Do you believe in karma?

I took a quick trip to Savannah this weekend and I had a ball. I absolutely love it there and going on Halloween weekend only made it more…interesting. We took one of those ghosts and graveyard tours throughout historical parts of the city. A lot of history there!

As I was putting on a brave front, I was thinking that it was a good thing I didn’t have any bad karma coming my way. That would probably have been a good time to pay for something I had done to somebody else…well, if you believe in that sort of thing.

Do you believe in karma? Do you find comfort knowing that people that have treated you horribly in relationships will one day end up miserable?

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?!

My weekend was great I just came back from the caribbean. :D

Good Morning everybody! How was everyone else’s weekend?

Yes I do feel vindication in knowing that someone who has wronged me has either A. apologized and acknowledged their wrong doing or B. been served a dose of their own medicine or other misfortunate to bring balance back into the world.

I have to admit I was affected by this loser I called myself dating through a friend in 2007/2008. I just quit talking to him and never really took the chance to read him the RIOT act. Well I later found out he was in dire straights right now. He even contacted me presumably to bring more ruckus into my life….I felt bad b/c I DIDN’T feel badly about his misfortune. In fact I was reveling in it.

I think it helps to have these things happen but sometimes you got pick it up moving on and keep strollin like you never even knew them….

Nope. I believe in forgiveness. It’s a much more powerful tool. Give it a shot and see if you care later on about those people from your past the same way.

Stephen, you are completely right. I guess everyone is a lot different. Some people just can’t hold grudges for the life of them. Some people hold on to grudges for dear life. It’s something that certain people have to work on and some people it comes more naturally. Sometimes just when you think you let something go, you get an in your face reminder. It can be hard. But you are still right though.

Good Morning All,

I believe in karma but not in the sense of what we do as bad will come back to get us some later time..I believe that what we put out there..is what comes back. If you throw out bad vibes..then in return that is exactly what you get..bad. If you put out good vibrations–then you get good vibrations. I am just not one to believe that there is some giant scoreboard constantly keeping track of how well we are doing or not doing at this life game.

Off-Topic.. and you knew it was coming..Let me just say here and now I can’t believe we lost to the Aints..so help me I am just stunned and amazed. I am just gonna suck this lost up cause we have to..but if we lose to the Bungals on Monday night….ohhh weeee!. *Now going to find me a bit of Cola courage to get thru this day.*

I agree, Karma can be a B****, especially when it occurs on I75/85 rush hour traffic with just fumes in your tank & a flat tire. However, there’s god Karma too.

bom dia peoples!!! I absolutely believe in Karma. Every action has a reaction. Cause and effect. With our behavior we build, repair and burn bridges or connections.

I think it’s these connections and relationships that “deliver” our Karma.

Good Morning Weekend was great! I hope everyone else enjoyed theirs. Yes, I believe in karma so that is why I believe in treating others the way I would like to be treated. As for finding comfort in knowing someone who treated me bad who will end up miserable….vengeance is not mine! Just say you keep it moving and whatever will be will be…It took a minute for me to feel this way, however now I try not to dwell on the negative!

No I wouldn’t find comfort perse but I do believe in Karma and that what goes around comes around…and back on around again. Does that mean that I’ll wait and skulk around to see it come around?….why waste my time. The best revenge is to live well and prosper.

Do you believe in karma?

No…on karma…on reaping what you sow…on getting what you put out…on the secret. I think life is life. People experience it differently…hell if I know the reason.

Do you find comfort knowing that people that have treated you horribly in relationships will one day end up miserable?

No, but I do find discomfort in knowing that some good spirited people can (and do) experience misery.

All in all, I think inner peace is worth fighting for…be good whether it counts or not…love and all that good stuff…just because.

2Can, I can give a million examples where a person has jacked folks around and walked away free and clear…Now maybe they have contracted some terrible maledy like IBS or 5mm gallstones with a thousand sharp edges but but to me I see no retribution. Again this does not mean that won’t treat people in the best way I can, In fact I a;wasy will, but It won’t be because I am afraid of some random ass backdoor payback….

karma: gf of mine talks us into moving to GA, its great here, schools are great, and besides she has no real friends, lonely as all he!! misses us since we’ve been friends 15+ years. we move here, got no friends but her. 6 months later she moves back home cause shes tired of the south. WTH! she buys a house, car, starts talking about how much better the north is than the south. 6 months after she buys her house, her job transfers her back to Augusta. Transfer or lose your job….told her straight up: karma

I don’t believe Karma is about tit for tat but overall positive and negative experiences based on human behavior.

So yes treating people like crap and getting no sympathy as you suffer through the passing of “5mm gallstones” is definately a Karmic experience, because here you have something sh y tty happening to an overall sh y tty person.

@ Sassy Me you are so right! That is definitely the best revenge. Said person may go on with their life not even thinking about the negative impact on you but when they are confronted with the fact that you are doing even better since you’ve parted ways or even BETTER than they are…I’m sure that’s gotta sting.

Thing is that same karma that you are enjoying happening to people that have wronged you will come right back on you and your happiness in their ill will. Also, once “karma” has played it’s card you are not the judge of if it was enough “karma” going their way. And..you may only observe the karma that you witnessed in someones life…you have no idea what karma they are keeping hidden. Some people keep their struggles private and when it’s over come out to the public better than ever. Stop waiting on people to get their “due” they may have already and you not know it…they may have already grown from it and living a better life. Life your life and let them live theirs, if you are caught up on them getting karma back on them for how bad they did you, well you thats a sure sign that you still have some sort of feelings for that person. If you were over them you would not care about their Karma..thats a weakness on your part.

Good Monday Morning All,

Feeling a bit sore from hiking up Stone Mountain yesterday but it’s a good sore.

I do believe in karma…i’m just waiting for my refund check to come in from all the bs I’ve dealt with over the years. Is that wrong? lol
As far as wishing others some bad juju, I’m sure during the midst of the situation i probably wish harm to them in some form or fashion…but once my anger leaves, I tend to let the karma train handle it as it sees fit. I couldn’t function ‘normally’ if I held onto every wrong someone did to me. However, as someone previously stated, it does appear that the arseholes of the world get the biggest breaks. Make me wonder if there is truth to “NICE GUYS/GALS FINISH LAST” hmmmm???

Kym – even though Im not a Steelers fan I was pissed that ya’ll lost to the Aints!

Karma – yep I believe in it. Moreso like Kym said, that what you put out there is what you get back. You wrong me and you will be wronged, I may not witness it or anything but again its what you put out there.

Do you find comfort knowing that people that have treated you horribly in relationships will one day end up miserable? i dont know if comfort is the right word, but maybe some relief in the hope that they’ll get what they deserve. not sitting outside waiting to see them fall down the stairs, but its easier for me to let go and live my life with the idea that the universe will deal them the cards they have earned…

The truth of the matter is while Karma may very well exist not everyone will experience it. Or rather not to the extent that some of us may wish it to be experienced by someone else.

Everyone wants to think and believe the one person that mucked them up the worse will be tortured with a life of hell and brimstone here on earth, but that just is not the case. Heck some people are more miserable wanting and waiting for the hammer to come down on an offender than the offender will ever be for what they did to that person.

What goes around may come around in a sense but it will not always be in the exact form or sometimes not even a recognizable form to many.

Just because someone broke my heart doesn’t necessary mean their heart will be broken. And even if it does they may have the strength to bounce back much easier than I did making not that drastic revenge I may have hoped for them.

So stop waiting for the wrath of God to fall on your exes for your revenge. It doesn’t work like that.

We all must face our consequences but truly it will only be for the wrong doing and not as an act of revenge on your part by a higher power.

Karma is deep and can be somewhat considered metaphysical … but you can also look at it in a simpler term. Bad karma can ties into bad deeds which is more often afilliated with a bad group/influences (vice versa for good).

When something unfortunate happens to someone, we can always tie it back to either their overall character, who they hang out with, or what kind of mess they’re always into … I guess we considered it deserving or expected. We often consider the same thing for the people struck with good fortune.

So whether you believe or don’t believe, we’re all thinking along the same line …

well said. we dont decide what comes their way, or if its what they deserve, or even all of what they deserve. we have our opinions, but karma, universe, God, coincidence, whatever you consider the governing factor, does not run our schedule. for those who have accepted that, imo, things flow easier. you just trust that it will even out and move on your way…

There is no such thing as karma. All you get in life is the consequences of YOUR decisions and your faith. Speaking of faith, how you believe in a God and believe in karma at the sametime?
