Second chance after disappearing act?

I have learned to be fairly resilient when it comes to dating.  After your ego is bruised or your heart is broken, you eventually manage ways to keep it moving.  What happens when those classy individuals who faded into oblivion without explanation return to the scene of the crime?

My friend Justin is going through this now with a young woman he met last spring.  She stopped returning his calls and he was never sure why.  She claims that she was afraid they were getting too close too fast.  Of course, now she is ready.

Why does it seem like the moment we have hit our stride again and moved past the dating misadventure, people who blew their chances come back? That is one of those dating situations that always baffles me.  Why do people do that? What do they expect?

I think people can change their bad dating behavior or habits, but your character is probably going to remain the same. Do you give second chances to people who seem to want one?

f someone from your past asked for a second chance, how would you handle it?

Yeah, but since there’s no body, there’s no way to prove or disprove kidney disease.

Statements are that bin Laden was unarmed. Why couldn’t the crack team of SEALS capture him alive? An old Arab man without a gun is that hard for our guys to subdue? bin Laden would have been a much more valuable prisoner than a corpse — which, of course, can’t be proven either way.

The moon landing isn’t a valid comparison; one can see debris from the lunar landings in telescope and orbiter photographs.

Dan, I figure that nobody in the Administration is that concerned with whether I believe the story or not. They don’t seem to be concerned whether anyone believes it, from what I’ve seen. Given the past 10 years of governmental mendacity, I suppose nobody would expect them to be forthcoming. As far as me fighting, I did my 10 years in the military — I could just barely squeak under the age limit, but I’m not inclined to do it again.

He was just a liar,
kimmie might be right up a SEALS alley. They probably have to deny many of the missions they complete. If they get caught, they probably gotta lie like he!! too in order to not jeopardize future missions. If you think about it, lying is kinda what they’re all about. lol

Well, I’m a chick and had never heard of it, and I guess I should follow such things.

Thought I haven’t bought a bottle of perfume nor stopped a perfume counter in over 10 years. It’s all gifted now.

Dreams – Yeah, like lying about whether or not you’re married, if said “wife” is living with you or not, how many kids you have, retired from the military, but can afford to throw money around like you’re Lebron, you know, stuff like that!

Hey, it’s all good – he’s a part of the past. Don’t care for the military types much anyway. Our last convo, he snapped at me on the phone and started talking crazy! Had to definitely let that go!

@abc

I’m saying, 7 years ago you were branded a heretic and traitor publicly for suggesting the President may have been misleading us into Iraq. Now, every decision by this President is openly questioned and debated like a Monday morning sports radio show.

Forgive me if I sounded trite, but I’m sick of the double standard and hypocrisy in politics right now.

Just keep your ear out for Prince…he gives the city something crazy like 72 hours notice when he comes sometimes. Then sells tickets for like $25. He’s hit a lot of major cities, so I have a feeling he’ll come here.

And of course all the buzz is around Sade as well.

Afternoon All,

Not much on topic so I’ll jump in on the POTUS topic. Good decision not to release the photos. I think the conspiracy theorists will have poke at it released or not. besides this is America, they will eventually leak.
I give Credit to the Bush admin for doing some of the dirty isht they did to help get us to this point. I give Obama credit for having the Ballz (sorry Swiss) to take a chance. If he had failed then they would be roasting him Non-stop. Since he succeeded then of course he gts no credit. cant win for losing.
I have to hand it to him, He had a helluva week. He is slowly eliminating one by one all the a-hole arguements from the nuts and making a point to get re-elected. Plus did you see how he roasted Trump at the WH dinner? that was classic.

abc

The Bush Administration DID mislead us into Iraq! Branded a heretic for so saying, I don’t know about that… I think that was pretty much mainstream American thought by the time the 2008 elections came around. I seem to recall a steady and constant stream of criticism of Bush for everything from the coverup of his (bogus) military record, to his mis-spent youth, to his mis-handling of Katrina, to his ability to say stupid things every single time he was within range of a microphone… the only President to dodge shoes thrown at him, if you recall. That’s about the only thing for which he gets positive credit.

Scrutinizing our government in general and the Presidency in particular is the right thing to do. We elected them, they’re supposed to work in our interest. Remember ‘transparency in government’? That’s another Obama plank that didn’t mean anything, after all. No change. The Obama Administration is at least as secretive as that of Bush. This is another example of it.

Okay… Let’s just pursue this for the sake of argument…

1) Let’s say the US did want to fake bin Laden’s killing…They would have to be absolutely that he was, in fact, dead to begin with. Because we all know that if they pulled a stunt like this while he was still alive, that joker would be popping up on more videos than Paris Hilton’s head on night-vision.

2) Why not take him alive? Because they wanted him dead, not alive. Why spend the millions it would likely cost to detain, prosecute and execute the guy? Not to mention the media circus it would create. You know he would probably have represented himself, if for no other reason to garner a platform to spew a bunch of spiteful BS for all the world to hear at the trial. No reason to put the country, much less the families of 9/11 victims through that.

3) Why the quick burial at sea? At sea, so that there would be no physical burial place for whack-jobs to build a shrine to the f__ker, and quickly so that the US could at least pretend they did it to adhere to Islamic requirements for a speedy burial. Bringing the body back here would completely forgo even the appearance of propriety on that front, so then we would be left of the option of either blatantly denigrating the body or turning it over to someone who actually wanted it, which we certainly didn’t want.

4) If the we were inclined to fake such a thing, why in the world would Obama sign off on it now, rather than waiting for closer to the elections?

5) And if this were staged, why would we have picked a “hideout” guaranteed to further strain already tenuous relations with an Islamic nation with nukes?
