Ex-Files: Who is your Kryptonite?
Most of us have dated enough people to have found their personal kryptonite. That one person who renders us stupid, powerless, and unable to make rational choices when they are around.
I had one and I am convinced he no longer has that power over me. It helps that I changed phone numbers, office locations, and I no longer see any mutual friends. But whatever. The point is, I can pretty much relax about him since he won’t pop up anywhere.
It’s strange how these people even get this kind of influence over us. It can be sex-induced, love-induced, or perhaps a mixture of both. Once you figure out how they became your kryptonite, you should be able to combat it.
Who is your kryptonite and why? What was it about them that made you a big pile of confusion?
What do you do to break the spell of people who have you feeling caught up and in a daze?

I don’t I have ever known a woman able to “break” me, but if I do have a Kryptonite it would be eggs, I don’t care how you cook them they are gross. It’s like chewing on a flavorless slimey booger kinda like raw oysters uhhhhhhh gross.

When I read Matt, I picture a co-worker back in the late 80’s. His wife cheated on him and they divorced. This guy only weighed about 145# but he probably got down to about 115#; a really sad, sad picture. He apparently bounced back and remarried because the last time I saw him, his weight was back and he had regained his color.
She was a big flirt, he should have seen that train coming.

If your spouse cheats on you…you are right they should have not done that but you have to look at yourself also. Hope you recover at some point, whatever you do don’t turn gay.

Willile, you missed the updates. I see her often now and don’t do anything besides say hello. Besides I just realized I know someone who may be my kryptonite but I don’t deal with her on a level that is toooooooooooo personal. Okay maybe just a little. But no damage has been done. LOL

Nope, reason it was so bad was that the people that knew to protect me and didn’t, stabbed me in the back. I lose a cheating wife, that’s one thing but losing all the friends that lied to me for years that is entirely different. I admit that I need to drop it, I admit that it’s not healthy to harbor hatred, I admit that all of you are absolutely right, I am in control, I have new friends I man up to what ever comes my way, I back down to no one.

Reading over the comments; I will agree I hate cheaters too, in biblical times they were put to death, understandably so, the grief and pain it can cause a person, in some cases drive a person to suicide.

Leggs, CB, Celisea appreciate the concern, pretending or not, I am havin a good time, may be a band aid, but I got my standards, I live by them, my friends that I have now are better more loyal and honest with me, I got their back and they got mine. I am blantently honest with everyone, but if you ask me to coddle the people that cause other people pain, I cannot do that, if you ask me to hide it from anyone, I will not do it, I will stick my nose where it doesn’t belong to protect people I hardly know. End result, I have more and better friends then I did before, I stopped my binge, I paid off all my debt, you think it’s a band aid, I think it’s beginning to live life again.

Cel/Matt – I said married “folk”, in this case it just happened to be the woman in here telling the story. I don’t normally comment on such, things, like how some used to condemn others that confessed to knowingly doing the do with marrieds, but sometimes silence gives consent. The parties involved have to deal with the consequences of their actions. This is nothing new, married folks cheating, and it’s been happening since the beginning of time.
The main thing I really was disgusted about was chick trying to justify it. And come on forums such as this or Steve Harvey or whatever trying to act all woe-is-me. You big enough to do it, you big enough to deal with the fallout. Ain’t got jack to do with me!
