Sex: Does it mean anything?
A friend of mine is knee-deep in a relationship that she didn’t go looking for. Apparently, it was one of those booty call to boyfriend kind of transitions that isn’t necessarily premeditated.
One could argue that once sex is introduced in a dating relationship, it changes the dynamics. Does it have to mean the same thing to both of you? When do you know that it does or when it doesn’t?
Sex doesn’t always mean exclusivity, but do you think it should?
What impact, if any, do you think sex has on a new relationship?

I mighta sliced and diced some stuff back in the day. I’ve only been blind with fury, no holds barred twice. The first was kid’s dad…I was young and let loose IN EVERY WHICH WAY. The 2nd I had to be all reserved and classy cause I was a grownup.

Dudes have been letting disco get away with that crazy stuff. I would have locked her in the attic for a good two weeks, shaved all of her hair off and then burned my initial into her scalp with a clothes hanger….yep that’ll teach her.

now – so that y’all don’t think I’m that bad I have to try to redeem myself by saying. I was young and a product of my environment. I’ve grown, matured and moved away from my family. it’s a shame that that is part of the solution but my family is wild and at heart I’m just like them (kids don’t take after strangers). so I live in a different city, visit on occasion and try not to get in trouble while I’m home.

@Blackfoote….I have put the fear of God in a man or two..I actually put my son’s father and his roommates out of their own apartment. Clothes..shoes…peanut butter..all went flying out the door…but disco..that was just plain beautiful..Oscar worthy!

I have a young cousin whose husband went and sold her furniture (this past weekend…cause he needed money. WHO DOES THAT???
Now he ain’t my man and naturally I won’t be that upset but had I been her in her shoes with 2 little ones and a trifling husband. Upon entrance, I would have broke a bone or two with a bat….seriously.
Sometimes I think a bit of crazy unleashed on some of these dudes will help learn better for the next chick. For BluEyedGurl, I ain’t gon lie, if I was her and a few years younger, Idda got that joker.

purple – I just happened to have some hair dye in my apartment. he spent the night with me which is probably part of why he didn’t suspect me. it’s funny, when I talked to him a few years ago I mentioned how that other woman (the OLD one – ha ha) used to always pick at me. he swears he didn’t know and says I should have told him (like he would have handled it). still he and I are still really cool to this day. If I wasn’t “so mature” now I’d give him some for old time sake. I digress….

My kid’s dad respects me in EVERY way and knows not to play with me. Granted I’m grown and over him (which is part of what fueled my anger). Girl I could you stories where I reacted in “the moment” that would have you thinking twice about me. On one Court visit for Child Support, his new stepmom wanted to get all huffy and I looked at him (and his dad) and asked them, “umm do she know me?” The both said at the same time, ummm naw so and so you might want to back up…you don’t know her like that and I don’t think you want to. Yes after a few words, she sat on down…all up in my koolaide and not knowing the flavor.

I would love to say that I’m past all that but the real truth is that no one has taken me there lately. I know it’s still in me but just dormant. heck, I let it be known that I come from a long line of crazy. true story. my grandparents have 12 kids. around about the time when they only had 4 or 5 kids my grandfather came home drunk and slapped my grandmother. my grandmother says she took her kids to her sister. went home and tied my grandfather to the bed and commenced to beating his drunk behind. after she got tired of beating him she called the police on herself. she says because she was afraid to untie my grandfather. she ended up spending the weekend in jail. it was written up in the local paper (she still has the yellowed clipping in a photo album) and my grandmother says my grandfather never raised his hand to her again.

Sometimes in gest he was call me crazy (not proud…just saying) but I’ll be daggone if a dude thinks Imma lay down and take what’s on the bottom of your shoe.
I think though “growing up” changes the dynamics of crazy to some degree. I use to tell him “you bring it out of me” but I dunno, you sort of grown and learn how to hold it down, how not to let your emotions rule you. A woman ruled by emotions can get tossed from one end of the spectrum to the other. From allowing herself to get used and abused to allowing crazy run her.
Diva – I think having a day of folks (men and women) posting “crazy” stories should be fun.

Well I’m thankful to say that I’ve never had my windows smashed or property vandalized. I’ve only dealt with one TRULY certifiable crazy woman, and even she later admitted that the fact that I never got upset about anything really frightened her. She claimed that it was just a matter of time before I exploded on someone and that she truly felt sorry for that person. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but I just try to stay out of crazy situations…that way I never have to find out if she’s right.
