Caught in a love triangle?

Have you ever found yourself stuck in a love triangle? No, not the sexy one..the annoying kind. I’m talking about a love triangle that is completely unplanned, unwelcome, and unbearably annoying.

You meet someone great and things seem to be going really well. One day, they happen to mention an ex that is still in the picture. Oh, they aren’t “involved” anymore, they just decided to stay in each others’ lives. Then they tell you the person is married and was also married when they were involved.

What would you do in this situation? If you get the sense that the person you are dating still has feelings – and possibly sexual intimacy with someone else, shouldn’t you run for the hills? Would you try to talk it out and give it more time?

How do people manage to get themselves caught in a love triangle, anyway? If you are hung up on somebody else, shouldn’t you take a break from dating? This is worse than being the rebound girl/guy!

If you feel a strong connection with someone, would you be willing to “stick it out” until the love triangle situation goes away or is that a emotional suicide mission?

Is it truly possible to be torn between two people? Isn’t one of them getting the short end of the stick?

Oneof – yeah, some do thrive on the unattainable! It may be something she just has to grow out of. At some point she’s going to get tired. Hope she hasn’t scared off too many nice guys before she wakes up though.

oneof:
You know if I had the answers to just a thimble full of questions, I’d be happily married with a big house on the hill. One thing I do know is women and their emotions can’t be parted and you have to be able to deal with both aspects. Your sister and her I can get him if I want mentality likely is an issue she had when she was a child and denied something close to her heart.

lol@BF. You mean Arthur didn’t offer you the job first? :) Seriously, I saw him play live while he was still at Bama, and he is something serious. Same thing goes for Moreno… watching Denver play on Sunday, I was transported back to those hot afternoons in Sanford, watching him in awe. Football on TV is okay, but live…..man!

@SC ~ I got on that treadmill yesterday and inadvertently did my running on an incline. I heard the maching clanking along but had no idea the darn thing moved. Next thing I knew, I’m holding on wondering why does it feel like I’m running up a hill. It took me a moment, but I figured it out. Declined it (whatever the term is) and walked the rest. Did 2 miles (33 mins.)

I came to value myself enough to remove myself from love triangle situations at the first sign of them. It’s a lesson that I could have stood to learn sooner. But hey, such is life.

Morning All,

Good Topic – on the surface its a no brainer. Why subject yourself to something so toxic? As you think about it its something that most of us went through knowingly or not. A womans emotions seems to trump good old common sense. The problem is that when you find out and continue along with the status quo then thats just insane.

@WillieD ~ it’s easy for us on the outside looking in to say it’s insane. Watching friends and hearing other stories, breaking away once you’re knee deep in with your emotions is a very difficult thing to do. You know it’s wrong, but you’re so caught up in some weird fantasy the person forges on. Eventually, eyes are opened and the colored coded lenses have broke. Viola, back to reality. I have a friend slowly coming back around. I try not to say too much, but her pain is great (even though it’s self-inflicted..tsk tsk)!

Leggs – True dat. Also to be fair and balanced, Some Men sign up for the same thing. Whether we call it emotions or simping, It is rampant. Once the facts are out on the table and you still engage then I have no sympathy or empathy. You are no longer a victim and at that point become a willing accomplice.

Wasn’t it Phyllis Hyman who was caught up in a triangle, and her emotions got the best of her and she ended it all. My heart was broken cause I thought I had a chance with her. (Of course it was in my dreams)

Kimmie I say Jill when she was at Philips Arena with Maxwell. She does put on a great show..I like how she interacts/relates with the audience. She opened for him but with the way she put it down and Maxwell did not, he should’ve opened for her instead. Her vocal range is awesome.

Willie I like Jill’s work..but I don’t think all of her best stuff comes from heartache/rebounding…I’m sure some of it came from that place but not all. Now that I’m thinking about it her very first cd was all up beat n stuff cause she was in love at the time. My name is J-I-L-L S-C-O-T-Teeeeeeeeee….

Her dad is/was Gil Scott…remember him? The revolution will NOT be televised

Phyllis was caught up with Norman Conners. I think he was married. She was bi and so distraught over being so unhappy she ended her misery. What a beautiful woman and a beautiful voice. She was so photogentic.

I see many agree that this is a “no-brainer” but your brain is always over-shadowed by emotions when love/intimacy is involved. A love triangle could be a messy situation for some but ideal for others. I guess it all depends on how much emotion you put into it.

Sassy – maybe you are right. It’s just the songs/albums that stick out to me are the rebound/heartbreak albums. i like her because it seems her albums are a soundtrack to her life. You can hear and feel the happiness/hurt in her songs. Its refreshing and different from the cookie cutter approach of artists nowadays.

Leggs – as much as you win you need a team of a few ladies and their information. When you win use a diff name and info and continue to reap the benefits.
