Have you ever been in the heat of the moment and mistakenly said something you wish you could take back? Perhaps you said the wrong name in bed, or blurted out I love you when you weren’t really ready to say it. You have this feeling of dread and you suddenly wish your life was operated by TiVo.
I can tell you that do overs are like Keebler elves, they don’t exist. I believe you can recover and smooth things over, though. Just ignoring it won’t help, it will become like this weird awkward elephant in the room that you can’t really get around. Facing it as soon as possible is going to let you move on quicker and forget about it.
One of my friend sent someone a racy picture and he really regrets it now! I don’t know what he was thinking but I told him to just apologize to her since she was offended. He may have to up his game and show his gentlemanly side even more to recover but I think she may give him a pass if she really likes him.
When have you ever wished for a do over? Is there a situation that you handled really badly and regret how it turned out?

G’morning….
“When have you ever wished for a do over?” when I was younger.
“Is there a situation that you handled really badly and regret how it turned out?” yep.

Good morning.
You may or may not remember my blunder when I called out another man’s name in the heat of the moment. Not once, but twice! Suffice it to say, the evening was ruined. He went home, and I was left with BOB!

No do overs for me. I believe everything happens exactly the way it’s supposed to, my pluck ups notwithstanding.
Diva your friend did what guys do all the time…push the envelope. If you go too far, you can almost always recover, but if you never ask, then you never know.

Okay that right there has never happened to me. I remember though, I was sort of talking to two guys whose names were very similar
It was only off by one letter, I called on dude on the phone by the other dudes name. He was like huh?
I played it off . I don’t remember what I said but it really went over his head
Thank GOD the mess up only occurred thru phone conversations and not thru face to face contact.

I don’t have any regrets for anything I have done.
I chalk it up as learning experiences.
But let’s just say that they are giving out free do-overs, then yes I would be first in line.
The do-over moment that I would humbly ask for would be the time when I was 19 and I dated this guy that was the sweetest and treated me like a queen. I was so immature, I treated him like crap. I was in that I want a ruff-neck stage of my life and he was anything but that. This was the only guy that could actually get away with falling asleep
fake falling asleepon the couch at my parents house so they would let him spend the night. He was a good dude. My parents really liked him. Heck, they knew him since he was 5.Dude is married now with kids. I ask the Lord for forgiveness and thru the experiences I have been thru, I treat people with the kindness and respect they deserve.

@2C ~ yes, I discussed it here when we this topic came up. They really looked a lot alike. I have a small pension for calling people other peoples names in everyday talk. I was in the throes when I called out another dude’s name. He slapped me (lightly, but still a slap) and said “that’s not my name.” I apologized and a few seconds later, I said it again. That time I knew it was the end of the evening. I have never called out another man’s name since then!

Nobody told you to build an entire economy around one man. And how dare that man do what’s best for him. Heck, I guess he didn’t get the memo that he belonged to Cleveland, that whole free slave this was just a farce.

Now that’s how you mess with a man’s self esteem…I’ve done that during convo but not during the grown up.
On topic: There have been some situations where I handled things with tact but later on I wanted to go back and wreck some sh!t up but that would’ve been out of anger and not really help.

I think I’ve been pretty level headed in my years of living and learning. Some blunders and hiccups along the way. Only something where I walked in eyes wide open do I “slightly” regret. Even so, I wouldn’t change a thing. I wouldn’t do it again but I dang so wouldn’t change it.

I’ve been called other men’s names by mistake, never during sex, though. What it represented to me was that the girl was projecting someone from her past upon me. I REALLY didn’t like it, and voiced my displeasure on the spot, the couple of times it happened. Ain’t no do over, and the issue never really goes away entirely, either. As many times as a man can say “I’m not that guy”, a chick will always project like that. Who knows, maybe men are the same way.

My racy text regret…Sending on of my gfs a text meant for TheDude.
See….um, er…what had happened was….Her name was the first name that came up with that letter, his name was the second. So…when I hit the first letter, I didn’t tab down to his name.
Needless to say, I fixed that….ASAP. His name is now the first name that pops up when I hit that letter.
