Dating Mr. Serious: Dude, chill
My new guy/beau is a little on the high strung side. I think he likes the fact that I encourage – ok force- him to relax and enjoy the time we spend together.
I have a really silly, playful side at times and I love to laugh and have fun when I’m on a date. During our first few outings, I admit I was ready to deuce him out! He is making an effort to chill out but I get the sense that he has never really let himself unwind and have fun that much before.
It is kind of fun and interesting to watch him explore the simple
things that relaxes him! What do you do to unwind? Have you found that the serious/intense people you date often are the most fun to be around once they kick back?
What is the most relaxing and laid back date you have had?
On a semi-related sidebar: Why does it seem as if some men don’t want to outwardly express happiness or feelings of content. It’s actually difficult to determine when you are happy in our presence sometimes! What gives?

PR – Celisea are you one of those little skinny women that can eat everything and not put on a pound?
I wouldn’t call myself skimpy but I can pretty much eat what I want without a lot of weight gain. Too I like to eat but I usually stop when I’m getting full and in a couple of hours, if I’m wanting something I’ll finish the meal. Too much though and I have to hit the gym or pound the pavement.

Purple – I’m not used to typing it or saying it!
I’m a lot like you – everyone says I look mean when I’m out. But I’m usually on a mission. But when with fam & friends, I enjoy myself. A lot of times, I’m busy cooking, but I like to have everyone sitting around to talk and joke with. Our house is set up for comfort and relaxation as well – a sanctuary from the outside world. You should be able to relax in your own home, and your guests should be able to also.

I was just reading on cnn.com what Hugh Hefner’s ex-fiance’ said about him! Cold, but not surprising. She said they had sex once, he didn’t take his clothes off and lasted about 2 seconds. She said she had never seen him naked. She decided she just was not turned on by him and walked away. Well, what did you expect from an 85 year old????? Proves she was only in it for the money!

I am not impressed with her at all, Kimmie, and the whole thing stinks of a set up. They’ve already aired a “reality” special on Hef’s runaway bride, and there’s talk of giving her her own reality show. I watched about 5 minutes before the nausea overcame me and I had to change the channel. At least 5 times he said, “it’s too late to change your mind now” while showing her the cover that was going to press with her picture on it and the subtitle about her being a princess and Mrs. Hefner.

Honestly ITL, I think he lived that life and lifestyle that that’s all he know. IMO he never learned anything outside of sex and all it’s trappings never coming to the realization that sex is really intended for procreating and won’t be something you can cash in on that far into your yonder years. Not saying you can’t enjoy sex with your spouse beyond procreating years. I think it’s a fleeting thing that’s slipping away and there’s absolutely nothing he can do to stop. He can try and band aid and do a couple of acts but to really really enjoy as intended, he can no longer perform….and he knows this. So now he’s shopping for a bride and holding onto something that’s escaped him due to time and aging. Of course that’s STRICTLY my opinion

Well now, think about it for a minute, kimmie. Suppose you’re at work, and there’s a guy that’s cracking jokes and clowning it up in meetings and all. The meetings take longer. Even the funny jokes get unfunny. You get to where you want to say, ‘Dude, please shut up!’. There’s a time and place. Suppose you’re on the golf course, and that guy still won’t shut up. I think most guys do, on occasion, no one wants to walk around being a buffoon, but as kids and the way men are raised, we are taught to suck it up, don’t be a baby and man up… which continues through adulthood.
Women, how many of you have son’s, I am sure you (hopefully) show him a lot of affection, but think of some of the convo you have with him. Tough love… I love to chill and relax, but if my bills ain’t paid, it’s time to get on the grind!

I’ve caught flack for this sometimes. My take is this, and can be confused for unhappiness when it is really introspection. When a man gets the crap beaten out of him at work, he generally turns it inward. When he gets back to the cave, he is still processing the events of the day and this can be construed sometimes as being upset at the lady, or unhappy with the being with the lady…just by being silent. It is just the man processing…nothing more. Don’t read too much in to this, he will will come around.
