Dating under the influence
Call it one of life’s lessons: outside influences should not impact your relationship. Some of us had to learn the hard way. Like the time you over shared something about what was happening and it backfired on you.
We all have well meaning friends and relatives who want what is best for us. Sometimes they may get a little carried away and interfere, which actually could make things a lot worse. You could end up getting bad advice from someone who really should not have been able to influence your decisions or behavior at all.
Have you ever been influenced by people to make certain dating or relationship decisions?
How much do you share and how much do you keep close to the vest?
Would you ever dump someone because they were not liked by people in your circle?
One of my friends is seeing a woman that does not get along with his best friend. It is starting to become a problem because the best friend and girlfriend clash a lot. This leaves him sort of stuck in the middle. What would you do in this situation? Play peacemaker or keep them apart?

Morning Gang!
I’ve always tried to keep my business to myself. I learned early on not to tell close friends and family anything, especially family. There was this guy that was “planning” on doing me dirty in high school. I got wind of it and dumped him. Running my mouth and told my older sister, who worked at a local college. Lo and behold, he was a senior and had applied there. My sister talked about him to some of her coworkers who worked in admissions. Bingo, his acceptance and scholarship they were going to offer him vanished. Dang, he was a dog but I didn’t mean for it to go that far! He ended up going somewhere bigger & better anyway so it worked out all good. But that’s when I realized my family played it kinda gansta!LOL!! Anyway, any guy I dealt with had to be somebody I could be proud to bring around family.
As for friends, I’ve always kept them out, but a few tried to come to their own conclusions looking from the outside. All up in the koolaid and didn’t know the flavor. I love em, but they still got the hand.

Blackfoote, exactly. I don’t put anyone in my business or entertain someone speaking on my relationships. I am very family oriented, there is not a day that goes by that I do not see a family member so that person has to fit in the circle and become part of it.

To the topic:
This is again one of those things where as I learned better and did better.
As I aged, matured, grew into my own person, starting caring less about others’ opinions – not saying that some opinions don’t have value, stopped trying to analyze my partner’s every move, started communicating with my partner about our issues, ish in relationships got a heckuva lot easier.
Now, I share *some* of the good. Very, very, very little of the not so good. Other folks have longer memories about the bad in your relationship and have little stake in forgiving, repairing and moving past injuries or slights, real or imagined.

Purp – Seriously though, I drove to work yesterday with the full intention of going on the way home. However, when I pulled in to the Kroger parking lot, there were way too many doggone cars in the parking lot. I didn’t want to wear out the last nerve that I had left this morning and since I am on pace to meet my minutes/miles for the week, I do not feel at all bad about not running this morning.
Especially since it would have profited me little to get out and run this morning and head to the vending machine this afternoon because I didn’t have my apple and banana for the day.

SC, you give me the courage to share this of which i am most ashamed. on more than one occasion i have driven into and immediately out of the publix parking lot simply because i couldn’t find a “desirable” space.
