Does attraction ever make sense?

Do you ever wonder why you are drawn to the people that you appeal to you the most?  The fact that many of us singles think we have a type makes me wonder if we think about why.  Why does the person with the sense of humor seem to appeal to you more?

If we think about what gets our attention, does it matter why? I ask because figuring out what is behind our attraction may explain other mysteries.  Such as, if this type attracts me, why doesn’t it seem to work out?

Reflect on the type of people you have dated and remember what made them stand out to you.  When do you know that your attraction goes beyond the  “nice to look it” phase?

Why do you think  some relationships end when the attraction seems to fade or wane?

‘awwwww, trees’ is right blue. s/o says i care more about nature and animals than people. we endured several hurricanes during our years in fla. nothing made me sadder than seeing lil frogs stuck to third floor windows and trees left leaning so much their branches were nearly touching the ground.

WD, your 1:12 is soooo true and soooo sad at the same time.

Al Green’s Love and Happiness will always be relevant. Can’t say the same for B.U.D.D.Y (LOL).

Smokey Robinson’s “Quiet Storm” was music for the soul.

You know there were some songs that bordered on stalking too. Til you come back to me..The Queen was stalking dude in this song.

I’m gonna rap on your door..tap on your window pane.
I’m gonna sit by your steps..just to prove that my love is true.
Til you come back to me..that’s what I’m gonna do.

Millie Jackson was raunchy, but she made her point.

@Kym ~ Quiet Storm is the also the name of the album (oops CD). There’s a song on there that he promised never to ever perform again and he has kept his word. People went crazy when they heard this love ballard. I remember I was in high school and that it was a beautiful, sad love song.

Good Afternoon, all…..Happy Friday

On topic:
Why do you think some relationships end when the attraction seems to fade or wane?
All that I have to say about the topic….Don’t underestimate the power of pheromones. However, through dating, I found that my best match was someone with whom that I shared similar values but an opposite personalty. I found her, hit her on the head with my bat, and brought her home.

As far as music…

I’ve always stated that music isn’t that different. What the radio pushes is what changes. For example, Johnnie Taylor’s “Disco Lady” really compares lyrically to Mystikal’s “Shake it fast”

In contrast, I don’t know how a song called “Pretty Boy Swag” would fair in the 70’s or even the 80s.

In other news, I am chilling with some “Hot Buttered Soul” at the house.

@Poppa G..someone brought up Disco Lady here at the office..I am trying to remember the beat..I know me and the cousins danced off that song. And anything by James Brown is bound to cause some of my aunts to need hip replacements. ( I still shutter a bit that they were James Brown groupies..) HOT PANTS!!!

Al Greene is a tru pimp:

Simply Beautiful:
If I gave you my love
I tell you what I’d do
I’d expect a whole lot of love out of you

How can you mend a broken heart:
I can think of younger days when living for my life
Was everything a man could want to do
But I could never see tomorrow
I was never told about the sorrow

Lets stay together:
Why somebody, why people break up?
Oh, turn around and make up
I just can’t see
You’d never do that to me (Would you, baby?)
So to be around you is all I see
Is what I want us to
Let’s, we ought to stay together
Loving you whether, whether times are good or bad, happy or sad

And the most pimpish song of all times:

Al Greene – For the Good times:

Don’t look so sad I know its over
But life goes on and this world keeps on turning
Let’s just be glad we have this time to spend together
There is no need to watch the bridges that were burning

Lay your head on my pillow
Hold your warm and tender body close to mine
Hear the whisper of the raindrops
Blow softly against my window pain late at night

Well, since we’re running down our Friday playlists, here’s a little Van Haggar from the whiteboy’s iTunes:

“No I can’t recall
Anything at all
Oh baby, this blows them all away….
It’s got what it takes
So tell me why can’t this be love….”

For the good times
For the good times
I’ll get along I’m sure youll find another
But baby please remember I’ll be here
I’m gone stay right here if you should ever find that you need me
Don’t say a word about tomorrow forever and ever and ever
There will be time enough for severence when you need me

Here is just a little Gun’s N Roses for ya…they could get mushy, too…

If we could take the time
To lay it on the line
I could rest my head
Just knowin’ that you were mine
All mine
So if you want to love me
Then darlin’ don’t refrain
Or I’ll just end up walkin’
In the cold November rain

PG: I got GnR and I will raise you with some Journey:

Lying beside you
Here in the dark
Feeling your heart with mine
Softly you whisper
You’re so sincere
How could our love be so blind
We sailed on together
We drifted apart
And here you are
By my side

So now I come to you
With open arms
