Wanted by many, taken by none

I can understand how dating multiple people can become a ego boost. You’re in high demand, people are jockeying for your time, it’s all about YOU. It’s all fun and games until somebody wants more.

This is usually when the drama starts. It’s not always easy pursuing these mini “relationships” and then you have to decide how and when to narrow things down to one…or at least TWO.

I have noticed that the younger guys I meet say that they are told to juggle many women but it gets really old, really fast for them. I’ve seen a lot of people who prefer to date one person and see how things turn out.

Do you think single people are still playing the numbers game? Do you prefer to have a starting line up or work with your one star athlete?

What are the pros and cons to juggling multiple dates? What’s the best way to do it without causing unnecessary drama and using deceit?

Both their behinds were lucky I didn’t call Ken Nuggent. :D

@ Delight23 and Blackfoote I am sorry that happened to you. I have been hit 2x as a pedestrian. Luckily they didn’t drive off. My cousin was hit and dragged a couple of blocks as they continued driving until he got loose. It’s sad I don’t know why people don’t take personal accountability and just stop. :(

@ Leggs I’m sorry for your daughter’s loss as well. Her being hesitant about driving is understandable. I hope when she does start driving that she isn’t nervous about it still.

Leggs – I’m so sorry about lil Leggs friend. I can understand her fear, but don’t let her go too long without getting her license or she’ll be afraid forever.

When I got hit by that tractor trailer back in 2005, I did not want to drive again right away but I made myself. So a few days later I went on and accepted the rental car and got back behind the wheel. I’m still a little traumatized even to this day, but I really had to work thru my fear. I did not want to limit myself by not being able to drive and get around. I start my day with a prayer as soon as I get behind the wheel and I am very careful and aware of other drivers.

Thank you guys…it’s really hard on her.

She now understands my grave concern with letting her teenage friends pick her up or bring her home. I will drive and bring her home. Many of the teenagers think cuz they have a license, they now know how to drive. That license only let’s them know how to move a car forward, backward and perhaps park properly….it takes years of experience to know how to DRIVE!

I think it’s time to tell her about my accident and how I amputated a woman’s leg. {{sniff, sniff}} It still haunts me!

speaking of justice, twisted outcomes & the like…anybody see that story about the woman who faced a felony indictment (knocked down to 2 misdemeanor charges)for allegedly attempting to poison her husband (he survived), pled guilty – and, by decision of the responsible (i use the term loosely) school authorities, RETAINS her job as a SECOND-GRADE school teacher because the incident “did not involve moral turpitude” and “she is a very good teacher”?!

it takes years of experience to know how to DRIVE! True words spoken. AND very few drivers KNOW their vehicles.

They purchase cars they can’t handle. I know my little baby intimately. I know how much room I truly have in front, behind and beside me. I can tell if her tires are a little low based on feel of the ride. I can tell if I need to add a boost of engine cleaner. yeah, yeah gas has detergent, but I know my car and what it likes. ;p

I don’t know Leggs. You’ve said that she’s already kinda skittish about driving now(as can be expected) but I think you telling her your story may make her not want to drive at all….or for a very long time. Plus that accident was traumatic enough that it still haunts you so imagine how it might affect her at this time.

Yeah alot of senior citizens are touting the “magic” of Viagra but I’ve also read that the STD/HIV rate among that age group has risen as well as some other things have risen

You have to actually drive in order to learn how to drive. I’ve known adults (in their 30’s/40’s) who are still petrified of driving on the freeway or in busy areas. The longer you wait, the more comfortable you become with that fear.

@ swiss: don’t know that i’d want to take that bet, but i’d definitely watch w/ interest from the sidelines – it does seem to me that the law is frequently harder on men…personally, if i were participating in such a decision, i’d be a little more worried about a female alleged to have done such a thing. criminal and psychological statistics show that while it’s rarer in females, it’s also usually more virulent in the females in whom it does occur…

@evy ~ Yes, it is. She sued me, naturally, was awarded a substantial amount, but nothing can bring back her leg. I felt ashamed for a very long time that nothing happened to me. Only the spine of the book I was reading broke! That’s it! Got home, fixed me a drink and cried amongs the ice cubes. I had to go to work the next day (Sat.). I dusted myself off and went to work). I had no choice, I couldn’t fold into my emotions. I had to keep moving or else I’d probably collapse! I worked for a law firm and they handled everything. I felt guilty cuz my defense was free, didn’t even have to pay for a freaking stamp. For some reason, this stamp think ate at me for a long time!

I have had to close calls with driving

1. Told my cousin I knew how to drive (and didn’t) and she stupidly let me drive her Ford Escort with her and 3 friends and a baby in the car. The power steering was bad and I turned the corner too fast and we ended in somebody’s front yard about 2 inches away from a propane tank! I prayed and cried like a baby that night!!! I gratefully paid my whole Burger King check to her the following week for car repairs and vowed to never lie again that I could “drive” until I could get lessons.

2. 17 and driving to the mall with my sister, blasting the music in my Dodge Shadow and tried to go around a slower car and cut off this lady in a Lincoln. She lost control of her car and went into a ditch but re-gained control and came back up on the road. My heart was beating so fast, I prayed to God that I would always look before changing lanes!!!
