Learn your lesson, then run away
Kanye West has a pretty interesting music video for his song Runaway. If you haven’t seen it yet, you may want to listen to the song first and then watch it. I believe there is a lot of symbolism in it but the song relates to a lot of what single people go through in dating.
One part of the song: “I always find something wrong” kind of hits home because this is classic commitment phobic thinking. You know how things can go really great and you get spooked by it and start to search for random things to justify you running away? That won’t stop happening until you catch yourself doing it. Hindsight is 20/20 but if you can find out that you are ruining a potentially great romance, you probably won’t regret taking a chance.
Of course, the song also refers to those jerks and scumbags that we should run away from (or stop acting like!) and this made me think about all my exes. Some of my worst relationships taught me the most. That’s kind of invaluable when you think about it!

@ PR I know someone who does it all the time and it bugs the HECK out of me…I don’t know how to tell them to quit doing that should I just ask them nonchalant? I have a feeling they will rationalize they aren’t really picking their nose.

I get him home to find a menu on the fax and beside each item the family that has agreed to bring that dish, with exception of a few things. Turkey, no volunteers. Greens (2 types), no volunteers for the turnips. At the bottom is a note asking would I mind catching those items since no one has volunteered.
First of all, should not the hosting house be omitted from the food preparations list? And if not why do I get two of the most difficult items? Looking at the list and whose name is by what I already know who is going to actually cook and who will be stopping by Honeybake, Publix and wherever else to get what they are bringing.
While I putting stuff away that I got at the grocers the s-i-l calls but I don’t answer. A couple of minutes go buy an unfamiliar numbers call so I answer. It’s the sister of the s-i-l. She wants to talk about it now. I first asked her why are they even bothering with this right now. It’s October. I have only met this woman a few times but from the 3 minute conversation that she forced on me she is very much like her sister. She stated that they just wanted to make sure everything gets planned and everyone has enough time to do what they need to do. Oh and they will be gift exchanging by way of name drawing.
I end up telling her I don’t have time for this right now.
My anniversary is tomorrow. I am going to deal with that first. And Thanksgiving is next month. I have to deal with that. Then if I decide I want to deal with a slue of people in our house on Christmas Eve I will deal with that in December.
All this to say my sister-in-law has really started to work my nerves. LOL This has not been a good year for she and I.

LOL…how about when I was out of town last week with my manager, heading up to have lunch (just the 2 of us and his assistant) with our Market Exec, we detour to the ladies’ room and we both use the toilet (yeah getting explicit here). I step to the faucet..soap-lather-scrub-rinse. She comes out, one hand on blackberry scrolling emails she uses the other hand to turn on the faucet (cold water at that…you need at least warm), places the free hand under water…NO SOAP…continue reading emails…turn water off…done. WT? Some folks just nasty. Ya’ll should have seen me watching her the entire time cause ya’ll know we ate ALL dang day.

I tried to sway the “boogers” comment…I get nauseated talking about that kind of stuff. The little kid, say 2 years old that sits next to me is always digging or scratching something or spitting on herself. I’ve yanked her a couple of times. Her mom sits on the pew ahead of me. I’ll tap her shoulder every now and again and say hey what’s up with her digging/scratching/spitting?! C’mon, that ain’t cool. Imma bring a switch for the lil brat. Think somebody will call the folks on me?

YSIC – I would say something…because really, it might be one of those things that he really doesn’t see how other people react to it.
I’ve had somebody point out things to me before that I didn’t even realize I was doing (not nose diving)…and it made me more aware going forward.
