Most underrated singles: Do you overlook them?

Essence.com featured a list of the most underrated “types” that seem to get overlooked in dating.  There was a list for men and women, which seemed to outline the many perfectly dateable individuals that get a bad wrap in dating.  From the Mamma’s boy to the corporate/career woman, the underrated types actually read more like …normal people. You know, humans with imperfections?

I can’t honestly say that I haven’t overlooked men who are considered underrated. However,  I am not all that convinced they would have been interested or a good match for me anyway.  I think some single people are drawn to a certain “popular” type but is that who we should end up dating?

If we are all trying to date “the type”who are supposedly in high demand, who do you think is getting ignored? Would you consider yourself the type that is underrated?  If so, does it bother you? What (if anything) would you do differently to stand out?

I think the Hawks win, Chicago and the Lakers lose.

Raqi/Purple – I agree with you all. No need in testing temptation.

You know what’s a trip about the whiners on here today? I would bet my last dollar that at one point in their lives they HAD the woman they are now dreaming about. Just a nice, down-2-earth real lady that loved their dirty shorty drawers. They didn’t have to lead with the wallet because they didn’t have one. And she loved yall anyway. But for whatever reason you cast her aside. She wasn’t wild enough or skank enough and you were smelling yourself and thought you could do better.

Think about it.

NBA…now we talkin. Hawks will make it the next round, to play Chicago. But I think the Hawks will get crushed by Chicago.

Miami will make it through too, to meet the Celts ( I love Rondo!!!). I think the Celts will take it all the way.

Sorry ARed I want the Hornets to bet the Lakers. The other West teams I’m not into. I like Dallas but the underdogs are ahead on the West teams.

DreamsMat, Exactly. When you think you above getting got that’s when it gets you. Knowing is the first step to prevention. LOL

I laugh every time the subject comes up and the first thing people say is “we don’t have trust issues in our relationship”. That’s all good, fine and dandy, but what does that have to do with the natural course of things taking place. The thing we have to make sure is to not act on those feelings and knocking them down the second they arise. Men and women are programmed to be attracted to each other. Spending mounds of time, like you said, can lead to that happening.

DJSnip trying to make us think he has never mentally overly admired a woman he is friends with. LOL Like we are going to believe that.

any team that does not close out tonight will lose…period…sick of the first round..and i am sick of folks thinking memphis is doing something..the spurs old and done…they are what the celtics will look like next year…give the young boys credit..they just outplaying em…the hawks will run with chicago..outside of rose who is there…the hawks playing as a team..and crawford is playing out of his contract…

I am more po’d with the NFL and the owners telling the strength coach they can take the day off….i mean its getting petty now…either start the season or call it..period…

and let these dudes whine…maybe helping them stay off the news..meaning going across there chicks mouth…IKE style

Of course I’ve admired women that I’m friends with. I never tried to imply that I haven’t. Still, I respect my wife enough to not let anything go further than that. Also, neither of us actually do spend much time at all with friends of the opposite sex (school and kids take up a lot of our time) but we don’t really have an issue with it.

Lakers are not making it out of the 2nd round if they make out of the first.

WillieD, I just smh at the whining men because not one time do I go in Target, Perimeter Mall, Costco and not see regular average dudes (overweight to slightly overweight, short, balding) with wives/girlfriends and families. LOL

If a man can’t pull a woman it’s surely him and not the women.

1) Money is the best aphrodesiac. There is no such thing as a homely millionaire who is single.

2) Women are basically self-destructive, and prefer the men who are, too. So women are attracted to the risk-taker and non-committed man, and ignore the good and honest guys who dress below their means.

3) Intelligence is not a selection factor in evolution. Women are not attracted to smart men, only to husky ones. Meanwhile, most men are terrified of smart women (especially those smart women with a good sense of humor!).

4) Alpha, Beta and Gamma women go after alpha males. No one goes after the men who are second place (beta) or third place (gamma) in the male heirarchy. Anyone (male or female) who is independent and doesn’t play power games, is of course, suspect.

5) Women claim to want sensitive men, who they dispise. Men claim to want independent women, who they despise.

6) For best results, ignore love or chemistry, and look for someone to have a good marriage contract with. Will they nurture the family? Provide for the family? Be honest and loyal and committed to their family? If so, they area better match than the latest love fling will ever be.

I will admit, Kobe is playing like a old guy, the ankle concerns me but he loves to win so you’ll practically have to saw it off to stop him.

Pau Gasol is the one I could kill right now.

I’d be rooting for Chris Paul if he wasn’t playing my team right about now. But he is so he can kick rocks…and smoke em too.

Good afternoon.

From what I’ve skimmed, Blackfoote’s showing his protector side.

ARed is upping her game and making sure dude is tall and has loot.

PR’s still picking on SimpleM. What I find funny is no one knows what kind of contact the two of them have off the blog.

I overlook men with bad manners, very wrinkled clothes first thing in the morning (kinda sorta), fat men, beer gut and no teef!

Gotta a lot to read.

Raqi – To your 2:24, I totally agree. I see it every day. Short, bald, just excuses.

I always think back to the cousin of an ex of mine. Cuz had a simple job at the post office. Had a nice little house and decent car. He was average looks and build. Women were on him like he was a rock star.

See that’s where people mess up, listening to the internet or these “so called” experts. Can’t anyone doing anything for themselves anymore??? People who even hint at this, get wrote off weather friend or possible date, I loathe people who you have to hold there hand for, pathetic, and this is from a guy who grew up in a foster home, if I can do it so can you!!!
