When dates disappear
I have this theory that explains why many of us either experience “the disappearing act” or are the ones pulling that trick. There is something that is best left unsaid or unrevealed. The disappearance is a gift from the dating gods that we should be thankful for.
A lot of times you have dodged a bullet or avoided some catastrophe. Is it classy to just “get ghost” on people? Absolutely not. It is, however, necessary and sometimes unavoidable. A lot of people (ok, mostly women) say they want closure. I think they say this until they get the so called closure.
Take it from me, ladies. You do not want closure. Ignorance is bliss.
When dates disappear on you, how do you handle it?
Have you ever “faded out” of someone’s life and never told them why you checked out?
Here is your chance to get it out if you feel like confessing your romantic crime of disappearing or fading out.
I’ll go first. Dear Xavier: I am sorry I never called you back. After our first date, you creeped me out talking about your earlobe fetish. I am sure you were a very nice guy. I hope you find the love and the earlobes you deserve. I feel better already!
Now see? I couldn’t say to his face that he was giving me the creepies. In this situation, I think a disappearing act was the unclassy, cowardly way out, but at least his feelings were spared, right?

Dreams – I suppose so, but that isn’t always the case…
Speaking on the whole thing about E.L addressing the allegations on Sunday, I’m sure it won’t be much different than when he was going through that deal with showing the tax info, church books etc back when that senator was getting on all the mega churches. I can understand his die hard followerers to be upset at the allegations…however, as a human being I would just fall silent until this thing passed. Outside of his ‘job’ or proclaimed calling, he is still a man. Sometime we tend to put folks on a pedastal based on their celebrity/job/money. I pray for the boys, that this is all just some ploy for monetary gain because I’d never wish coerced sexual acts on anyone…however, the damage will still be there for E.L even if it goes unfounded because that question will be in folks minds. I wonder how many parents that currently have their kid being ‘mentored’ by him, have chosen to remove their kid from the situation until it blows over….as a parent, I would never want to gamble with that. One of my friends on FB, last night, asked has anyone had a lie told about them and later on, it was proven not to be true. She said what about innocent until proven guilty? I didn’t respond. This morning, see forward me an email from EL FB page and a comment from his page that follows her line of thinking. I still haven’t responded, because I am prejudice about the situation. Innocent until proven guilty is the court system, not public opinions. She’s one of my best friends from way back and we are suppose to be ” double dating” soon but I don’t think she needs to know how I really feel about EL.

I have done the disappearing act..and also been on the recieving end of a disappearance. It is not a good feeling but I guess you really have to charge it to the dating game.

2Can….you are funny….I have my opinion of the whole thing and truly I’m of the belief that you can only go so long doing/being scandalous before the truth surfaces but I’m just saying it’s dang amazing how folks loooove to crucify ANYBODY of or CLAIMS (read in between the lines now) they are a servant of God. Regarding the topic of today, I have been in some 2 hours this is not going to work break-ups. 2 weeks later you get another call,,,,Why, why, why can we try again…. In my younger days if the puddy was good I would come back and hit again one last time.
I have never had a woman go ghost on me…. Lucky me… I have been dumped before in a LTR and I knew the writing on the wall she just beat me to it…
EL needs to quit playing and state his case to the media and the public. This is a lawsuit so public opinion is going to be critical in deciding how much these young men get from EL..
