Do you return gifts to the ex?

I have never been comfortable accepting extravagant gifts from men I am not in a relationship with or seriously dating. It just makes me uneasy to the point that I could not enjoy the gesture because I am too busy worrying about the motive behind it.

I just think that if things are going so great, we will have plenty of time to spoil one another. Why change the dynamics of the relationship by bringing in big ticket gifts? What happens if things go horribly wrong and you spent a lot of money on someone and start to regret all those gifts?

A friend of mine recently broke up with her man and they had only been dating less then a year. She wants to give back the car that he bought her. Yes, that’s right a car. To be fair, he owns a dealership and probably could afford to let her keep it. I just don’t think she should have accepted it in the first place.

The car actually became an issue for her when deciding if she would break up with him or not. See? This is why things change when money and finances get involved in a dating relationship! What do you think? Should your extravagant gifts or financial loans be returned to your ex post break up?

What is your position on gift buying and exchanging in dating? When is it too generous? Is there such a thing?

Have you ever spent a lot of money on one person you were dating? Did you regret it?

Would you ever ask someone to return a gift you gave them when you were together?

Simple…..Also if I am a CEO of a company who produces goods for the middle and lower class. You raise my taxes, what do you think I am going to do? Who do you think ends up paying those taxes?

OK..UGA..Let me see if I can get you to understand this…..In this country, The top 20% of income earners control 93% of the total wealth!!! 93 %!!!!!!!! The notion that these folks will somehow suffer if they are asked to pay an additional say 3 or 4% is frankly speaking insulting. Today teh average CEO earns 310 times that of his average worker…310 times!!!! until you can explain that desaparity any point you can make is moot……

Sorry to crash the party in the men’s corner, but I have a question. UGA, I don’t understand your argument but I would like to. You’re saying that most people who make over $200K are responsible for creating jobs (which is inaccurate, but that’s beside the point) and that if you tax them more, it will be passed along in the price of goods and lead to jobs being cut, businesses being closed and moving overseas. My question is, how does increasing taxes on a CEOs personal income to be better aligned with the percentages that the average Joe pays cause the mayhem you described?

What I find amusing is those people who earn 75K or 100K and they consider themselves wealthy.
As one blogger posted on the Buffet article, if you are paying alot in taxes ( I mean absolute not %) you are making alot of money. And yes, UGA, I think you should make all the money your ability allows and pay not one penny more in taxes than required.

The fact is I believe that taxes should be raised very minimally on the ultra wealthy. However we have to fix our system and have the lower 49% pay something in taxes.

The federal government has to cap spending and make cuts in areas that can save sufficient amounts of revenue.

Girl, I was hoping you would see that. I was cracking myself up on that one.

Judge: Madam foreperson, have you reached a verdict?
Me: Yes, your honor
Judge (to Leggs): Will the defendant please rise? (to ITL): Madam foreperson, how do you find?
Me: Oh, judge, she’s not guilty all the way. Didn’t you hear her say he was gonna push her in a nasty pool? Do you have any idea what nasty chlorine can do to your hair? Not to mention that other stuff. Oh, no. She can go free. And he needs to pay restitution.

Did UGA ever answer any of the questions posed to him or did he simply create new questions for each question that was asked of him?

Simple fix to the tax problem:

1. lower the rate down 16%
2. eliminate all current corporate and individual tax breaks
3. issue tax breaks for corporations to hire and tie those tax breaks to number of new hires and layoffs.
