When dates disappear
I have this theory that explains why many of us either experience “the disappearing act” or are the ones pulling that trick. There is something that is best left unsaid or unrevealed. The disappearance is a gift from the dating gods that we should be thankful for.
A lot of times you have dodged a bullet or avoided some catastrophe. Is it classy to just “get ghost” on people? Absolutely not. It is, however, necessary and sometimes unavoidable. A lot of people (ok, mostly women) say they want closure. I think they say this until they get the so called closure.
Take it from me, ladies. You do not want closure. Ignorance is bliss.
When dates disappear on you, how do you handle it?
Have you ever “faded out” of someone’s life and never told them why you checked out?
Here is your chance to get it out if you feel like confessing your romantic crime of disappearing or fading out.
I’ll go first. Dear Xavier: I am sorry I never called you back. After our first date, you creeped me out talking about your earlobe fetish. I am sure you were a very nice guy. I hope you find the love and the earlobes you deserve. I feel better already!
Now see? I couldn’t say to his face that he was giving me the creepies. In this situation, I think a disappearing act was the unclassy, cowardly way out, but at least his feelings were spared, right?

SC, i like that he explained he was only going to talk to the driver about the kids’ behavior, then when he saw how they were acting he just went off. clearly just the emotion of protecting his own, like you said. i think it’s understandable. adults are so dang scared of kids these days we no longer do a thing about bullying.

Sadly, that’s probably true. I just heard on the news that he said he’s gonna “tell his side” Sunday at church…”Why wait until Sunday?”, the reporter asked and I wondered the same thing. He either is going to be patient and wait or he needs more time to get his story together.

I am going to say this and for the first time ever I might need to borrow a blog vest ( I never received one), but he is making folks wait until Sunday, and that is turning worship time into a horse and pony show. Think about all the press and the members there in the amen corner…hot mess. He could have done a press conference Friday evening. At this time, we all the money and brain power they should have a POA; which does not include turning worship time into a press freazy.

My uncles were enthusiastic car fixers. And I do have friends and aquaintances here who work with grease and stuff.
Bottom line: no matter how much these people freshen and bath, that greasy like funk does not completely go away. They retain the whiff.
They certainly don’t smell as fresh as us corporate types! Lol

@Sassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssy I was on a few blogs lurking yesterday and his supporters were on fire! So in case any came out on me I wanted to be prepared…I stay strapped, but I wanted to wear a vest just in case.
My thing is this handle God’s business in God’s house handle your own messy mess at a podium somewhere. However respect worship service enough to not bring that mess to the house of worship. IMO, having a POA is fine, but don’t declare war at the pulpit. There is a time and place for everything.
@DreamsM I just hate seeing folks drinking coffee out of those things, or slurping coffee from a spoon when they are trying to adjust the cream and sugar. I know I am weird. LOL

My thing is, what is there for him to say? He said the allegations are not true, so he’s just going to stick to his story. Since it is an ongoing legal case, he can’t really go into detail. Surely his lawyers are telling him not to say much. So what really do folk expect to be “revealed” in his sermon on Sunday? I mean, all he could do is ask for the congregations continued prayers and support during this trying time and thank them for standing by him. What else?

I think the best legal remedy is to settle. His lawyers have to play hard ball in public tho.

I am appalled that so many of my friends are against the mosque near Ground Zero. We should allow it in order to promote tolerance.
I propose that a gay nightclub be opened next door to the mosque to promote tolerance in the mosque. We could call it “The Turban Cowboy” or “You Mecca Me Hot”. Then on the other side could be a restaurant that specializes in pork dishes; and a very daring lingerie store called “Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret”.
If it’s politically correct, it’s logically wrong, and detrimental to our country!

No he cannot say much, but he can say THE DEVIL IS A LIE, and let the drummer and the organ player cut loose. Those folks will dance in the aisle and give the media something to talk about. He can also mention helping folks come at a price, but NO WEAPONS FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER. If he need a hype man I am available Sunday from 6:30 AM until 1:00PM kickoff I will stir the crowd for him at a discounted rate of 20K, and a contract to say a min of 5 gigs at that rate.

With the size of his church, can you watch the sermon on the net or telly? Me and a co-worker was speaking on this in the am. There is no way in the world he will escape this un-harmed(wallet, etc); if it was so so untrue..he would have been on the front line two days ago denying it all. NB stock might rise for minute just due to all eyes are on this crap and it’s not going away quickly or quietly. They can pray up and throw down the collection plate all they want….he is about to be Teddy Short(his new pretend jail name).
