Wow, I didn’t think of it as disappearing. During my dating for the heck of it phase, I didn’t return phone calls or answer emails. I wasn’t interested in more than that 1st date. I guess that made me the ghost, but I don’t feel the need to revisit it or apologize. Nothing was invested, imo, in just one date.

Simple Man – I really could use another cup of coffee. Heavy cream – light sugar. Thank you – you’re a life saver this morning.

Morning all -

My college sweetheart pulled a disappearing act on me. We had broken up, but he pulled the “let’s be friends” card and I feel for it. He never called me again. And I acted a plum fool. I learned a very valuable lesson and adapted the “cold turkey” method soon after.

I try to not straight up go ghost. I will make my feelings known about whatever the problem is before I totally bounce out.

Even still, I do want to know what I do wrong in relationships. I know many women don’t take criticism well, but one can never get better if we don’t hear it. All guys tell me is the “it’s not you, it’s me” nonsense. Cowards.

The disappearing act to me is always frowned upon because we always here how everyone is Grown, Mature, No Time for Drama, Living My Life like is golden or insert whatever cliche you want here.

This is the real deal. There are alot of immature people on the dating scene. You would think logically that all of these people with their titles, degrees, posssessions and stature would be mature enough to call someone up and let them know its not working rather than disappearing.

What are we afraid of? The potential backlash or backhand (lol that was a joke, maybe depending on who youre dealing with), it coming back on us, or just not being upfont?

All in all, I just think some people arent really mature enough to even handle the mate they think they want and deserve. People need to act their age.

blue – I like your style, girl! You sound a lot like me, the “new” me that was really the “first” me until I started listening to other folks. I was a take-no-prisoners, don’t take no mess sister. Things were working fairly well for me. Then folks started telling me I needed to lighten up and compromise more and give guys a fighting chance. I started doing that and basically became a doormat! Then I wised up, took out the trash, and went back to my old ways. I am happy now. The rest is history!LOL!!

Slim – One thing I have always refused to do is listen to any criticism from a dude, especially one that was dumping me. Because what he sees as a minus would be a plus to someone else. I allowed my first serious bf to criticise me and it really wrecked my spirit for awhile. He told me I was going to turn a lot of men off and no man was going to want me. Until that lightbulb went off in my head and I realized he was putting me down to build himself up and there was nothing wrong with me, he & I just didn’t work together! Now if I have a real problem that requires some intervention, then be a friend to me and speak up. Otherwise, take your criticism somewhere else and find a woman that better suits you.

Morning All,

I have never pulled the disappearing act in a true relationship nor have I had it done to me. BUT, During my dating years I’ve had a few get ghost on me. I have definitely gotten ghost numerous times as well. If you or i stuck around and made it to the relationship stage then i of course felt obliged to at least discuss why it’s not working. When in the dating game a few dates, calls, etc doesnt warrant any closure.
Heyal i’ll be honest up until I was ready to quit running them streets I didnt give it a passing thought. To me that was life and how the game went. From the jump I mostly knew ima hit this a few times then I’m through with it. No need to discuss that, what am i gonna say ‘it was alright, even swap aint no swindle.

Wow, I’ve been in training and away for a couple of days and come back to new bloggers….great!

On topic…..While I would like to know what the problem is, if it’s not worth the trouble, I’ll live. I can’t say haven’t done the ghost thing per se, I just don’t answer calls if there’s no further interest outside of initial interaction.. I did have the Cobb County Cop that kept asking for my number and when I finally gave AND EXPLAINED not looking for a relationship he sent a text the VERY NEXT DAY saying hello my queen, in that case he NEEDED the talk. I asked him to not call me anymore. That was creepy. In the past I would delete numbers but once I accidentally answered an acquiantance’s call…didn’t recognize the number…that I didn’t want to talk to so since then I the numbers and the entire name so when it appears I can hit IGNORE.

Whats really funny about phones is I was in the sprint store 3 weeks ago and if someones phone breaks, they are in the Sprint Store the same day. Women have phones glued to their hands, ears, etc. They arent going a whole day or even a week without a phone. So she knows that you are calling. She didnt want to call you.

So if you call and she does not answer, just delete the number. Actually I prefer to not even call women. If she is interestd she will call you!

I’ve done the ghost thing to people and had it done to me once with a good female friend. She went ghost because I had been the scape goat for so long while she cheated on her fiance. So he said the one condition to getting married would be to dump me as a friend. We were close for years, same born day, been thru the good and bad; then one day phone calls and emails just stopped. Found out years later on the reason why, hubby felt like I was the bad apple friend. I was hurt for a minute, then I just let it go.

I’ve been ghost on guys because there was just nothing more to be said or done. When I’m done, I’m pretty clear on being done. Was it the right approach who knows…when there is nothing left to say, why make up issh?

Leggs yes it was. Have you meet the chick that finally hitting the other side of her 30’s and the only thing she wants is marriage. Well she wanted it more than air I think. She found a young buck to put on lock but still wanted her single life. So everything she was doing in the dark and getting called on she would blame me. I found out on vacation in Mexico when I ran into her older sister.

Ok I lied its been done to me again with two guys in the last few months…meet them in the club the two times I’ve been this year. Seemed like cool dudes, hit up IHOP/Waffle House afterwards, exchanged hugs and numbers…one or two chats later..GHOST…They were either both married or moved on since I wasn’t giving up the goods without “dating”.

Aaaannnddd in other news….

I support the Florida father who boarded the school bus to defend his daughter. Maybe he was just a *bit* extreme in his actions. But the passion he displayed in wanting to protect his disable child from being taunted and bullied was touching.

Could he have handled it differently? Sure. But….I bet no one on that bus messes with his daughter anymore.

One of my friends on FB, last night, asked has anyone had a lie told about them and later on, it was proven not to be true. She said what about innocent until proven guilty? I didn’t respond. This morning, see forward me an email from EL FB page and a comment from his page that follows her line of thinking. I still haven’t responded, because I am prejudice about the situation. Innocent until proven guilty is the court system, not public opinions. She’s one of my best friends from way back and we are suppose to be ” double dating” soon but I don’t think she needs to know how I really feel about EL.

Regarding the topic of today, I have been in some 2 hours this is not going to work break-ups. 2 weeks later you get another call,,,,Why, why, why can we try again…. In my younger days if the puddy was good I would come back and hit again one last time.

I have never had a woman go ghost on me…. Lucky me… I have been dumped before in a LTR and I knew the writing on the wall she just beat me to it…

EL needs to quit playing and state his case to the media and the public. This is a lawsuit so public opinion is going to be critical in deciding how much these young men get from EL..

There was a fight/commotion also at NB yesterday afternoon/evening after somebody tried to press a case if sexual harassment and they had an argument with another staffer.

The popo were called but no charges were filed.

Seems even the females may be caught up in this.

He had to fvcck some of them.

Cause like my friend said last night if she found pics like this on her son’s phone he wouldn’t have to explain anything to the church..he would have to explain to “Sweetness” (9MM) and “Sweetness” well she is not so understanding.

Mo, this is the first time that I have given a gay dude any respect, because in my research of the Bishop, he has done tons of good for a lot of people. If he did what he did, that’s wrong but you can’t deny the work he has done for God’s Kingdom and the people he has helped. It is more funny to me than anything. If i went to his church maybe I would see things differently, but his good out weighs the bad IMO. Diana, on some days it is. But I just considered the kissing and touch foreplay but once you start touching shafts and beavers you are all in. I don’t my placing my face in the “chin rest” before other activities I just never thought of it as foreplay. LOL

@Leggs …You are correct…Simple…. I know of a church in Carrollton where the leader was affiliate with Creflo Dollar…. The pastor and the deacon team was phlucking half the church women. Orgies, drugs the whole nine.plus keeping the loot…. Creflo found out tried to kick the pastor out, but dude was like I aint going no where…. Creflo sent the poo-poo in to close the church down…
