Dating money chasers
A lot of single people believe that they have to accomplish a few things before they settle down and commit to one person. It seems that career aspirations, acquiring wealth and material possessions become priorities. Finding a mate and building together seems to become optional.
I think that ambitious and driven people are really sexy. I just wonder when it becomes too much? What happens when you realize that you are dating the money chasers. These are people who are totally focused on getting money, power, and status. Is that a turn off?
We all have different ideas about success. Finding someone who has a similar outlook as you can be a little challenging. When someone defines money as their only motivator, do you think you would have a problem with it?

tell ya what, if you date me, that’s what you’re gonna get, a motivated, ambitious, money chaser…point blank! I doubt any female would say that’s a turn-off; Now being able to prioritze your ambitions is the tricky part – spending quality time with her, and chasing your dreams. And if you find a mate who’s down for the ride, it makes it all mo’ betta! But nine times outta ten, lotta females ain’t trying to “wait” while dude aspires; Folks want heaven, but nobody wants death!

Ambition is sexy but it’s a turn off when someone says they have to accomplish x, y, a z first before anything happens.

People like the benefits (trips, experiences, possessions, etc.) that come from dating an ambitious person, but they don’t like being second to the ambitions. It’s just a choice you have to make.

I think with anything, when something is the bane of your existence that can be harmful to all manners of relationships.
Having ambition, drive and passion is good and admirable. However, when that drive drives everyone out of your life then it’s bad.

Hmmmm yes if that is their only motivator. IMO one should have a few other things to add besides making money, and coming from me that is deep because I believe in the power of the dollar.

Good Morning All,
About 4 years ago I took this kind of self-analysis of what motivates you in the workplace. Service to others I scored how and money driven..dead last. Chasing the paper just doesn’t move me. While I know that is a motivator for others, I don’t know how long I would last with someone who is always driven by the high of getting a fat bonus. I mean money is great..lack of it can be dire and lead to depression, but the constant drive to get it, keep it, can also lead to depression. I mean if all he can see is dollar signs, will he ever be able to appreciate family gatherings? Naww not my kind of guy.

Money chasers are cool it shows ambition to me, BUT NEVER EVER, NEVER EVER do I subscribe to folks putting money over people and losing out on those value added relationships.

I was talking with this guy I met last week and he asked this question: “Would I prefer to meet someone already established financially or would I date someone building their financial portfolio. First, I said since you used the word “prefer” I must admit I would prefer to date one who’s established, but I see nothing wrong with dating someone working on their finances. We are are doing that one way or another. However, I wouldn’t want to date someone with a credit score of 300. He laughed. I didn’t.

I am initially attracted to men who are hard working and have a passion for what they do. The bad part is the same thing that attracts me ends up pushing me away. I’ve ended up the last thing on the “to do” list and the relationship eventually fails. They are great guys, but until they are ready to make their personal relatiionships just as important all their relationships tend to fail. I think that goes for a lot of men. I think that maybe just how they are different from women.
