Dating men and their complex egos

One of our great male readers mentioned the male ego (Thanks For Real!) and it reminded me why I love this blog. Part of my fascination with blogging on Misadventures in Atlanta is learning more about men. I am still on that quest to understand the male psyche, behavioral patterns, and the male ego!

Here’s what I know about male egos: it’s powerful, important to understand for a peaceful relationship, and it’s not solely based in sex. Here’s what I don’t know about male egos: how do I manage (stroke?) it and co-exist with it (happily) – especially with my own, equally complex, female ego. I don’t know if it’s a huge problem for me in dating but in relationships I think it can be.

What do you understand about the male ego? Ladies, what did you learn about them from the men in your lives? Are you ever confused by a man’s ego?

Guys, what is the best advice you can give women to handle your egos? Do you think women try to manipulate or control your egos?

What role does it play in how you value yourself as a man? What is the biggest misconception about male egos?

Ared – Yeah I know right…I can’t look all broke down as I can when I’m out in my neck of the woods in Conyers. But we do have a Club Quick Trip out my way.

Celisea – Well i’m sure you’ve probably seen the beau in there because if I wasn’t crazy, I’d think he had an obsession with going in there.

Real talk, I know a couple of lame brains who don’t even live in the area who shop at that Publix. I guess it’s that serious.

Ared – Yeah it is a stretch, about 40 minutes. But it works out for me because he is closer to my job, so often times I end up just staying at his spot and go to work from there. ;-)

Ared – you are EXACTLY right…I like it out there and everything but it is TOO dayum far. My sis is going to move up here this year, so we’ll get a spot together, closer to the rest of the world.

I just read your comment about the houses being close together in a place you looked. That’s what I love about our future neighborhood the houses are like two house lengths apart.

Most of the older neighborhoods OTP are like that also. These newer houses have the minimum separation space at best.

The other things that newer subdivision have, and that HOA’s seem to promote, is lack of character in the neighborhood. Most everything is quite cookie cutter.

I tell ya’…pros and cons…pros and cons…

I bet. I love the Apron meals. My kid will almost embarrasingly wait for the cook to finish. Some really good menus…

We’ve probably crossed aisles…lol I try but no matter how much I get it seems like there’s always something I forgot or something I want to make that wasn’t included in the grocery run.

I know this is crazy but on the drive to Reynolds Plantation being what 92 miles from my home, it was absolutely beautiful and I would love love love to live in that kind of community. All nice and quaint, old fashion stores (some new ones) clean subways, small publix, cute sandwich shops…ahhhh
