Caught in a love triangle?

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a love triangle? No, not the sexy one..the annoying kind. I’m talking about a love triangle that is completely unplanned, unwelcome, and unbearably annoying.

You meet someone great and things seem to be going really well. One day, they happen to mention an ex that is still in the picture. Oh, they aren’t “involved” anymore, they just decided to stay in each others’ lives. Then they tell you the person is married and was also married when they were involved.

What would you do in this situation? If you get the sense that the person you are dating still has feelings – and possibly sexual intimacy with someone else, shouldn’t you run for the hills? Would you try to talk it out and give it more time?

How do people manage to get themselves caught in a love triangle, anyway? If you are hung up on somebody else, shouldn’t you take a break from dating? This is worse than being the rebound girl/guy!

If you feel a strong connection with someone, would you be willing to “stick it out” until the love triangle situation goes away or is that a emotional suicide mission?

Is it truly possible to be torn between two people? Isn’t one of them getting the short end of the stick?

I hope so, too. I can’t even begin to imagine who thought that was a good idea. If I were her, and I saw that episode, I would be ashamed of myself.

Almost as bad was that girl whose friend wanted her to be a bridesmaid, but she would only agree if the dress was a color she liked, and it mader her look beautiful, and and and…. she was trying to make the day all about her and using whether or not she would be in a wedding as a weapon against her friend the bride. I wanted to smack her with a stiff net crinoline.

Well cba since 1995 ~ 112 people have died from this particular kind of amoeba..since it’s so rare a treatment hasn’t been found. Also, it’s theorized that many more people are exposed than develope this disease..why hasn’t been determined as of yet.

SC – no, she was thin. Very thin, really, and flat chested. It’s funny, but what I remember most were her braces, her mile-long fingernails, and these awful orange socks she was wearing. Kinda funny, isn’t it, how when someone makes a bad impression you look for more things “wrong” with them?

But the bride was more on the healthy honey side, and looked like she had a lot of Indian (as in Asian, not Native American) in her, if I’m remembering correctly.

It’s always somebody other than the bride trying to make the day about them! I dealt with that too.

Best thing you can do is have as few people as possible involved in YOUR day and only let people know about things on a need-to-know basis!

If that doesn’t work, ELOPE!

After seeing this show, I think that’s good advice, Kimmie. These brides that come in there with 12 people to give 12 different opinions just frustrates me.

The show has sweet moments, too, though. Like the girl who wanted a pink dress to honor her mother being a breast cancer survivor. She came out in the dress and the mom started sobbing and I did, too! So sweet.

@cba ~ main reason I don’t swim in lakes.

Did any of you see Say Yes to the Dress when this african american woman from England was on vacation in NY w/her fiance and they tried on the perfect wedding dress. It was different in every aspect and she wore it with perfection. A bit much than they bargained for since they only had their vacation money and wasn’t expecting to find a dress so quickly. They walked out w/o buying the dress. Her body was made for that dress!! She was stunning.

Gotcha – I saw an episode where this god-awful maidzilla was just being a bitch. I just didn’t get it. When my sister was planning her wedding, I went along with whatever. The only thing that I had a problem with was the fact that she made her bestie a co-maid of honor at the last minute. I was like, “Whatdahell?!?”

But in the end, it ended up being no big deal. Especially since she made that decision after we’d ordered the dresses and the bestie’s dress ended up being just like the rest of the bridesmaids. I was the only bridesmaid with a dress that was strapless like the bride’s. So…I *looked* like I was the only MOH. (lol)

Why did it matter? Quite honestly, it was kind of an ego thing.

Jake – I just was throwing a jab at the ladies for talking Wedding dresses. When we talk sports some of them throw a flag.
But, to comment on your post. Honestly, I am a Cowboy fan. Could really care less bout the Falcons. I think the falcons are still 1-2 yrs away. Yall have a very good team and its hard to break through to being a great team. The secondary issues are compounded by the pass rush issues. Can’t pay everybody.

Speaking of co-maids, did y’all see that episode where the girl had “bridesmaids” and “honorary bridesmaids” She had two of each and wanted them to wear different dresses. The distinction was that the bridesmaids were family and the honoraries were friends, but all she ended up doing was making the honoraries feel like second class citizens. It was cool in the end, though, bc the honoraries got the prettier dress.

SC – Thats the best stance to take at the end of the day. It is your Wedding, take ownership from the start and everything will be alright. When I was getting Married the Wife would ask what i thought about everything. Not that i didn’t want to be involved I just knew better. I just said “fugg what everybody else says or thinks. Its your wedding day and do whatever makes you happy. As long as you say i do i don’t give a dayum bout all that other isht”.

SCool – That was our attitude and that’s what I like about the things you’ve been telling me concerning your wedding. That actually was the problem I had with other people more than anything. Some couldn’t take it when I decided to do something OTHER than the way it’s ALWAYS been done! If I was 21 and mama was doing everything for me, maybe they’d have had an influence on me. But I’m a grown A– woman, with my own mind and tastes and desires about how I(along with hubby) wanted things done. Plus, if we payin, we sayin!

I’m glad my ex-wife found a cheap second hand wedding dress. My ex-father in law and ex mother in law divorced the month before we were married leaving us holding the bag for the entire wedding. Took 2 1/2 years to pay that sucker off. I even had to pay for my brother in laws tux. Glad that dress didn’t add a few thousand more.

@ Exiled…watched the ladies team in their World Cup and they played the ball at their feet better than the USA men’s team did. I’m hopefully now that Klinnsman is coaching the US team. That combination of he and Matheus on the old West German team was beautiful. Klinnsman was one of the most intense stikers I ever watched.
