Why aren’t more women approaching men?
I hope your weekend was wonderful and fun! I was in the Big Easy hanging out and mingling with cool people. I saw a lot of interesting things this weekend while hanging out in New Orleans. I love the energy of the city and the people are so much fun.
I noticed that women seem to approach men a lot more than in Atlanta! I have to say there were a couple of guys that caught my eye and approaching them didn’t seem like a bad idea. What is it about going to a different city and meeting people that seems easier than at home?
When men get approached by women, it seems to be a huge ego boost and I believe it is rare when a guy flat out turns her down. I am sure it happens but once a lady gives an inkling that she is interested, she opens the door for the man to reciprocate interest.
What is the best way to approach a guy, though? I have seen some women come on way too strong and when they sense the guy is turned off, they keep pursuing. Are women slow to notice that a man isn’t really feeling her?
Guys when you are approached by a woman, do you know right away? What happens when you decide that she isn’t your type? How do you let her down?
I think women are always encouraged to ask guys out or at least approach men more, but it seems that many of us prefer to let the men make the first move. Do you think this will ever change? If we are modern women who abandon a lot of the traditional courting, should we get used to approaching men?

@Chevygal ~ I met a guy this past weekend who looked like Idris Elba’s twin, just a tad bit lighter. We talked for a little while but when I asked if he’s married, he said yes, but he’s free to go and do as he please. Well, so I am so I pleased my away from his fine arse!

@Cool Shadow – There may be occasions when a man may intrigue you, so why don’t you initiate contact?
I don’t see anything wrong with making your interest known but I was really speaking more so to a woman confident to do direct approach as often as she sees a man of interest. IMO, sometimes a man could very well be interested and sometimes not but will take an opportunistic approach. IMO, a woman always making the first move raises her chances of getting rotten dudes and really it’s just nice to have a man approach. If an opportunity is there, I see nothing wrong with stepping it up. Maybe in line at the store or getting lunch or on the elevator or something of that nature. To just walk up to somebody though because he’s cute or sexy, probably not happening. That’s due to my rearrage. Oh and if I did approach and got shot down yeah that would be it for me. No way would I go back for more. That’s a glutton for punishment IMO.

@I am – naw, most toilets are built for normal sized people..not giants!! lol…but i do like the bar stools when we go out…and the big round table at Borders…Vortex on Peachtree has some tall chairs…i can swing my feet
, just got to make sure not to lose a shoe once the tequila starts flowing….

I once dated a real real short dude (I’m 5′9) but he carried the confidence of a giant! I loved how he approached me, struck up good conversation and from there we dated. Bonus: he was a biker dude that had a gsxr . Damn I miss that dude!

White Man/PR, honestly, he was a pretty decent dude. I couldn’t get past the height thing. Of course I was 27 and he was 10 years older and trying to get serious real quick…LOL He wasn’t a mama’s boy but he would go through hell and high water for her which was impressive but again, the height thing. Too, he was moving into the “set in his ways” stage and would get grouchy with me when I would do what he wanted so I didn’t want hassle with that either. Probably if he was younger and a bit more open-minded it might would have worked. It took him a long time to let go.
