Learn your lesson, then run away

Kanye West has a pretty interesting music video for his song Runaway. If you haven’t seen it yet, you may want to listen to the song first and then watch it. I believe there is a lot of symbolism in it but the song relates to a lot of what single people go through in dating.

One part of the song: “I always find something wrong” kind of hits home because this is classic commitment phobic thinking. You know how things can go really great and you get spooked by it and start to search for random things to justify you running away? That won’t stop happening until you catch yourself doing it. Hindsight is 20/20 but if you can find out that you are ruining a potentially great romance, you probably won’t regret taking a chance.

Of course, the song also refers to those jerks and scumbags that we should run away from (or stop acting like!) and this made me think about all my exes. Some of my worst relationships taught me the most. That’s kind of invaluable when you think about it!

What did you learn from your worst dating experience?

Do you have a problem of “always finding something wrong” in the people that you date? Do you recognize it before or after?

“if you leave a company….how would they know whether or not you’re working for the competitor?”

If your new company checks references, they could find out pretty easily…

2 Can…word gets around fast. You would be amazed at how they can find out if you work for a competitor. Plus, if you are in a top position and lure your customers over with you, they are sure to find out they lost their customers to you. Usually, they have non-competes with a time limit-6 mths to 2 yrs.

If you leave a company and stay in the same line of work, then any company you go to can be considered a company. So, does this mean that you can never leave a company, or that you have to completely change the line of work you’re in in order to leave? It seems as though this would be giving companies the power to decide your future. Sharecropping!

makes sense, Legal…..however, I know in I.T. I’ve refuse to sign non-competes, cause for one, I’d be relegated to staying put, but for the most part, it’s hard to tell a computer guy not to go work on someone else’s system…..cause when you get down to the nitty gritty of computing, it’s all pretty much the same….’cept for proprietary software, of course…

Those sdratsab don’t want the competion or your personally to benefit off the knowledge and expertise you picked up from the exiting corporation. How you gone tell somebody what they can do with the knowledge and experience they obtained?

Depending on the type of company you work for, you have to sign non-comp waivers preventing you from working in that particular field until a certain amount of time has elapsed.

I’m going where I wanna. Call me simple but if something opens up for me at a competitor’s company and it fell in my lap…I’m considering it a blessing and jumping at it. Once I’m gone, I owe nobody an explanation for the next move.

Heck, once a year here I have to complete stuff about with whom I’m investing yada yada yada, if I want a 2nd gig, gotta report it.

I’m calling BS.

They getting crazy on what they’re requiring for kids now. My niece scored pretty high as well on the SAT but Ga State wouldn’t accept her and she actually received a monetary award at school earlier this year during their honors program having the highest math grade/average…something like that. Oglethorpe accepted her and was cool with her grades but wanted to know if retaking the SAT was possible.

Okay, here’s the breakdown = the highest on each section you can make is 800 x 3 = 2400. The average is 500 per section.

In 2009, the average SAT score was 1263 for the reading and math plus a 572 on the writing section = 1835

This info was sent to me by a fellow blogger.

She wants to go to Florida State for some reason. They require a 1500. I just told her that she would be fine. To not panic and that if she needed me to help her study, to just let me know. (Don’t know how much help I would really be at this point…but hey….I’m game to help as much as I can.)
