Ex-Files: Who is your Kryptonite?
Most of us have dated enough people to have found their personal kryptonite. That one person who renders us stupid, powerless, and unable to make rational choices when they are around.
I had one and I am convinced he no longer has that power over me. It helps that I changed phone numbers, office locations, and I no longer see any mutual friends. But whatever. The point is, I can pretty much relax about him since he won’t pop up anywhere.
It’s strange how these people even get this kind of influence over us. It can be sex-induced, love-induced, or perhaps a mixture of both. Once you figure out how they became your kryptonite, you should be able to combat it.
Who is your kryptonite and why? What was it about them that made you a big pile of confusion?
What do you do to break the spell of people who have you feeling caught up and in a daze?

I’ll say that Matt’s story doesn’t add up. He comes on talking about how he got cheated on. Then he whines and whines about how other dudes always get the girl and he cant find a good one. Then he talks about how much fun he is having partying and with a one night stand on top of it. Either I have his story mixed up with others or he’s dyslexic. At any rate I dont care enough to care.

When cosmos first came out, I was visiting home. A friend took me to a club on 125th street. After a few cosmos at $15 a piece, I wobbled to the dance floor with him, only to wobble back to my seat. I was tore up!!!!!

sassy, your post reminds me of these folks here in my office. they are HUGE on fishing and hunting and storing all their own meats. i listen to them talk about how they have to be desperate to buy salmon or fowl locally because the palate simply cannot stand it if you’re used to having it fresh. i guess i’ll just remain blissfull in my ignorance.
when one lady mentioned dove hunting i almost fell outta my chair. i mean what the he!! did a dove ever do to you? LOL

Gone ‘head and fire up the grill Willie! Since I’ve decided to let go of the turkey/chicken and started eating alot of seafood/fruit/veggies my friends have been really supportive…when we get together they make it a point to have something I can enjoy.

Sassy – thats good of your friends. The Wifey is on this Turkey, Fish and Veggie kick now. I can get with some of it but I have a thing for Steak.
Brat – fresh is fresh. Some folks don’t know no other way. The industry has tricked everyone into thinking grocery store is the new fresh. Hard to beat freshness that never got on a truck or plane.

now willie, i’m sure you know i spent my fair share of recess in the backyard with the animals that would later appear on my plate. i’m no stranger to freshness, but you won’t catch me calling my mum in panama making arrangements for her to freeze dry and express ship local foods because i simply CANNOT stomach the stuff at the grocery store. i mean, i don’t often judge folk, but i do believe that is the epitome of ridikulousness.
