You end one relationship and hopefully take some wisdom into the next one. What can we do avoid the same pitfalls that torpedoed the last relationship?
My friend Ben thinks his last relationship ended mainly because of his hectic new job that involved a lot of traveling. He believes that his new relationship will benefit from the lessons he learned about balancing work and home life.
Do you think you get to correct the wrong moves you made in past
relationships?
How have your dating and relationship experiences contributed to your personal growth?

Purple Rain,
I do know that the NFL lockout is still in effect. My benefits are still on hold.
So, I am ready for this thing to end. I feel that it will be over mid July around the 17th or so.

How are you? I trust that you were well taken care of for Father’s Day. You probably got the biggest brightest ties in Bloomingdales & the big piece of chicken.
BTW, I agree with you on the grilling. If it cooked right, there is no need for any sauce. I have some rubs that I’ve made to put on various pieces of meat depending on the type of cut.

NCAA football is the joint!!! Well, at least it is down here in the south. Minnesota Gophers football isn’t really popping. I will say that Minnesota has a great basketball coach. He is a great guy. Wisconsin football is pretty good, though.

Yeah, it is tough. I needed a break this afternoon. Yesterday we did a practice test of the multiple choice portion of the bar exam. So, after 6 hours of multiple choice (200 questions), I am a little tired mentally today. At least the multiple choice is on the last day of the real exam.

I’m trying to post the story about the funeral, but I think the Russian name can’t get past the filter. I’ve broken it up in various pleaces but can’t. I’m going to leave the name off. Just remember it was a woman.
A Russian woman died from a heart attack brought on by the shock of waking up at her own funeral.
Age 49, she was mistakenly declared deceased by doctors, the Daily Mail reported Friday. But she later woke up – in a coffin surrounded by sobbing relatives. She started screaming after realizing she was about to be buried alive.
She was rushed back to the hospital where she was declared dead — this time for real. Her husband was distraught.
“Her eyes fluttered and we immediately rushed her back to the hospital but she only lived for another 12 minutes,” he said. He told The Sun that he would sue the hospital.
“I am very angry and want answers. She wasn’t dead when they said she was and they could have saved her.” A spokesman at the hospital, also said officials were investigating.

As for the lockout….from the notices that I’ve recieved, there is a basic agreement on the split of the money that is agreed.
The holdup seems to be amongst owners. Owners like Jerry Jones want to make provisions that owners like Paul Brown (owner of the Bengals) actually spend money and not just be cheap to pocket the money that they are all supposed to share.
So, since it seems that there is less fighting between the players and owners, it looks like things are going to work out provided that there are no unforeseen problems. The only other issue that the players worry about is the unchecked power of Roger Goddell. So, that may be the only other holdup between the players and owners, but more issue exists amongs that owners themselves.
However, the NBA lockout seems imminent and I’ve heard from a few friends that we may not have a NBA season at all next year. Owners want a cap, and they want to weaken the NBA union.

Those 200 multiple choice questions can steal the small fragment of your brain left after the analytical reasoning section. Stand up slowly from the test…any rushed movements may leave you faint. Nontheless, you will do well!!!

Willie Dyanmite….
I will get back at it later today. I know the law, it is just about practicing. I know that I missed some in that afternoon just due to mental fatigue. I got the grade analysis and I missed more after 3 pm than I did the rest of the test. The test is more about tricks than law.
The questions remind me of the trick I used to do as a kid:
I would hold out my right hand and say “see this hand”, then I would say “I got another one just like it” as I hit them with the left hand. The questions are similar in that they give a bunch a facts that would apply to one law or issue, but the question actually asks you another question.
BTW, the national average on the midterm was 85. I did 123.

This is the goal. It is a test on minimal proficiency.
I know that you work in a law office. I am sure that you have run into attorney that made you wonder how did they pass that thing. As a paralegal, I ran into plenty of attorneys that made me think that if they passed, I can too.

It is a test on at least 18 different areas of law. The multiple choice test 6 different areas of law. Then we have to know GA’s distinctions. I can honestly say that I will know more law by the end of July than I will probably ever know in my life. Once I get in my area, I will forget about most of the other areas of law.

My current job is guaranteed through contract until July 2015. I’m looking ahead to what my plan would be after that, as I would have to consider that we may not be awarded another contract extension.

SexyC,
As with anyjob, the people can make the job good or not. However, I can honestly say that there were not many boring days as a paralegal. People are funny and they can get into some really peculiar situations. I am not just talking criminal situations, either.
One more thing, if you go the paralegal route, be prepare that everything that goes wrong will be your fault (whether it is or not). I got used to attorneys messing up and I had to fix things. Secretaries got it worse than me. Most attorneys are horrible in dealing with staff. They have to keep their cool around clients, but sometimes blow off steam to secretaries and paralegals. Attorneys wait to the last minute to get things filed because clients don’t want to incur cost until the have to do so.
It has been cool popping in. I think that I am actually going to take a nap.
Here is a quote that has kept me going:
“There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When
you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when
circumstance permit. When you’re committed to something,
you accept no excuses, only results.” – Art Turock

I have a hotel room across the parking lot from the testing site (Georgia International Convention Center on Camp Creek). So I don’t get caught in traffic or car battery dying. I will just leave the hotel and walk around the lot.
The dog will be boarded and the wife will be in NYC visiting her Mother in Harlem.
