Dating under the influence
Call it one of life’s lessons: outside influences should not impact your relationship. Some of us had to learn the hard way. Like the time you over shared something about what was happening and it backfired on you.
We all have well meaning friends and relatives who want what is best for us. Sometimes they may get a little carried away and interfere, which actually could make things a lot worse. You could end up getting bad advice from someone who really should not have been able to influence your decisions or behavior at all.
Have you ever been influenced by people to make certain dating or relationship decisions?
How much do you share and how much do you keep close to the vest?
Would you ever dump someone because they were not liked by people in your circle?
One of my friends is seeing a woman that does not get along with his best friend. It is starting to become a problem because the best friend and girlfriend clash a lot. This leaves him sort of stuck in the middle. What would you do in this situation? Play peacemaker or keep them apart?

Oh no, ITL. That immediately made me think of the movie Undercover, where the code was “I think you have something in your eye, let me get it out for you!” I think of it every time I hear someone talking about something in the eye. It’s an immediate flashback.

one of my fb friends posted this info. all of the comments seem to lament the firing saying stacy is the best actress on the show. maybe it’s just me but the once or twice i popped in on that show i thought her acting was absolutely horrible.
btw … there’s been much hullabaloo about how good stacy looks for her age. i just found out shaun robinson is 49 (i think). now THAT chick looks gooooood for any age!

@czB ~ there was a blog on Single Ladies this morning. It seems like a lot of people love Stacey Dash and not so much LisaRaye, but recognize the show is good because of the two of them together.

recognize the show is good because of the two of them together.
I thought so,too. I liked the finale but I feel like it could’ve been stretched out at least 2 more episodes…I hope there’s a season two and both ladies come back…cause that ending was too much of a cliff hanger but I guess that’s what the producers want.

Sorry but I couldn’t really get into the Single Ladies show and I never thought Stacey was that great of an actress, and that goes for Lisa Raye as well. Maybe I’ll get into it next season.
Did you all know tha the Sister Sister chicks have a reality show now? (Tia & Tamara) One is preggers and one is planning a wedding. I was shocked at how disconnected they appeared to be for them being twins and all. One part of the show had Tia, or Tamara, not sure…discussing a blog about her fiance (white) and they said some mean things like She was his black wh0re..

If u talk about ‘them’ as Africans,then ur opinions in them won’t be very informed!
I guess you group them as ‘Africans’ kinda in a derogatory sense but I wouldn’t know.
To be able to know their culture u got to know where there are from because ‘Africans’ don’t belong to the same country. If I say tribe,I may even be compacting things.
Where were they from,those Africans who were kinda shocked at being asked to open a beer?
Not Zimbabweans,South Africans,Zambians or citizens of sub Saharan Africa, I would presume.
But then it’s hard to say.

@ SlimNu…re:…taboo. When i was in Officer’s Basic at Ft. Bragg ti was a game betwen the whites and the brothers about who would “eat at the Y”.. It was till taboo then for the AAs. and the standard answer was “if God meant for you to eat that thing, he’d put a spoon in it”. Confidentially though, one of the brother’s told me there were only two kinds of blacks that would eat (fill in the blank)…those that said they did and those that say that didn’t.
