What’s the worst that can happen?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to throw caution to the wind and just do whatever you wanted to do? No risk/benefit analysis, just following an impulse and do what feels good. Maybe it could lead to a new experience or a new romance!

I’m cautious with most things and I certainly have not been accused of being impulsive about dating. Maybe it’s time to switch things up, though. What’s the worst that can happen if you let your impulses dictate what you do? Would that be a brilliant idea or a slightly insane thing to try?

Sigman Freud theorized that the human personality is driven by the Id, ego, and the superego. The Id is the “irrational” part of our personality. If this is true, then my Id is all dormant! Rarely do I get irrational about dating, but maybe it’s time I did.

What’s the most impulsive thing you have ever done? How did it turn out?

Do you think our overly cautiousness sometimes cuts us off from experiencing something (or someone) important that we should really experience?

They’ve blocked Yahoo and Gmail. Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn is next.

Wow I thought I was the only one….so far they’ve blocked Yahoo,Hotmail and all streaming of any type(no more Pandora or Playlist at work). I don’t tweet but I’m sure that’s blocked too, along with alot of other things.

But the biggest risks were back in the “get money days.” I remember my license had gotten suspended, and it would be time to re-up…..being in a small town, ain’t hard for folks to get to know your vehicles…..so I had a spare key to my mom’s car….I’d go to her job, switch cars, then go get my stuff….come back, get back in my car, and go home, and go straight to the “lab.” The scariest time was when I went to Texas (weed was going for 250 a pound in TX back then) and got stopped…I almost doo-doo’ed on myself….but he just gave me a warning; had he did a search, I’dda been through!

kimmie Yeah, I’m surprised that I’m still living sometimes. There’s stuff I can’t even tell my mama cause she’d put them thangs on me RIGHT NOW for being so doggone crazy. I never feel fear until afterwards, when I think of all the things that could have gone wrong. Then I go into shock and shake all over and promise myself that I won’t do anything like that again for a few years. LOL

So then two years later, my fool behind went to the Bahamas by myself….and three years after that, I did a cabin in the woods alone….

Leggs Girl, that was scary!! I’m glad you all made it out too. I can relate, I have been in a few situations where God must have been smiling on me.

SCool – Never colored my own hair but there was the time my hair turned GREEN on the ends after one hair coloring. then there was the time I decided to try coloring and relaxing my hair at the same time (made it out with all my hair thank goodness).

And like Sexy, most of the things I did were for being young/immature/hardheaded. Sneaking in the guys dorm after visitation, sneaking out during a dorm search, hanging with crazy military dudes (who turned into stalkers), etc

C’mon now, Brat… You know all of those skrippers would go there for the right price. Now, some may have a price that’s more than I’m willing to pay, but they’ve all got a price. I mean, if $10 will get you buck-nekkid, bent over, cheeks spread wide open right in my face, then it’s not that much of a stretch to super-size to a BJ or more…

The time to really experience new & great things is ideally when you are young and unincumbered. No kid or family obligations. I try to tell my nieces and nephews and SO’s kids that. It’s wonderful to be able to travel at the drop of a hat or just be able to do things without having to map out a 10 page plan. Life is to be enjoyed and it’s a big world out there.

Yes, there is still life after babies and spouses and work and financial obligations – it’s just not as easy. And that’s the reality. I know a young lady that’s not even 21 with 3 kids already, single and struggling. No college so her opportunities are limited. But you couldn’t tell her anything when se was running around with a thug. All is not lost for her, but her journey is just going to be harder.

I remember when Buckhead was the cruising spot when the clubs were all still around. We had some friends from PC come up to visit…we were getting our “hay in the middle of the barn” on as we cruised but then got pulled over for trying to bypass a blocked off road. He made us all get out the car and one of us kicked the goods under the seat…not to mention ole girl was underage and shouldn’t have been out anyway. We got off with a warning to not be seen back down there again. WHEW! Close call…
