Essence.com featured a list of the most underrated “types” that seem to get overlooked in dating. There was a list for men and women, which seemed to outline the many perfectly dateable individuals that get a bad wrap in dating. From the Mamma’s boy to the corporate/career woman, the underrated types actually read more like …normal people. You know, humans with imperfections?
I can’t honestly say that I haven’t overlooked men who are considered underrated. However, I am not all that convinced they would have been interested or a good match for me anyway. I think some single people are drawn to a certain “popular” type but is that who we should end up dating?
If we are all trying to date “the type”who are supposedly in high demand, who do you think is getting ignored? Would you consider yourself the type that is underrated? If so, does it bother you? What (if anything) would you do differently to stand out?

Ok, this has backfired and I’m good with it. If I look foolish in any of your eyes, there’s nothing I can do about it because I know me.
Leggs Don’t worry. They don’t know I’m blogging from your hotel room. doh! my bad.

No, Leggs. It was not directed at YOU…it was directed at the message in that particular comment (that was not posted by you.) I know you better than that.
But yeah…I do believe that the tone of the postings came across quite a bit different than was intended.

DreamsMat, I am good with going. I just didn’t want to go too far from my baby but SC gave me the idea to go to Lake Lanier which is not too far. I asked him and he is good going there.
If it’s a nice day tomorrow he is just going to sit in his beach lounger and sleep while I read. Or maybe look in on yall.
If the weather turns out not to be to good after we get there then we will try to get a room where he will sleep while I read. Or maybe look in on yall. LOL

@Celisea ~ no, they’re cutting into me too. It’s all good. I think most are missing the boat on what I was “trying” to say. Was nothing about being kicked to the curb, or “why don’t you like me”, or “hmmm, something must be wrong with you if you don’t want me.” Sheesh. Nothing like that at all. But, since that’s the way it has come across, I can still only laugh at it. NEXT…..

Honestly, I didn’t read it that way. You know I would have said so. I thought it was all in fun. Heck I didn’t know. And honestly, I thought folks was just cutting up on Blackfoote mostly. But like I said, from my perspective, no worries
I bet there are stories that could fry the blog

C, i have a 21 and a 19 year old. one thing i have learned (much to my amusement), once they start spending their own cash they become incredibly frugal. congrats on both accounts.

czBrat – LOLOL, it’s started already. On her 2nd paycheck (since we eat out weekends), I said I’m not going anywhere I’m eating at home. She looked at me as if I’d grown two heads and said “oh, I wasn’t planning to spend my money.” Great. I can use that as leverage. You want you spend. If you don’t, I’m surely not buying. She even asked, ummm if I buy my pantyhose for church will you pay men back. Of course I had to be resuscitated from passing out from laughing at that statement.

I’m shocked that Mr. Verbose (Dan) used the word “irregardless” in a sentence.
Actually, I’m not.

You people are funny! I think the most important thing in finding someone to date is honestly, no lying, yes a good looking man is always nice but that isn’t going to make it work on someones looks for a man or a women. Best thing is to find someone who treats you right, most people ignore signs (myself included) that we will fail with the relationship, some stay and then get married cause of time they put into or maybe the girl so hot! i have known several guys to stay with a girl who was the “hot chik” only to have years of hard times ahead but the writing was there , most people do not get better they get worse.
