if they would bring pillows and blankets from the bedding department to which twenty children obliged.

8. August 23: When a clerk asked if they could help him he began crying and screamed, ‘Why can’t you people just leave me alone?’ EMTs were called.

9.. September 4: Looked right into the security camera and used it as a mirror while he picked his nose.

10. September 10: While handling guns in the hunting department, he asked the clerk where the antidepressants were.

11. October 3: Darted around the Store suspiciously while loudly humming the ‘ Mission Impossible’ theme.

12. October 6: In the auto department, he practiced his ‘Madonna look’ by using different sizes of funnels on his chest.

13. October 18: Hid in a clothing rack and when people browsed through, he yelled ‘PICK ME! PICK ME!’

14. October 22: When an announcement came over the loud speaker, he assumed a
fetal position and screamed ‘OH NO! IT’S THOSE VOICES AGAIN!’

15. Took a box of condoms to the check out clerk and asked where the fitting room was?

And last, but not least:

16. October 23: Went into a fitting room, shut the door, waited awhile, and then yelled very loudly, ‘Hey! There’s no toilet paper in here.’One of the clerks passed out.

ITL:
Interesting cause I figured that’s what men do that’s the only way I can go in a store is to know what I want get in and get out. It’s been a while but when I went with a friend I should have just dropped her off and picked her back up later.
